Danryan,
Newborn diapers...
Depending on weight of BB,
there are some BBs who skipped NB diapers.

there's also March Baby fair by Mother & Baby magazine, last year it was at Suntec, should be same venue this year. Can check it out as well.

bizz,

Class not really interesting but informative. I find my instructor not so good bec' she keep jumping topics. But her info is quite informative and i learn more. So i am not complaining.

I find it tiring and a bit lazy to attend the lesson nowadays but it is really informative so i 'force' myself to go. Luckily i didn't wait until march.. manage to squeeze in the jan class.

Felicia,
I have been battling with my weight my whole life. I think I will be very depressed with my weight after delivery. Haiz..

Ellysia,
My BP is high whenever I measured at the clinic, but ok when I take my own readings at home. I had dizzy spells quite recently too. So hb & I had started gg home (my mum's place) for dinner instead of eating outside. Afterall, home cook food still healthier. My mum oso very encouraging. Keep asking us to go home for dinner. Maybe you can do that too.
happy.gif
I think your mum can help to prepare food that helps to control your blood glucose. More steam fish and vegetable to replace rice during dinner. Jia you, we only have 4 more months to go.

pkdust,
My Edd on 16 June, I am in the beginning of my 24th week.

Zu En,

My mum quit cooking since i started work. Nowadays she eat my own cooking! My MIL cooking not so healthy.. and po piang tok to her on nutritional cooking also. My MIL nowadays also lazy to cook liao.

I cook on sat so that i can cook food i like with less sugar. If i want to cook for dinner during weekdays, feel v tired so i didn't do so.

If yr BP is high, better control yr food diet cos BP is also v impt.

feifei...

Ellyisa,
i see..simple meal lor..But hor, dun eat too much those fat yellow noodles cos my mum kept telling if eat too much yellow noodles, bb will be yellowish leh...If hungry, take some biscuits lor or fruits...mayb take those big fuji apple...I always feel full after eating 1..

maryann,
There will be a motherhood and Baby fair end of March at expo wor...Duno whether if there is any good deals there wor...

I also heard that TMC giving the Pampers NB yellow diapers...I was tinking of buying 1 more pack of NB daiper, then 2 packs of Z size diapers..

ZuEn,
Me also been eating dinner at my mum's place a lot more often, around 4-5 times a week. It's lot more healthier!
happy.gif

As for blood pressure, maybe you are too gan chiong @ the clinic. I usu have to take around 3 readings before my BP goes down to normal. The nurses there always tell me to relax and close my eyes when taking the BP reading, hehe.

Ellysia,
Wah, not bad you can cook so at least food's healthier. I can't really cook - hubby's a better cook than me.
embarrassed.gif

Thanks gals, then I will take mine to be 24 weeks. So those in 24weeks, are we 6 going to 7 months of pregnancy? So is it consider as 3rd tri? Because I read a book and it says 3rd tri starts from 28th weeks.
I just wish June will come as soon as possible although not mentally prepared but just wish it will be end of pregnancy soon. Because just feel very tired nowadays. Even after walking for a while feel like having leg cramps and exhausted. Sometimes even panting. Anyone sharing the same experience as me?

pkdust...
its normal to feel like that... its reali not easy to be carrying a big tummy ard... wats more, the tummy has yet to grow to full size... but hor frankly... after baby comes out, life is even more tiring leh... :p

i advise all 1st time mummies hor... to sleep as late as u can on weekends! cos when baby comes, no more such luxury already... i miss those days when i laze in bed until 10am or even noon.

hi pkdust,
I think 3rd trimester is from 27 or 28 weeks. I'm at 23 weeks now... also feeling very tired. every day sleep at 10pm, wake up at 745am, if not don't feel rested.

think there's some confusion to number of weeks. you can count it from the first day of your last period. so let's say your 1st day of your last period was 5th Sept (like me), then now you are 24 weeks, 6days into your pregnancy. so techically the 1st 2 weeks you are actually not pregnant yet but it's the way the doctors count.

feifei,

Ya TMC will give us NB pampers.

pkdust,

Are u lacking in calcium?

My leg will cramp a bit if i walk steps up too fast or too many steps at one time.

I have leg cramps at night quite often also.

Tera,

I can't cook before married but i learn to cook 1 year before customary cos we got our new house early and weekend me and hb will go to our new house so i will experiment cooking. By the time i customary and stay in, my cooking ored pass liao.

I used to cook chicken curry but now cannot eat curry so i stop liao. Sat i will sometimes cook chinese soup (lotus soup or chicken soup), honey chicken wings, chilli prawns, fried meat + veg, or fried veg.

Now cos watching my sugar, last sat my dinner i cook dishes with less sauces and no sugar (just plain salt) so its plainer but healthier. Then i cook fish soup + tofu + mushroom, v nutriontional.
Lunch only me and hb so i cook only fried meehoon with veg + prawns + meat.

feifei,

I didn't eat a lot of yellow noodles. I eat meehoon during lunch.. but get hungry v fast. Maybe i shd buy apples and bring 1 apple to work everyday..like wat u suggest.

Tera,

Maybe i try to see if i can cook simple dishes for weekday night which take lesser time to prepare. Must crack my head to tink.

Ellysia,
Wah, you are making me v hungry with mention of all those food (curry chicken, honey chicken wings etc)! Hehe. Yah, keep it up, whatever you have cooked (tofu + fish soup) is very nutritous. Jia you!
happy.gif

The fish + tofu soup is a new creation i just done last week. I no cook before.. just follow recipe which i found at the internet..then i adapt a bit.

Tofu is v hard to cook bec it gets squash easily.

hee.. i find cooking fun lah.. become my hobby lor though tiring at times
happy.gif

Ellysia,
For weekday, maybe can have steamed fish and veg? Then somedays can have prawn, chicken, tofu etc. But try to have veg every meal. The protein (meat) part can change to have variety.

Ellysia,
Hehe, very easy for me to say hor..cos i dun even cook :p but am bouncing ideas off what i usu eat at my mum's place. Yah, try tonight!
happy.gif

tonight i am considering want to go spring amk to buy new bra or not.. tinking to buy non-wired ones to replace those perfect mum ones lor.

Ellysia,
Ya, that's why we are starting to go home for dinner. At least less salt and can stay away from those deep fried food and fast food. My mum cooks for my bro & family, so she just have to cook more to feed my hb & me. Hehe. I dun usually cook at home so seldom store fresh food like vege. Even if want to cook, oso not balance diet. Ended up with alot of canned food and fried food. Moreover, I am a beginner, I always end up putting alot of seasoning, so I dun think my home-cook food is any healthier. Hehe.

Tera,
Ya, I think so too, that's why I always have normal readings at home but high readings at the clinic. But I did notice that BP has risen as compared to pre-preggy.

pkdust,
I take 24 weeks as the end of the 6th month. 25th week = start of 7th month. I dun think we are in the 3rd trimester yet. I think start from 28th week.

Cactus,
I tot I am the only one who sleeps so much. I will be in dreamland by 10+pm. Sometimes, I will go to bed as early as 9.30pm. But I wake up at 6am. ;p I heard from a colleague who is currently in her 3rd trimester that we might suffer from insomnia. Now, she wakes up in the middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep until a few hours later. Scary..

About cooking, I used to cook before preggy. Since preggy, been very lazy to do so. As now my appetite is better, I will be starting it again on weekends as hubby is complaining that we always eat out. Even so, its so difficult to please him as I love rice noodles, soupy stuff and western food now, and he doesn't. So have to crack my head everytime.

Diapers - Been using pamper premium for my #1 when he was first born. After 2nd mth, daytime I use drypers and night time pampers. So far so good coz he no golden buttocks. I may try mama poko NB or drypers NB this time round. Petpet is cheap and good for daytime use, but not so good for night use, in my own opinion.

my girl dont like to use pet pet, not too sure why oso. But agreed with Veniz, pet pet not so good for nite use. For nite use better use mamy poko or pamper. But for me i think mamy poko is the best.

Ellysia,
Its not really the cramp I feel. I do not have leg cramps. But just easily feel tired nowadays.

Cactus,
Nowadays I also sleep at 10pm and wake up around 7am. Then during the weekend, I will sleep even more and take a nap.

felicia...
i so agree abt mamy poko...
happy.gif
for us, pampers still leak during night use.

tera...
i used to be quite lousy in cooking too... but the best thing i cook now is porridge... haha.. for my boy... and yeah... b4 preggy with my minnie, i used to cook at least once every weekend. now preg... very tiring to cook, wats more 1st tri was having ms...
actuali the easiest thing to cook is pasta...
happy.gif
u can give it a try...

Felicia, my son is big now so we only use huggies (blue pack) for him for night use, he uses drypers at my MIL hse. I was surveying the diapers at supermarket on Sat, he saw Mamypoko extrasoft, he just chanted the advert which he sees everytime he watches Kids Central. Still can tell me 'mummy, extra soft leh'. Quite funny, haha.

Crystal, my due date also brought forward a day. Dunno why. Doc said my baby size is like one week before my actual weeks, but brain and heart measurements are in tune with my actual weeks. Made me think size small, functions big? I also dunno, doing a rescan this Thurs, will ask about baby's length and size (coz my son told mum that his mei mei will look like my sil. Made me so uneasy now)

soyabean, haha, yes, pasta very easy to cook leh. I like to cook that also, but cannot everytime lar. I used to make wantons and soyabean milk for my hubby before marriage and during #1 preggy, but then hor, everysince my MIL copycat me with her version so much tastier than mine (that time I was still staying with her), I gave up all these dishes.

Babycupid,
Maybe you need to find those watson in neighbourhood area. Last weekend i just brought some packs from Watson at Khatib central.

Soyabean/ Veniz,
My girl cannot wear pamper size XL, so we use Mamy poko, coz the XL is bigger. For drypers size XL oso bit small for my girl but not worth buy XXL, so we r still sourcing oth brand for her day use.

veniz...
yes... pasta is easiest! :p but i hvnt cook it for a long time, cos my fussy boy doesnt like it... so i hv to cook other stuff... for me, my best dish is fried rice... haha...

oh... another simple dish to cook is garlic fried rice... then boil a soup with tofu, egg, mushroom and pork... yummy! as u can see, i can oni cook no-brainer foods...

felicia...
yeah... MP cutting is bigger... and hehe... now they even come in XXL... how old is your girl btw? can toilet train already? u try huggies b4? their cutting oso not so small... and i find it very good for day use.

soyabean,
My girl turn 2 yrs this Saturday!
No toilet train. I give up after few attempt. My collegue told me when i enrol to childcare the teacher will train her, so i oso lazy to train her.
Yup, we try huggies before, cant really remember the size. Coz now we had plenty of dryper and mamy poko stocks at home. So, try to use up the stock before we buy new brand.

crystal,
Wow, ur due date change to so early?

Tera,
Tks..

Ellysia,
Can cook some soup lor, add vege, fishball, meatballs, chicken meat lor...hv vege, soup and meat..hee

soyabean, fried rice is also easy. But my hubby dun like me cook fried food at home (same theory as his family lar). When staying with his family, they dun like me to cook fried food, even any type of cooking. SIL will always give blackface eventhough house not hers. Then I shift out so can cook these, he also complains too oily. Gave up on fried dishes now. I like to buy pork ribs, noodles and yong tau foo from market, throw everything into pot and voila, one main dish for all, done! Also like you, cooking easy dishes now, haha.

Felicia, 2yrs old still quite young, takes time to toilet train, cannot rush. My son was trained after he is 2.5yrs old. But sleeping time still on diapers coz he refused to pee even when we wake him up and stand him on potty to do so. He super lazy, will hold urine untill last min, thus sometimes will complain that his penis painful. Have to bring him go circumsize within next few yrs becoz of this.

Just got out from a meeting. Am feeling soooo sleepy!

soyabean,
thanks for the tip, i will try to cook pasta and garlic fried rice one of these days. just curious, for the pasta, do you make your own sauce or get those ready-made ones? :p

crystal,
no prob, i will update it. wow, your EDD is now v early.
happy.gif

veniz,
so yur SIL is bigger in build? is tat y u r so uneasy? dun worry too much, okie? i recall one of the forumer here mentioned earlier on tat one bb was borne pretty heavy @ over 3kg but now tat she grown up, she is normal size oreadi? also kids' talk just take it as a pinch of salt yeah? u shd hear wat my nephew said abt my bb's scan at one point in time & he is already 8 yrs old. the chap took one look at the scan pic n announce to one n all tat my bb looked like a monkey! Darn, i was pissed but choose to ignore lor, anyway my MIL scolded him, so i jus pretend not to hear.... *shake head*
btw, now can still take CTR of bb? my gynae told me she cant do for mine, so she always scan parts of bb n give us the wtg...

Veniz,
My company's childcare only accept toilet trained children, tats why i'm quite anxious on this. But now, i might change plan, let her enrol into neighbourhood childcare 1st.
Kids are like tat, my girl actually know when she wanna poo or pee , but she dont want to sit on potty. She prefer to poo on her diaper. Then finish she'll told us, she poo poo liao.

Pasta, i love it too! Long time nvr eat liao coz my mil dont like western food. Maybe one weekend, just cook for myself. hehe....
I'll use those ready made sauce, easier.

Felicia,
Have you started sending your gal to childcare?
This is also my second preg and my gal just hit one year old now. Dunno why recently start to get a bit worried about how to cope with two kids. My gal is still learning how to walk properly. Was thinking of sending my gal to childcare when I give birth in June. Dunno if she will adjust to it because by then she is only 1.5 years.

pkdust,
nope, same as you. Thinking to send her over in June but my collegue told me is better enrol her in a month before our due date. Coz she said normally need 1-2 weeks for the kid to adjust themself there. And we can rest more during confinement as #1 wont be there to disturb.
Nut i'm still considering to enrol before or after. *headache*

feifei / tera,

yup, EDD now becomes ADD liao. i going for c-sec, so my gynae prefers it to be done 3 wks before my EDD which was initally on 1st Jun oreadi. she gave me the period b/w 12th may to 24th may to choose from n my MIL got a relative to refer to those "tong shu" n was told tat 15th May is an auspicious date for bb n me, so we went for tat date. i would be in 37th wk during tat wk. but time for the c-sec is very early cos according to "tong shu", we r told tat bb has to be delivered b4 9am.... now i half-hearted actually whether to go ahead wif delivery so early @ 37th wk or not cos afraid bb comes out oreadi, hse will be very noisy n all my couplehood time will all be gone + twosome becomes threesome... *chiam* n no more lazin in bed till 10/11am over wkends...
sad.gif

hi pkdust, I agree with Felicia. I also heard that it's better to send an older child to child care earlier than later so that she won't feel that she is being displaced by the presence of the younger child. another way is instead of sending to childcare, and to get a maid to look after both the older and the younger one?
