(2009/03) March 2009 MTBs

alfafa,
Woohoo, skiing...its very tiring one...though it looks easy. I was actually sweating in -20plus environment, imagine that! I skied for the first time and body aching all over the day after. Be very careful esp when u r bringing Gracie there cos it can be slippery and novice can be falling all over the place and knocking into u as they can't control their speed. I was guilty as one :p

hmmmm i prolly wont be able to go since its not goin to be a weekend...
sad.gif
nvm... we'l have one on a wkend for those mummies who cnt make it on wkday... we ownself learn ba.. LOL!

teddybaby - i use the ergo carrier. havent used the beco. ergo is good for heavier babies...my gal is 10kg now, and its not a problem carrying her...think can carry up to 40lbs...

hi mommies,

I just got back from ClubMed Bintan. hehe..

here's my review about the place:

we are provided the following in our room:
1. Lucky Baby Brand Baby cot
2. Pigeon steriliser good for 2 milk bottles
3. Lucky baby food warmer.
4. Johnson baby powder
5. Johnson baby oil
6. Baby bathtub

The Waterfall restaurant, which is the main restaurant that cater for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner has a section for babies and toddlers equipped with microwave, a mini fridge stocked with yoghurt, heinz baby jars, green apples, full cream milk and mineral water.

i am impressed by the baby porridge that the chef prepared for our babies. (oh i went with a gf and her 13mth old baby and hubby)

the cehf has planned different porridge variety for our babies for different meals.. fish porridge, chicken porridge combined with different vegetables like carrots, potato, spinach, brocolli etc..

Its very yummy.. my gf's baby will finish up 2 bowls... hehe.. bree is not so keen on porridge.. so its either i will eat her share or my gf's baby will.. hahahha..

not much activities for babies though.. except for swimming.. but i think our kids will enjoy their mini club/ petit club when they reach 2 yrs old..

we brought Bree to the beach for a walk.. let her play with sand.. but didn't let her swim.. regret man.. i should have carry her and dip in the seawater..

their beach is like a private beach.. its really clean.. we saw them clean up their beach area, the sand and the water every morning.. their pools are maintained well too..

its our first time there.. will likely go back again.. in Asia.. there is no baby sitting services for babies under 2 yrs old. unlike in european countires.. i was told by one of the G.O. from petit club that they will start in dec this yr for ClubMed Phuket but he asked us to call up to confirm.

I came back sunburned.. hehe.. after my water aerobics session.. bree is asleep with hubby carrying her waddling in the pool.. hehe.. she always fall asleep in pools.. no matter what time i brought her for a swim.. kekek.. water therapy.. haha..

she kinda enjoy the whole trip.. think for us as well.. i did sneak a few glasses of wine during dinner.. kaka.. bad mommy...

thks moomooland. My only concern for ergo is since its bulky and heavily padded, will ur gal feels warm inside?

lenny,
Wow, Clubmed Bintan sounds very BB friendly. How much per nite there?

teddybaby,

there is a promo that kids stay free till next yr april..

depends on which category room u are going for though.. we are kinda lucky cos we got free ugrade from superior sea view to deluxe sea view..

bree is exicted to see what was placed on our bed everyday.. we had a ribbon with flowers done up with towels and the second day.. an elephant.. for my gf.. they did a swan for her baby..

the housekeeper kinda decorated her cot every day with her toys..

Hahaa, bought Baby Yoplait from Cold Storage (oh yeah, they have 1 for 1 now) and Keenan's face was first "screw up...then disgust...then wanna puke..then finally swallow"....managed half and cup and gave up :p

Think i'll skip the Fox sale, doesnt sound like there's anything for boys leh...maybe better luck for Carter's sale? Oh yah, all Toy RUs having sale i think

btw, im interested to get the romper extender, but i want the round edge ones, not rectangular shaped ones...anyone recall the BP?

Alfafa, I'm with Sinmey on wkday! Heh. Yea. Can see moiiesha and gracie. Hope your skiing went all well? heh!

Btw, do u girls know where to get cheap and good thermals or long john for bb? Haha....

(LIVE FROM LAKE TAHOE aka winter wonderland): snow snow snow everywhere! non 4wds must be snow chained and move at no more than 30mph. babies are all fully rugged up in snow bibs, snow jackets/boots/gloves and head/ear muffs. Toddlers are raring to hit the course. C'mon Gracie, it's time to make a baby snowman!

cindy, sinmey,
ok confirmed. pick a weekday ladies. 2nd week of dec yah. btw, for me, i'm more into fabric / felt accessories with teensy bits of sewing involved. so it's v v diff from the bp ones. i'm quite sian of seeing the same type of clips everywhere so prefer to do something unique. bring your ribbons along though, still need to line the clips first. speaking of which, need to buy more clips! arrgghh

you can get felt from spotlight. just buy the cheaper acrylic felt which comes in small pieces. but felt is v exp no matter what. can try daiso too. get as many colours as possible.

just saw kris/missy/vicky/prospers' ribbon clips. thumbs up!! v v v nice.
your girls are v lucky!

ok gotta go make a snow man hehehe

back. tired as a dog. best part is after the cunningly treacherous walk up the tiny little slope I was already half dead.
Treacherous because the snow (beautiful pure white) was so soft that I sank knee deep into it at times. tiring sia. Gracie was comfortably rugged up and snoozing away in my pikkolo carrier strapped to my chest. we are really lucky to get fresh snow this early in the season.
happy.gif

could only watch the rest play with sleighs while gracie slept throughout the trip. aiiiiiiiiiii miss my hubby too. if only he was here.

cindy, how cold is the place you are bringing bb to? unless you are talking severe winter like scotland or toronto for example long johns are not really necessary as there are other options. It's best to have clothes you can layer as most times you would be moving between indoor/outdoor. e.g she didn't even need a long john at lake tahoe. granted she had snow bibs etc but that's because we brought her skiing. What I do during cold days is team a normal LS Tshirt/turtleneck with a pair of tights, then add another top and pants over. e.g fleece ones for v cold days. I would also put on 1 more layer of socks over her tights. If necessary, another piece of outer coat. For night time, I simply put her in a fleece sleep suit. Add an inner layer of bodysuit plus tights if necessary.

btw, when buying coats for bbs buy it a little larger so that the sleeves are long enough to completely cover their hands. you can get gloves too but I personallyn find gloves useless for our babies at this age as their hands are waaaaaay too small to keep the gloves on. You will likely end up losing them :p

Greetings to All from Shanghai!

Weather's been good albeit the smog since we've arrived. Have been thoroughly entertained by a Shanghai wedding the other night. If you ever come to Shanghai, stay at the Pullman Skyway. Rooms are spacious for families, big beds and cushy furnishings. Also it's near the unique characteristics of Shanghai alleys Tian Zi Fang where all the artsy outlets and eateries are.

Wow, lucky Gracie! Rare to have fresh snow at this time of year.

Mummies who are travelling, don't forget to check out my FB pics for winter clothing rentals. I have more that are un photographed so do e-mail me for more details. Will respond as soon as I can.

But this week is a little stressful because my parents and DH are away. So it's just me in my 3rd week of work with the active little one who is pulling up to stand at every opportunity, opening cupboards, refusing to latch and best of all, trying to cruise when she is barely standing. Fun times!

alfafa:: hahajust gg to HK but i heard from friends who's just come back from that place that its'super cold now at 10 to 17deg and worst at disneyland. Do u think i should skip the long john part then? Wondering if can don't buy the long john, else i might end up wearing more pairs of leggings for her at one time.

second wk of dec hard for me ley cause i'm in hk till thurs. Is the wk starting 14th dec ok for u both? ANYDAY is fine!
