super tired... juz finished pumping.. hope bb will sleep for another hour b4 waking up to feed.. else i will hav nothing for her to drink..

been thinking over if anything new has been added to my diet recently n realised tt i hav been drinking soup with dang gui.. did a google n realised tt it affect milk ss... and such a coincidence tt u gals oso mentioned tt dang gui affects milk ss today...

my CL has been cooking soup with dang gui.. not everyday lah.. at least alt days lor... and combined with pig liver... think it's potent.. hav juz told her tt i dun want dang gui soup for the next few days... but she kept persuading me to drink coz it's gd for us etc etc.. but i juz insisted no dang gui for the moment since i need to build up ss first......

shihui, if ur cl wanna cook dang gui, ask her to cook with chix...tha day i had mine with chix drum stick...dun worry abt ur ss, u latch ur gal very often n ss wun drop overnight like tha...could be she drinking more too...

wah nowadays the thread all about milk..hehe...

i also prefer pump coz at least can make sure bb finish her milk to last for a while. else she will only latch for short while and doze off. using avent manual but only need less than 10mins to pump so not tiring for hands. ss wise my yield about 150ml for 2-3hrs..not v much but more than enuf for bb =)

superwalker, since u got good ss, maybe can consider a good pump le could it be the nurses fed him ur ebm first then top up with 30ml formula??maybe u clarify with them before u store ur milk in 30/60ml?

Sporty, u mean the better pumps can yield more? No leh, I asked them to feed 1 formulae after I got discharged cos too rush to go back to feed him on a 3 hourly cycle. Next day I checked the records, I saw they fed him 30ml. Em....ok....heading down again...ask them later..

After I got discharged yesterday afternoon, already back to the hospital at least 5 times to feed my bb. The carpark guys can already recognize us! Ha!

i tried pumping y'day nite twice and i gotten 180ml again!..then i pump at 10.30am, i gotten 100ml..so hopefully later i pump again, i got more...din managed to wake up to pump last nite...v v tired...going to see baby soon!

i'm using the pigeon food and bottle warmer to warm my ebm.. it takes abt 5 to 7 mins max.. if i use a cup and got water.. it'll take me abt 10 mins? u can test the milk on your hand before giving baby. can't be too hot also..

Usually i will put a few drops onto my wrists. As long as it's room temperature, it's okay to feed bb. But I'll make it slightly warmer. Just dun over-heat the milk as it will kill the nutrients.

How much are u able to express out currently after latching? Today i can only express out at most 50ml. It's half of yesterday's ss.

my CL use cup with warm water to warm my ebm taken from the fridge. i realised that she didn't wait for 5 mins for the milk to warm up. i estimated it's about 2-3 mins. i took over the bottle and test the milk on my wrist and it's not really warm. very angry that she's been feeding my gal cold milk all along. especially at night when my gal cries for milk.

no la.. 2 hrly is only during first month when establishing supply.. after supply established already can slowly cut down to 5-6 times, and min 3-4 times a day to maintain.. by the time u go back to work after maternity leave, just pump 4 times a day can liao..

dont forget that when u mix BM, you should start counting 48 hours from the OLDER batch and not the new batch!

why dont you buy a bottle warmer? it'll be easier than use warm water coz bottle warmer will maintain the temperature..

hmm.. can check the temp of hte milk.. meaning.. by that time we will know when baby needs to drink and won't be by demand feeding? so will have time to heat up the EBM?

i sometimes will have a phobia.. scared that my EBM will be contaminated.. cos the fridge.. always open and close..

today my massage lady came.. and told me no drinking of water.. asked me to drink longan drink and brown rice tea.. ( can buy from fu hua.)

she says water retention is caused by water.. and when she saw me.. she shook her head.. says i very water retention and alot of wind..

and she says this brown rice tea tastes like water.. so i think its okay to drink loh.. and seems like a health drink.. so no harm bah...

my mum immediately go buy from fu hua .. it is $23 i got member card.. so its $20.70.. i called their office.. but they selling 2 cans of 50 pks.. for $50 and free 10 sachets with free delivery.. i think not worth leh.. better to buy from fu hua..

i can't get to sleep leh.. now has to go shower.. cos not in time to shower in the monring.. before my massage lady came..

went for blood test and my gal's reading UP again. Dr said it's still normal range but need to do test again on friday.

i asked if i should stop BF and she said i should continue although BF will prolong the jaundice.

ok, about my birth story... just a short one here:
0600: admitted to GH
0800: epidural
0900: gynae broke water bag, 3cm dilated. on the induce drip. my gal's heart beat slow down after 15min, off the drip for 15mins. on the drip again, heart beat slow, gynae said wait for my own contraction w/o drip.
1000-1300: 3cm STILL!
1400: gynae done with her surgery. chk on me 5cm dilated. she actually suggested to have c section as bb destress even with my own contraction but she said she's willing to wait.
1500-1600: 5c STILL. tempted to go for c section coz tired for the waiting.
1700: feel the contraction pain although i was on epidural! nurse chk and i was 8-9cm and she can feel bb's head! asked me not to push and get my gynae down.
1741: bb gal out!
gynae told me she's very busy today as the delivery nurse kept calling her to report my situation. she know i don't want to go for c section thus willing to wait, if other gynae, alrd asked the patient go for c section liao..

i managed to bathe baby alone this morning without him crying. not an easy feat but i am so happy i did!

pumping now, ss went down a bit but seems to be the case whereby i am not so diligent to pump and latch so am trying to build it back. thinking it's working!

dingdong> i haf bottle warmer but i find it faster to use boiled water to warm the milk. i will test the milk by 'squeezing' a few drops on the 'inside of my elbow' dont get mad ya? *hugz

If i have pump some milk at 2pm and i pump at 5 pm is it all right to mix the milk together??

trying to pump almost 2-3hrs interval to have more...each session for both is abt 50-60ml only..

seen my lil boy just now at tmc, now drinking 90ml...die liao, how to bm him siah.,.

initially my gal also drinking 90ml of fm even after latching on both sides.. so wadeva i express out, i just feed her and the rest i supplement with formular. but i latch her, den feed ebm, not enough den give fm.. just continue to latch and pump.. slowly your supply will increase..

i'm trying to pump more..so when my boy back from tmc..he got enough to drink..but hard to catch up..

but hor, how u know when latching is not enough?
