nowadays, if I only buy things for kira. I don buy anything for myself...hardly...was just talking abt this with a friend too. She used to buy things for her 2 girls and I always tell her to get sth for herself instead, now I'm the same! Fate!

SQ: ha! on the contary. i am quite letargic.. and broods alot. tempermental and sulky .. most of the time.. not fun person to be with.. mummies who saw me described me as shy.. haha.. i think they have a shock coz the way i conduct myself in person.. is so different from my online personaitly wor.. but then again.. we still do not know one another for a long time yet

hi, do any mummies bring her bb to swim? if have, wat are the prepartions to make? Mm...do u use float or just hold on to the BB? do u let bb wear swimming clothes or just half-naked for boys can liao???heee...
I feel like bring my 8 mths old son to swimming, but don knw wat to prepare...

suddenly got moody regarding teng's progress.. so hard to get him to sit up and pull to stand BY HIMSELF!! *Sigh*
(there u go SQ, my mood fluatates like the weather.. now it is going to rain @ woodlands liao!)
Crying During the Night
Some babies make a game of calling out for you or dropping toys out of the crib for you to pick up. Other babies cry after you put them to bed. Check on your baby, but keep the lights dim and don't pick him up. If baby is ok, put him on his tummy, pat his back for a minute or two, and leave.
If you try this for a few weeks and baby still wakes up and cries during the night, you may try letting them cry. Here is a way that works for many parents. Pick a weekend night. When baby cries, check on him and rub or pat baby's back, then tell him you'll be back in 10 minutes. Check on baby every 10 minutes even if he is not still crying, until he falls back to sleep. It probably won't take more than a night or two to end the habit for good.

sit up? pull to stand? No. self taught. at the same age, Jo is def much faster than M. both of them always wan to stand, so once they learned to do it themselves, no issue at all.
i think Teng may be too heavy, that he himself find it a chore to stand, so u got to help him. that's why for big bb, there's always a worry that they will lag behind, bcos too big and heavy to move ard. takes up too much energy. too tiring. u got to help and exercise Teng more often. Encourage him. Bribe him. can be done.

pax, he leans backwards.. instead of forward.. hmmm.. any tips or clever ideas to 'reverse' this? coz i specualte if he can change the direction.. then most prob he can grab on something IN FRONT of him and pull up.. instead of leaning backwards.. using us as a support and 'push' himself up.. u can get what i mean??
on sitting up. tried to teach him just now.. he onli keep flipping over (now very good at it liao.. last time REFUSED to flip).. starfruit said try to push the leg to the front so that he gets the movement and then can tuck the legs in to push himself up to sitting position.. tried and tried.. first few times can.. he will cry and fuss a while.. next few times. i also find it vry tiring myself.. *sigh*

why is he leaning backwards? he can sit well on his own right? u can put his fav food or toy in front of him, jus a little beyond his reach. will he try to reach for it? if he can lean fwd to reach, put the toy or food on the table in front of him. if he really wan, he will lean forward, put his hand on the floor. u got to guide him. keep encouraging him. smile, cheer, edge him on. jiayou jiayou. clap for him. let him know u r happy that he's trying. LOTS OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND PRAISES! if u keep getting unhappy with all his attempts, he also sian liao, dun wan to try. get it?

keira can sit uo quite long liao leh, but then she only 6mths when she did that, thk that time, she is already 8.6kg
this morning, noticed she inching forward, after lifting her bottom and tummy. she managed to moved from center to the side of the bed.

PAx: not sure why he leans backwards instead of forwards. can sit well on his own. will reach very far for a toy beyond his reach.
must say. i was like a clown liao.. but i dun feel making any headway..
for lying down. give him my fingers.. he can pull himself to sit.. but that' not sitting up by himself.. no?

actually hor, it's not ez to sit up from lying down on back leh. can u do sit up? i dun think i can do a lot liao. i agree that using starfruit's mtd is beta.
can u show him his toy and then put it on the table in front of him, say a coffee table. then pile lots of toys on the coffee table. will he attempt to put his palms on the flr and push his bum up? help him a little. encourage him. maybe when he stands up and get his toys, he realise that there's a whole new world on the table???
