Tempted to bring my girl out but think she is still too young...and I can't manage alone yet. And she has a thunderous voice...will be too embarassing if she decides to howl the whole place down.

ashley, my gal already drinks a lot and i think she drink less through direct latch.

rue, i'll try that and see if there's any improvement. currently i can only pump out about 60-70 ml on average. regarding washing hands, my cl boiled water for me to wash.

regarding hi-tea, i can't confirm yet. i wish to bring my baby along but am afraid that i would not be able to handle her all by my own.

agata, yeah...u can take fenugreek pills to enhance ur supply... dun be alarm abt the big lump of blood, its normal tha ur body dispels the blood...

rue, i still wash my hands and sterlise my pumps as usual... u have massage done today eh? thas why have ur binder on...

swanston, u really MIA for very looong liao lor!! u can get fenugreek from GNC...ask ur sis to go and buy la... so now u only exclusively pump for ur gal or u still latch?

ashley, i tempted to bring bb along for high tea but my stroller very heavy leh...and diff to eat with sling...hehehe...how ah?!

actually if we wanna bring bb hor, we can have the gathering at someone's house...and we order mcds or takeaways...so its easy for us to pump/bf bb...

BTW, kimifin finally popped liao!! BB Ayden arrived this afternoon thru natural birth with epidural...bb is 2.615kg! CONGRATS GAL!

i read got lots of mummies got problem with pumping and ss? latch on i got no experience, but pumping you need to pump max 3 hrs apart like what sporty keeps repeating in her posts.. haa..

the first 2-3 weeks is essential to building up supply, and especially the first week. even though sore and bleeding nipples i still endured the 2-3 hour pump schedule. luckily now nipples are ok liao but still sore so i dont max the vacuum.

in 1 pump session of at 20-30 mins, you may experience several let-downs. a let down is when the milk is actually coming out. it doesnt mean that when no milk is coming out, your breast is empty and a signal to stop pumping. just let the pump run and in a couple of minutes you'll experience another let down. to increase supply you can comtinue pumping to encourage more let-downs which will signal to your body that you require more milk. once i was so engrossed in reading my book that i pumped for 40 mins..! ha..

before a let down you'll feel that your nipples become more sensitive and breasts may ache a little during the pump, so dont stop pumping at this point!

its ok to miss a pump session in the night.. last night i didnt hear my alarm too.. and dozed from 12 m to 6am, kena blocked ducts in both sides, just only managed to clear one side after 4 pumps, now my right side still blocked, so painful.. hope will go away in the next session! but during the day, best to keep to 2 hrly so that you'll have as close to 12 pumps a day as possible.

continue striving!! after 1 week plus since i delivered, my daily supply now is about 900ml, have to transfer the older batches in freezer already.

hee.. that's exactly why i chose to pump exclusively.. i dowan the hassle of wondering if enough or not, how much he drink, need to pump out excess milk...etc..

but latching on gives benefits like better emotional bonding, can feed baby while you lie down and sleep. going out dont need to worry about bringing bottles, hot water to warm up milk, enough time to warm up milk before baby starts screaming.. etc..

gotta weigh the pros n cons la

my mum likes to pick on nitty gritty things lah. she tend to 一根竹竿打翻一艘船。she keeps on telling me to keep a close eye on the CL as she find the CL handles the baby too roughly. for example, nanny pat too hard to burp baby or sayang baby to sleep. she said it might hurt the baby's spine and internal organs. she attributed the frequent farting to arise from inadequate warming up of my ebm. and nanny always forgot to close the lid to the container which contains cooled boiled water. and many other things which i dun bother to remember lah. i dunno how to tell her that she's taking things too negatively in case she got the impression that i'm siding an outsider instead of her. i'm slowing taking over the handling of my gal though, from feeding her to changing diapers. i've not learnt how to bath her yet.

dingdong, think u have to practise selective listening to what ur mum says lor... my mum over last weekend also hear lotsa stories from my aunties, then yesterday specially came to spot check on my cl...luckily my cl passed her test! LOL

ashley - i once brought my ameda pump out when i go suntec to buy some stuffs for baby but then hor v sian to lug it ard when shop ... i just bought a manual avent pump to bring out but v tiring to use if using it all the time ..
