Astro: dun be dishearten, today is only the 1st time u are trying with him.. try repeated everyday for about 2 weeks, soon he will grasp it and will be able to do it.. u see, all it takes its just 1 day and he has learnt how to slip liao.I agree with pax, diff to sit up from lying down position, its much easiser if they woll over to tummy position before pushing himself up.. much much easier and he won;t be fustrated.
 


pax: i saw ur post on facebook, i have not tried making my yogurt yet..lazy leh.. will start tonight, then i let u know if i am successful..so u got in touch with babetitude regarding the bemine?

That's wat the parents will always have to do....worried for their children....heee...
 
Pax: ya.. i am just worried abt pull to stand, and sit up by himself.. i am not worried abt him not crawling or whatsoever.. that to me is not impt.. coz think of it this way.. if he could just pull himself and sit himself up.. he is almost walking liao!! i let him hold my fingers.. he is almost racing from one end of the living room to the other and back.. VERY fast..

ehhh.. the problem is.. he is FIXATED on any toy that he is given. unless u remove it from him.. he will still be studying in great detail the toy he is holding onto at the moment.. hmmm.. he will reach forward.. butt still stucj to the floor.. if too far.. nvm,, play with the one he was holding too.. and if u removed the toy tht he was holding on too.. he play with his hands lor! argh...

i found their online retailer, but they haven't officially open for biz...

i made my 2nd batch last nite. decided to leave it till tonite, more than 18hrs. QQ said that she left the yogurt for 1.5days. set beta. maybe the temp not optimum. according to some literature i research on the web, the optimum temp is 40-45oC. so usually they set the yogurt in a warm bath and do it thru the day.
 
star, pax. my yogurt is now still setting. started this morning.
can do some tests la.. like a scientist. haha!
after 8 hours, scope some out. then take somemore samples out after 16 hours, 32 hours, then you will see the difference.

actually Teng is ok lah! aiyo. i thot he cannot stand or cruise or wat.. one day, he will surprise u. u jus do the leg exercises and work his muscles. BE HAPPY! he's ok! aiyo, u got me all worried, thinking he's way too far behind.
he's easy to take care... and u got time to yak here...

i think u shld spend more time talking to him, read to him... i'm gg to get u worried on this one. Boys talk later than girls in more cases. i u/stand fr veryberry previously that bcos of that, we shld always talk to the boys A LOT!!! really a lot... i can tell u that there's a diff. we, as in me, hubby and grandparents, always talk to M and he "eavesdrop" on our conversations. he learned to talk and speak in sentences much much much earlier than some kids whose parents r always bz and taken care by maids. there's a diff.

since u've decided to be SAHM, do smthg to make the time worthwhile. u can nurture him..
physically, other than being on the heavy side, he's DEFINITELY FINE! 100%!

its true that boys started taking much later than gals.
my nephew only managed to speak 2/3 sylb at the age of 2 1/2 yrs. u can imagine my sis was SO worried.
and she got no family support somemore there. to the extend she brought my nephew for evaluation.
she was like crying everytime she start talking abt it
 
Michelle: yes. mood swing.. and no joke regarding how stressed ur sis is.. coz i am as well.. just dun want to state explicitly how i feel now coz afterall this is a public space..

Star: he can flip long ago.. just that seldom flip.. today flip everytime i lie him on his back .. that's good.. now i just can't figure out how to push his legs in so that he can tuck them up and sit up onto his butt.. ok.. i am the one with the slowness.. not my son.. dammm..

Pax: ya.. that i know.. abt boys' slowness to speak. and i am not very bothered abt that. coz he is already sreeching nonstop.. and i value my peace now.. when he starts talking.. then i got to.. which at times.. i value silence more.. miser and I are by nature quiet. ha .. astro is quiet.. pls dun fall off the chair.. and to us.. i dun really mind he yak late.. as long as he yak eventually.. ok to me.. jus tthis stupid movement .. coz a bit too ridiculous. basically. he is an immobile infant.. no?

nvr heard of immobile infant. maybe u ask mash how's Jaylen doing.. Jaylen also big bb wor. u dun worry abt his physical development. i tell u har, i got big brains hor and good memory, i'll SUAN u to HELL if u next time complain that Teng is not talking. :p

Astro: maybe to help, once he on his tummy, he needs lift his tummy and butt up and then move butt backwards so that he can tuck and bend his legs almost like puppy position, after tat he just need to lean back and plonk his butt down, he will be sitting liao. got it?
 
sar, tian dun crawl on 4s, she crawl like a worm... will she stay like this forever ah? until she walks? sigh! i dun care one, cause she seldom crawl also. she stands.
 
QQ: s iao u say this cos i have been observing Rae and i think she is also starting to crawl like a worm leh, wiggle not crawl.. and a very slow one too !!! so far i am very inpress with Leia, she perfected the crawl man..hehehe
 
star, i suspect tian has weak arm poewr like me, therefore no enough strength to support herself. leia is steady..but rae should have stronger arm power since she went backwards lastt ime. haha!. have seen her in crawling.

QQ: She dun really crawl... she will attempt to move/wiggle very very slowly then next moment she will be flat tummy on the floor and when she grab her toy, she will quickly move backwards to sit up.. seems like she feels very insecure on tummy position and must always sit up. So this cycle repeats, she will try and inch forward and quickly move back to sit up, inch forward then sit up again, over and over again.. and the funny thing is tat she always end up moving further and further backwards, away from the toy she was trying to reach... its quite funny leh. Maybe this is the result of her crawling backwards, so now she can only move backwards and not forward!

i took a photo of myself with the pants, + girrafe t at home last night. hb kept asking me to get my body slanted a bit so that i look slimm. alamak, then a bit too jia3 (fake) already leh. haha!!
 
star, me waiting for hb to drive here, then i drive home. he is going to china for a week this sunday. then jialat liao, i alone fighting and jaga tian next week. sil also having exam and she has no time to play w tian. sigh!! tough week ahead.
 
star, forgot to mention. i dangerous driver cause long time never drive then now a bit jialat. i cannot estimate well the distance and driving speeds of the cars at my back. sigh!!! have to really practice hard.
 
Pax: ya. i said it here.. that i wun be concerned.. and like u me got elephant memory.. but not sure if brain is equally big.. but yakking to me.. is seriously... not as important as him moving abt.. God gave us two ears and one mouth.. so i would rather him use his ears more. and move the gap less.. so i am seriously fine with it.. unfortunately. he is screeching already.. and very clear diction of papa.. in chinese.. hence he is really a cinaboy.. in other words.. he will most probably sit there and bore u to death kind with his endless chatter than to move his butt and go play a game of squah.. just like his mum... !

better becareful always check blindspot, signal and drive carefully.. now i have Rae, i damn kia si..!
 
pax: immboile infant. is a term i coined myself.. infant .. cause young baby.. immobile coz can't move.. put them together.. immobile infant = bb who can't move??..

i think after wriggling they will start to crawl... hee...seth wriggled for a while before he decided that crawling produces less fiction and maybe more comfy on his protruding tummy! :p however, when he sees something he wants, he'll go on his tummy again for convenience and speed! =S and star...think they prefer to sit up to explore their toys once they can do it. seth crawls and sit up alot too... even when we put him on his tummy, he'll scramble up immediately. yup.. i think it's not really comfy lyin on ur tummy the whole day ba... and u can't really look at things when u r at the lowest viewpoint. =D
 
joelle: wat a relief... so seth also the same..hehehe but its so funny the way Rae must always quickly sit up.. like she is frighten of being on tummy. And her need to quickly sit up always gets her stuck at the edge of her play yard cos "go stan" /astern till no space liao and then she will cry for help.
 
star: yaya!! seth and rae the same!! (astro take note hor..seth's turn to be the same!! ;p) i also thot he'll be the wriggly worm forever. but as he sits up more, guess he finds it easier to jus crawl on fours n sit back..then lifting himself up fr tummy position. it's gradual wan la..started with a few steps then plop on floor n continue..then lately i realise he is more on his knees than tummy liao. thou when excited, still on tummy..alamak..it''s like makin a dive for the object by goin down to tummy when nearing it...:S
 
Astro: make it fun for teng and urself lah, dun be too stress abt it, teng very smart, he will get it in no time, i think u have to relax more, treat it as play time for both of u, if he can't do it, or tired liao, just roll on the mat and have fun..hehehe.

Yup, i agree with starfruit, don be sooo stress, just relax. starting in the 1st place, i also like u, afraid my son won't be able to sit up, and also won't knw how to crawl. then my mum told me some bb they don crawl 1, they straightaway learn how to walk 1. Maybe yours is like that, don like to crawl, but maybe will learning walking 1st.

i think it depends on bb's personality. i think rae is the siao jie sweetie pie type, very guai very good wat. Leia is active, like anna, in fact she doesnt crawl that much because we have limited space in auntie's place, so she's been standing, trying to walk and knock herself a few times. very stubborn, pull her away but she still wants to crawl back.
 
star, pink, pax, TSY: think need to 'see more open' abt this.. after all he ain't 'mobile' for quite a long time.. what is another 2 mths before he reach 1 yr (the limit) right?? .. jialat ah? the way i try to console myself..?.. is this a consolation in the first place?

TSY: confirmed he wun crawl liao..it's almost 99.9% confirmed.. it's ok with me. i am just paranoid abt him not sitting and pulling to stand by himself..
 


I haven't got time to read archives.

Astro: Erm.. Does Teng have those sit-to-stand type of toys or activity tables? Unlike walkers, these toys are stationary. Will encourage the baby to pull himself up from a sitting position.
