lynzi, tried liao. end up she wanted our food so we gave her our brown rice. i tot she wanted to eat adult food so prepared brown rice and fish... she refused...

csi, i hope susu outgrows this too... her appetite seems to hv improved. gave her 130ml of ebm and she asked for more. so gave 30+30ml just now. she took all willingly.
 


tub!! Me me! You have 1 baby here that behaves like su... though not as bad. I can really relate with you. We had a hard time feeding Jr at home.. whereas at my mum's place.. he takes his porridge much better... with tv on that is. Did u try cheese? Jr hates it at first.. but now he loves his cheese. We had to resort to 1 spoon porridge, 1 spoon cheese (just a tiny bit).. he'll cry once he realised he's being tricked into opening his mouth for porridge.. then i give him 1 biscuit for him to pop into his mouth. I wonder if we are spoiling him... v tempted to let him go hungry for longer hrs and see if he'll eat!
 
Oh ya and worse still.. he'll cry n cry when he dun wanna eat. Bang his head on the high chair.. use his hands to hit his ears... V v bad-tempered bb. And a few times, he'll keep the food in his mouth till gag.. then vomit out EVERYTHING... v disheartening..

btw, can any of your bbs walk yet? Aidan is able to take 2-3 steps now. And he looks sooo... cute wobbling around.

Ladies who have stopped breast-feeding:
when you press your nipples, do you still see some milk droplets? My beautician told me that one of her clients stopped breastfeeding for more than 6 months, and when she did breast massage for her, there was milk oozing out. She said this residual milk may cause problems in future. Yesterday when I was bathing, I squeezed my nipples, there was some milk! It worries me to bits. Any advise??
 
bluelily, susu will not close her mouth when she doesn't want to eat she'll let the food ooze out of her mouth! wa lau! civil disobedience man... yes... disheartening is the word...

maybe can ask lactation consultant? I am waiting for the KKH Yen Ping to call me back. Actually I am also like that after I stopped bf my elder one. In fact, I still have a block milk duct that is not cleared even up till now. I am just thinking how to remove it after I stop bf.

haha i also have this problem. dylan will scream and shout in his highchair and if i put the food in his mouth, he will make a gagging noise and let it all ooze out of his mouth! really can faint leh.

I called up liao, she said its normal, dun press, squeeze or pump.. it will go off eventually but dunno how long this is going to take. If you experienced engorgement or the milk is oozing out when you work, then apply cold cabbage and wear your bra, change every 2 hrs.

in this case i think u just have to keep feeding at the stipulated time and be thankful for any amount she wants to eat.

sometimes i realised this kids know who they can bully.
usually they will readily take food from the main caretaker (this scenario excludes dylan though...hehehe)
for my case, if its my dad or sis or mum feeding faiq, he wont be able to finish his normal food intake.

Hehe... initially was curious, so just after BF, I squeezed to see if still got milk then as time goes by, I will do that during bathing :p

1) the block milk duct that I still have
ans: get it scanned once I stopped breastfeeding, if they confirmed that it's milk cyst, they will use a needle to break it.

2) to stop breastfeeding
ans: use cabbage and very tight bra, loosen when it's very tight

3) milk oozing out when squeezed after ending bf
ans: it is normal and depending on individual, the milk ducts will stop production and storage at different time. her daughter who stop bf for 2 years already still have milk coming out when she squeezed her breast.

Tub
My end to bf-ing came rather abruptly but it worked out well. Took place over a month or so. Here's roughly what happened:

Early Nov
QJ bit me, bleeding, stopped latching on and only pumped

Mid-End Nov
- frequency of pumping dropped from 3x to 2x cos wound could not heal properly
- menses came in end Nov, ss dropped further

Early Dec
- Pumped only once a day
- resumed latching on some nights for last feed in addition to EBM
- Frozen BM supply depleted very fast

Mid Dec
- started introducing FM to supplement EBM

3rd week Dec
- stopped pumping altogether
- latch on some nights if QJ wants

The last time QJ latched on was on 26Dec. I don't feel any engorgement or discomfort at all. Not sure if there's anything if he wants to suckle now.

val, so lucky your transition is so smooth. i will feel unwell if i suddenly stop pumping. sometimes i try to drag my pumping time and i'll feel uncomfy and feverish. so scared i'll get mastitis like the last time again. so have to wean off real slowly. i think by the time i totally wean off would be 18 months?! i have another prob also... su doesn't like FM. She'll only take if we spoon feed. urrrgh...

I think some are confused with the purpose of the date for the poll.
It's actually suppose to be their birthday but I put the year wrongly guess some interpreted it as the date we observed the progress. Anyway, date of progress is fine.

I think all the babies are very fast, some can even walk very fast already. actually it's not really a big concern even if they start walking at 15mths or so.
Clarene is quite a lazy baby but these few days, she is showing more interest in walking and gets very excited if she realised she is walking. so funny.

thanks for all the feeding tips on cereals! hmm.. i think will be cheaper to get the rolled oats! cos the nestle gold cereals is pretty expensive; one small pack @$4+ and for my case, feeding 2 babies, it really finishes very fast!! =P

pardon my ignorance but what is cheerios? also for the garden peas, do you need to remove the skin? cos there's a thin skin layer that may be tough for babies to eat right? and do u puree it first? i was wondering if can put some pureed sweet corn?? =P haha... more ideas!
 
slimz, my little ikan bilis sure no fight for shirui... today cereal fight again. hubby and i have decided to try out baby led weaning way of feeding.

cheerios is like cornflakes except it's multigrain in loop shape. can get it from coldstorage (yellow box) at n\breaKFAST cereals dept. as for the peas, no, i give it straight away after steaming
