hello mummies-to-be, im 3 months postpartum and am taking the time to pen down my thoughts while they are still fresh as i think i really lucked out with my confinement nanny.
as someone who didnt wanna do confinement initially, i was really blessed to meet nanny jin. i’m someone who do not want a traditional confinement but a happy one instead. of course, i still stuck to the bare minimum of red date tea and herbal bath but other than that, i really just wanted to focus on recovery and enjoy my time to welcome the new title.
nanny jin is just like me, she may not be the smiley kind but she’s easy to talk to, willing to learn and most importantly, she shared lots of knowledge with us which helped us to prevent baby’s gassy issues.
throughout my two months with her (yeah i extended her), my baby did not have a single incident of diaper rash or falling sick. bb gained steady weight every week and generally, just a happy baby.
nanny may not be the BEST cook out there but she really puts in effort to replicate dishes i feel like eating. i was extremely touched when she went the extra mile to google recipes when i requested for a specific type of pork chop my mum used to make for me and tried to make it the same
i also like that when my husband was out at work, she really takes the time to care for me and chat with me.. making my confinement less lonely (i dont have much family or friends).
she made me see that she not only loves my baby a lot, but also cares about me at my most vulnerable stage.
idk how other nannies are like but i think its really a game of luck when it comes to picking nanny. i believe mutual respect is important and i really hope she meets nice families from here on (i have heard horror stories from her and i was really appalled how they were treated by some…. )
here’s wishing all mummies a smooth pregnancy and delivery
