hi,
i am already in my 39 week, Paul Tseng didn't even do VE saying that, don't rush matters and let nature takes its course. My first came naturally without epi on 38 weeks, 5 days.

I was a bit disappointed for not having VE done yesterday during check up. I guess Paul T, doesn't want to trigger labour unnecessarily. He said, baby is fine and wants to grow in mummy still. So tiring though...

i didn't know, c-sec is a lucrative method for gynaes...interesting...

hi, i'm in kkh but will admit at 1.45pm to insert tablet to induce. Will break water bag at ard 8pm or when dilate to 3cm. So my bb will be born 30apr or 1 may.

Morning ladies !! Was screening thru' some of the past postings

Porky,
I only realised that she is Ling when she walked over asking am I from the May MTB. Then I realised that she is Ling.

Adrienne,
Well, both birth are diff.. Infact, this round I can really feel the pain and the contraction. My elder is coping well with the new arrival of didi and she is very happy and excited. Will be sharing the birth story next
happy.gif

morning everyone...

Have a smooth delivery for those who are poping today. Gng for my gyne visit later. Hopefully can hear gd news from gyne. Coz actually i was hoping baby can come out this week.

Haha must be wondering why I have the time to post right ?
happy.gif
Frankly speaking when I returned from the hospital I hardly have the time to post & can only read from my mobile. It is tough to handle both kids..

Anyway, my boy has been admitted yesterday due to high level of jaundice. Met mikojade during the checkup at the clinic
happy.gif
Will be visiting my boy later in the afternoon.

My birth story as below:-

On 25 Apr 09

9am - Visited gynae for my week 39 checkup and strapped on CTG
9.30am - Result shows that I have regular contraction. Performed VE shows that I am 1.5cm dilated and cervix has thin/soften. Gynae suggested that I should admit myself to the hospital.
10am - Have my breakfast and park my ger at my mum's place
11am - Admitted and opted for "happy dural"
12.15pm - "Happy dural" given
2.00pm - Gynae burst waterbag
2.40pm - 3cm dilated
4pm - Inject medicine to fasten contraction
4.30pm - 8cm dilated
5.15pm - Fully dilated
6pm - Gynae arrived
6.15pm - Arrival of baby Ashton

Audrey,
Yeh don read too much on induced birth. Infact, is nothing to worry abt. As what Shers has shared, my elder is induced birth and the birth story is similar to what I had for my boy just that am induced prior to the "happy dural". I was admitted at ard 1145am and delivered my ger by 6pm. Infact, I am fully dilated by 4pm
happy.gif
So no worries...

Joyce,
Thanks for the tips.. perhaps I shld latch more offen than pump. Will do when my boy is discharged

To the mummies who are going to pop today... Have a smooth delivery

good morning mummies ! just have a nice breakfast..

wow so many posting last night..i slept early..very sleepy..shers, i also have bbq chicken wings, sambal kangkong, hokkien mee, sugar cane drinks last night for dinner ! so happy ! u should be admitted already..all the best ! hope u can post live when u wake up from coma...hahaha

audrey, good luck and jia you !

abby, sorry to hear that abt dr woody...personally, i find him ok as my gynae...not very fantastic but i do trust him a lot...btw, the nurse at SK clinic are all very friendly one...no problem with them...just sharing my past experience with u...got once i got emergency, then i call dr woody on his mobile, he ask me go cck clinic see him immediately...when i was inside my hubby's car, he keep calling me to make sure i know the way there and dont get lost...and say i dont need to wait..when reach just tell the nurse that i need to see him...but the nurse was so rude..ask me to register and fill in the form first....btw, i was bleeding...then i got another call from woody, he was surprise that i reach already but why the nurse never inform him...then he ask me to see him striaght away..no need fill in any forms or wait...after tat i never see him at cck anymore...i still prefer SK clinic..alto is very cramp also..and no tv..hehe

glenlyn, u just started to get feet swollen ? mine swollen for weeks already...but today looks better..can fit into my regular flip flop

oki, haha...so is ling made the first move to ask u...i wonder will i ask the person beside me when i deliver ? i think i will cos i very thick skin mah...hahaha...btw, ur labour seems fast and smooth..u mean once admitted can straight away ask for happy dural ? no need to wait for gynae's approval or what ?

wah, so many babies sharing the same bird day today !!!

wow.. so much things to read early in the morning..

Wish all going to deliver have a smooth delivery.

Okipoki:
You are welcome and thanks for sharing ur birth story..

Justme:
I'm with Dr Paul Tseng for the 2nd time. He is super pro-natural & will not interfer birth unless neccessary, maybe for Dodo case & he is careful for those who wants to try VBAC, and will react fast, in case of emergency.

Dodo:
Welcome back!
Hope you are more comfy after having 2 opinions!

Hi, congrats to all mommies who have given birth! Just to share my experience with everyone, I have popped my baby boy on 21st Apr:

21st Apr
1:00am - Felt contractions, but irregular ones.
4:30am - Contractions still kicking in constantly, but the intervals ranges from between 4-8mins. Wasnt sure if it was braxton hicks or real contractions.
5:30am - Decided to check into hospital
6:00am - CTG and contractions measurement done.
6:45am - Midwife says contractions are still far apart, and only 1.5cm dilated. Estimated that the labour will take another 12hrs.
8:00am - Decided to take epi-dural
8:30am - Waterbag bursts by itself
9:00am - Gynea examined - 6cm dilated.
12ishpm - Arrival of baby boy!

Just to assure all new, first-time mommies like me, the whole labour process wasn't as scary/painful as I thought it would be!
happy.gif

But that's also probably cos i had the epidural.
The stitches was also of bearable pain, I didnt have to take any of the pain killers administered and could get out of bed the next day for some walking.

Enjoy motherhood! :D

Thanks Joyce! Yup the whole delivery process happened pretty fast and smooth. Even the delivery team was also surprised that the dilation happened so fast... I'm quite scare of pain, so I think probably the next time round I'll still go for epidural...haha

Hope to hear your birth experience soon!

Hi Penguin,

Thanks for the assurance, as a 1st time mum, i am freaking out liao... wondering how painful its gonna be.. I was told the administration of Epidural is painful too.. is it true?

porky - on epi, i actually got my gynae to list it down as an instruction on the hosp admission letter, dat i wan epi to be administered on admission. during my #1, i waited to exp contraction pain but requested for epi in the end. for #2, i wan epi immediately, haha.

yvette - actually the administration of epi is fine. the doc got me to use the laughing gas and he was very quik with the procedure and relief kicked in almost immediately.

to all the mummies who are delivering - jia you.

last nite, i thot i would be delivering too coz had some contraction pain. but it went away after a while. aiya, back to waiting....

Porky,
I already told my gynae I want happy dural & he will call the hospital for the arrangement and expecting my arrival. Anyway, they nurse did ask again
happy.gif

For both is similar so am glad is a short one
happy.gif

Penguins,
COngrats on the arrival of your prince, short delivery.. very good !!

febmum and oki, okok...i think will ask my gynae noted down that i wan epi upon admission also...i dont wan to suffer the pain till the last min then begging for it...hehe

oki - ya lor, wait until neck long long. my #1 came at 37wks so we were all so prepared for #2 to come early too. but nw dat i'm gg to be 39 wks soon, there is still no sound no colour from #2!

jamie - dat's true. but i tink pple laugh at mummy coz we are labouring on labour day! haha. if 1st bb on may day, will be featured on newspaper or not? hahaha

Porky,
Ya if u are very sure u want u shld opt for it earlier
happy.gif
Anyway, even if I am on epi I have requested the dosage to be little and increased when the actual pain kicks in. So at least I still can feel the contraction and the pushing feeling
happy.gif

Feb_mum,
Me too initially cos my #1 arrived at week 38 plus so this round is week 39
happy.gif

Xue,
Yeh am surprised so many of the May MTB popped in April.. thats alot
happy.gif

Jamie,
I also prefer a 1st May bb so at least his bd always fall on a PH. No need to take leave unlike me.. Anyone EDD on 22nd ? Haha then the bb shared the same bd as me
happy.gif

febmum, i think it's cute.. gg into labour on labour day!! Hahaha! the irony!

Oki: i read the article from the link provided.... IT IS VERY SCARY!!!!! n when i read i feel that it's rather anti induction. Nt gd if im someone who no choice mus go thru induction one..

joyce,
i was also hoping to give birth using gravity as an aid...but how does Paul or midwife handle the situation?? will baby hit the floor?? got space for baby to fall?? i mean i got quite a big bum..haha.. so dunno if i can make it.. last time with paul too..but sitting upright as per normal in bed...no stirrups though..i think i kicked paul alot..haha..

Jamie,
Keep it open minded, anyway all depend on how "听话" is your cervix to dilate. I do have friends went thru' everything ended need to c-sect but overall is a good experience. Keep it +ve ...
