happy.gif

Jasmine,
A big welcome to you!

hi jasmine

not sure if there is anyone who's above 36 here. there's a huge difference between IUI and IVF though. welcome to the thread!

petals,
you seem very familar with the procedure to drain excess fluid from the abdomen, ahve you been thr this before? is it painful? will if affect the embroyos?

babymaking,
yeah, i went thru it previously before when my bloatedness caused the tummy skin to be stretched so tight until I felt that i was going to burst. Not very painful for the drainage if i recall (at that pt u are already in great discomfort to think abt anything else), and i felt greatly relieved after that procedure...finally could breathe and eat a little better for the next few days. Won't affect the embies cos it's not done at the uterus. Just that it may build up again after a few days depending. That was my last resort as my egg whites weren't helping me at the pt. But I've heard that some other people got hospitalised for ohss, but I'm not sure what happens when they are hospitalised, cos their cases must have been much more serious.

nano, i think the puregon jab is much easier to inject. so far, i find both jabs quite pain free, i do it myself everyday. ya, i also inject Puregon twice on 4th day. So your scan should be this thurs rite?

Petals, yeah! your AF is here.. hope you can start Puregon soon...

the bloatedness symptom seems to be quite common.. do you think eating eggs way before the ER will help control the bloatedness after?

Michelle, Nano,
Yeah...can't wait for my next appmt. Hope can start soon. I'm not sure if eating eggs b4 ER/ET will help, cos not everyone will have bloatedness. But u can try if u like eggs...hee hee...

Ya Michelle me got to go down nx wk for the scan, things seems to be moving pretty fast. By then there will be measurement for the follicles and lining. Thk they will not be giving any scan pic or result so got to be very alert to note down the numbers.

Petals,
Since yr AF is here, will yr next scan appt be brought forward?

Just to chk..for I/M Pregnyl, must the jab be on the thigh? Ever read that it will be very painful so wondering whether can request to jab on buttock instead? ..hoping to lesser the pain but not sure whether kkh allows. Anyone knows?

Nano,
Good idea, will call them on Mon to check if i can bring fwd my scan. Hmm, but i might still be having AF that day...

babymaking,
thanx...i hope so too! :p

babymaking/theresa, are you feeling better oredi? have your bloatedness subsided or at least controlled? remember to stay positive.. theresa when is your 2WW up?

Petals, AF also can scan, no problem!!

Good afternoon ladies,

Thanks for the well wishes.

Found out BFP on Friday, went out for celebratory dinner Friday night, and went to see Gynae on Saturday.

I thought the tough times i.e injections, bloatedness, daily crinone insertion to the V are over when I "graduate" from the ICSI process, but I was wrong. Now I got to have IM injections of DepoProluton and Pregnyl to my butt twice a week, on top of the tablets of duphaston and folic acid twice a day. And the injection is painful! When it was first injected I do not feel the pain. 2 hours later the pain start creeping up on me and am still sore now. And to think there's more injections.... sigh. And am very frightened of the Pregnyl cos after the last dose of Pregnyl my bloatedness got full blown.

My scan would be on 22nd. And apparently in NUH they do not do another Beta to see if the values double-up or not, cos from previous posts of sisters who are from KKH that's what they did. I wonder if they also support the pregnancy with injections also or just tablets.

Tomorrow Theresa and MapleBabies big day. All the best ladies! Babydust for you both..

Babymaking,
Glad to hear that im pregnyl was not painful for you, hee maybe yr pain threshold is higher. Hope i will find it alright also.

Petals,
The nurse said AF also can scan. However, not too sure whether they will let you go down earlier, guess shdn't be a problem. Ya 2mr you give them a call.

Michelle,
Yr hubby also taking antibiotics right?

Lefty,
Hope i will have a chance to celebrate like you.
Hmn..seems like the Pregnyl making you abit stress, yr poor butt got to take so many injections. Do take care!

Dunno how is Theresa and Maplebabies. Thought Theresa is supposed to have her blood test tomorrow and Maplebabies will be having hers on Tue?..maybe i remember wrongly. Anyway, hope both of them are fine and bring gd news to this thread.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday got very bad bloatedness so visisted my dr and at the same time did a BHCG bld test and was POSITIVE with reading 288 high post D12 transfer! Dr said is likely to be a healthly singleton.... yeh!

Lefthander,

GEH also dont practice to do another Beta to see if the values double-up or not, but i will need to go down to GEH for injection tmr and i heard will be given twice a week, as for how long will depend on how stable is the embryo. Continue to pray pray for God's protection on our babies and a smooth 9 mths!

Theresa, Congrats!! you were worried for multiples and you got a singleton! double good news for you... take great care and have a smooth 9 months. Yippee!

theresa,
that's great news!! Congrats!! See, all the discomfort u went thru is now worth it.
happy.gif
Have a smooth 9 mths!

Nano, Michelle,
hmm, won't it be a little messy if scan during AF? Anyway, hope i can bring it earlier...will call them first thing.

Babymaking,
It's must be tough on you to go through such tormenting journey. I believe it's worthwhile after all..

Lefty & Theresa,
Big congrats to both of you... Have a smooth 9 months... Baby dusts from you to this thread... Really happy for you...

Maplebabies,
Hear good news from you, too...

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this thread, but I've been a silent observer for quite some time. I'm so happy to read about the many successful stories. Thanks to your posts, I've gained a lot of information and courage to embark on my IVF journey. This will be my 1st IVF, after 7 unsuccessful IUIs.

I'm with KKIVF, and am on my 4th day of Puregon. Will be going for my scan this Friday.

Hope to share my journey with you!!!

Theresa, congratulations!!!!

here's wishing you a safe 9 months.

hi rammy, welcome to the thread.

update:
am feeling a lot better now, the bloatedness and soreness have more or less disappeared, my appetite returned yesterday.

now having AF like cramps and it's only 6DPT, it's not looking up at all.

does anyone knows how soon can one test HPT after embryo transfer?

Babymaking.. great to hear you are feeling better.. how did you get rid of the bloatedness? eggs????
happy.gif

nano, ya, my hubby also on antibiotics..

Theresa,
Congratulations! God has granted you the desire of yr heart! Yr success is really an encouragement to me.

Rammy,
Welcome! You r exactly the same timing as Michelle! I'm on my 5th day of Puregon so my scan will be one day before you and Michelle. Like most of the sisters here, I've also done a few IUIs before doing IVF. Do come in often to share with us!

Petals,
How? Can bring the scan forward?

hi lefty
congrats!!have you done accupuncture?or take any tcm?

i am planning to start ivf by october. can anyone give me the address for doing acupunture?which place will be the best? is there any red hill?
thanks

Dear all,
I getting abit worried since yesterday. Today is already my 5th day of Puregon but so far i dun feel any discomfort or lower abdominal cramp which i thought will comes if our eggs grows. Now thinking whether my eggs is growing well and is it because i am not responding well to the Puregon

Hi, Lefty & Theresa

Hurray! Hurray! Congratulation!

Hi, Jasmine

Welcome. BTW, as for your question, I'm turning 36 & starting my IVF journal in Sep. Mind if I ask, how old are you?

Hi, Pupi

I have also understand from this thread that it is good to start TCM & Acu before you embark your IVF. Since my IVF is sechedule to start in Sep, I have taken TCM for a month & so. Also start my 1st Acu session last Sat.

I think there are 2 popular Acu recommended by the sister in this thread. One in AMK & one in Meiling Street. You should check the earlier achive posting in this thread, some of the sisters have given the contact & address.

Hi Sunny Jessie,

I am also turning 36. Is this your first IVF attempt? I am contemplating ... but age is catching up... haiz ..

Dear pl
thank you very much. mei ling st is it near to queenstown mrt? you are seeing in which clinic?
is that accu painful? i am very new on this accu. maybe tomorrow i will go tomorrow for first visit.

hi theresa. congrats. wish u happy 9 months.

Hi, Jasmine

Yap. It's my 1st attempt. Decide to do it cos' IVF is my only option as I have both blocked fallopian tubes.

You have to prepare financially, physically & emotionally before you embark on IVF journal as it can be difficult at time. However, as all the other sisters in this thread share, the desire & love for children is the motivation for us to press on.

So if you are prepare, you may want to start asap as age does play an important part.

But not to worry, we are here to Jia You for one another.

Hi PL & Pupi,

Thank you for your well wishes.

PL, wow it sound good that you enjoy acup, at least this is the first big step toward ivf success, remember to do it regularly (twice a week).

I used to be very tense but I enjoyed it at the same time as Dr Zou gives me a very comfortable feeling and she share and talk to me while i'm on the needles and time seem to pass very fast.

Hi all - thanks again for the well wishes.
happy.gif

Pupi
No, I did not do tcm nor acupuncture. I went on vacation before starting the IVF though. Am not sure what I did help in the 2ww either. I read some sites that eating brazil nuts and drinking pineapple juice will help thicken the womb lining and help with implantation. - So I did! I know us Asians are icky when it comes to pineapple and pregnancy, but it is believed that the high selenium content does help with the womb. Anyways am glad my procedure was successful albeit with brazil nuts/pineapple juice consumption or not.

PL,
Yes 35.4 is considered pretty low. 36 is considered ok but on the low side. But then again if that is already your normal body temperature than you should not worry too much. the rise and decrease from your norm is what matters. But hypothermia is also quite apparent in ppl with hypothyroidism. Maybe you should ask your GP or something if you're worried.

Jazzt,
Hi
kao_welcome.gif

To start off I think you better decide which specialist you want to go to. I'm with NUH, most ppl here are with KKH, Theresa is from GEH. The specialist will give you their opinion on the matter.

Am 30, had 3 failed IUI/SO-IUI. First IVF in NUH and walaa BFP.

Nano,
You'll only know whether you respond well to puregon when they scan you and the blood tests. Do not worry about symptoms! Am sure the aim is to be pain-free, not pain-ful!

hi PL..

i agree with u..acu actually quite relaxing.. in fact..i always fall asleep..! hehe.. so pai seh..:p

hi lefty,
u r with which dr? i am with dr. pc wong at nuh.i am 29. one fail iui.

hi all,
to-day i went to EU YAN SANG TCM CLINIC at jurong medical center. the lady dr name is zhang fang. she told me accupunture will be done on hand and foot.

sister, can anyone tell me what you do during the accupuncture? i need you advice.

dear pl,
you are telling me that it is like body massage but today the dr. told me that they will poke niddle on the hand and foot. so is it different accu than your one?or ivf can i go any accu center and do accu?

Sorry to ask you so many question coz i am not chiness and i dont have any idea abt accup.

thanks to you all

hi hope
where do u do your accu?
can i go to eu yan sang tcm for accu?
i am thinking only to do accu. i will not take any tcm medicine. what do you think?

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you experienced or is experiencing extreme tiredness, being lethargic & having hot flushes while on lucrin/puregon jabs?

I don't know if it's just me not having enough sleep & rest, or are these the side effects of the jabs. My body just feels so different...

Hi Pupi,
ya, Dr will poke niddle on your ABS and your legs but the feeling just likes massage. it is very relaxing and I always fall asleep like Hopes.

Hi Rammy, i do not experience any of those you mentioned above. Except that i tend to wake up a few times at nite, thinking of the jab i need to take the next day. Other than that, dun feel extremely tired or lethargic and do not have hot flush. My friend said she did have hot flush during the Puregon jabs. so i guess different ppl have different symptoms.... if you feel so tired, take a day off work (if you are working) and just sleep and sleep..
happy.gif

Lefty,
Haa come to think of it, i must be out of my mind to ask for discomfort symptoms..silly me. You are right, better to be pain-free.

Rammy,
Last time I also have a friend who experienced hot flush during jabs but not too sure whether it is Puregon jab. Think it is one of the side-effects, so shd be ok. So far, I am ok throughout the jab but today I feel abit tired bcos did not sleep very well yesterday.
