I'm not strong! I find the nurse checking for dilation super painful! I can tolerate nagging pain better than sharp pain, if you get what I mean... Haha... A big motivation for each time is that hubby will give me the $ for epi to buy jewellery. AND I used the $ before I deliver so if I don't wanna pay for epi myself, I gotta ren! Haha...
I just went for my check up.. First pregnancy! Today is 6w6d, amazing to hear the heart beat.. Lovely Xmas present for us as we have tried for bb for almost 2yr and even went 3 round of IUI and 1 round of IVF..
Orangey, can I trouble u to update my details. Edd: 23/7/13 gyne: Dr Eunice Chua hospital: TMC no of pregnancy: first
When are you all doing your OSCAR?
Last Fri went for Gynae appt and he said "Aiyah, your 2x nia, your chances is 1:1000 very low risk dont need to do OSCAR" Asked hub and he said, since no.2 already maybe no need to do but I was like ....
Think I'll just do the scan
Anyone going to KKH for OSCAR scan between 26-28 Dec? Let me know okay? Can meet there!
We did OSCAR for #1. I'm wondering if I should do it for #2. My friend made a very good point. She didn't do hers because after discussing it with her hb, they will keep the baby even if he has DS. So not doing OSCAR will spare her the depression during pregnancy should the result be DS positive.
I discussed with my hb and he insisted on doing OSCAR even though we will also keep the baby no matter what. His reason is because he wants to be prepared for it if the baby turns out to have DS.
So no choice, we have to spend that few hundred dollars to do it.
Am I the only one who haven't seen baby yet?? My gynae appoint is only next Friday. She wanted to see me earlier but I don't see the need to go so early. Waste money to see a small sac. Oops.. Maybe cos it's my second baby, so I'm less enthu. Hahaha..
may I ask how much will the OSCAR scan be at KKH?
Because I am doing mine at Thomson soon which has a package for OSCAR and FA scan (spinal cord assessment. It is going to cost 400 plus. I am thinking if KKH will be cheaper and will it be cheaper if I get a referral letter from polyclinic.
I will be seeing my gynae this Sat, so will see what she says.
Hi Tabbyz... actually after been to 2 appointments (and going for a 3rd one this Sat), I do find the sessions redundant and waste of momeny. HAhaha... Too practical liao. Guess it's nice to see the sac and have the doctor's confirmation but guess one appointment is good enough.
Eleen, that's very worth it!! Is Dr Clifton Chan good? Initially hb wants to change to Mount A cos he hated TMC's parking.. #1 was delivered there and my gynae visits are there too.. But I don't know any gynae from Mount A.. So decided to go back to TMC, although I've changed to another gynae which my friend recommended..
My OSCAR scan will be on 28Dec. That will be my 2nd appt with gynae too. I think for most people, first tri visits are usually once a month. Unless if you have issues like bleeding, then will need to have more visits.
