She gets eczema outbreak just by eating biscuits that has a milk as an ingredient...I am the one prone to allergy lah... but I wasn't so severe lah... I am only allergic to prawns leh... this girl allergic to milk and eggs... headache lah....

JT has been eating these days, but still must play a bit lah... but on Mon evening, she totally refused to eat at IL's house... cos she kept wanting SIL to play with her... and she refused to let hubby and I carry her cos she knows we're going to make her eat... faintz... then we had to slowly play with her then trick her to let us carry then bring her home... then I made cereal for her and she ate... I really give up lor this girl... keep throwing tantrums... already told ILs not to spoil her liao....

heard fr one of the mummy that her eczema outbreak is due to certain bath lotion she used. so now her dotter 6 yr old can only use certain shampoo. maybe is it due to this not food?

my col who is allegic to flour and her kid also allegic too. so she cannot eat a lot of thing which made of flour (mee, mee hoon, cake, bread etc).

Yah lor... she can't take MMR jab... maybe will delay till 18mth then see how's her allergy again. Imagine I only gave her egg yolk already like tat... if MMR jab dunno how... the polyclinic nurse says the doc will feed her a bit egg then watch her reaction there... if it gets bad then cannot have lor... sounds so wierd... think I will bring her back to PD 1st.

JT is already using special bath/hair cleanser... its definitely the food. she gets her allergic reaction just 15min after eating it....

Hehehe.... how to give Kate hair wor?? Dun worry lah, Kate will have more hair when she's older. I think normal soya bean she also won't like... cos now she doesn't even like tofu liao.. faintz.... I am thinking of mixing tiny quantities of the isomil with EBM then slower get her to drink... like start with 5 or 10% 1st.. but I'll wait till hubby comes back from his business trip before I try if not if she starts to reject food/milk, then I'll die!!!

Oh... JT took 6 unassisted steps yesterday!!! I'm hoping she will be able to walk when she turns 1!!

wah... so many walking bbs liao ar... ethan is so slow... record is only standing for 10secs unsupported only when he is watching commercials... then he tried walking... 1 step only he drop liao... but he so gian walking... wans ppl to hold then he walk... then he so happy he keep clapping his hands... look soooo cute... hee... n till now he still bo geh... haiz... teething for so long liao still nothing... hope he 5 5 got teeth then wun be so cranky liao...

so fast hor, first we came here to announce when bb starts rolling over and now we talk about them walking on their own. Time flies! Nat is walking non-stop now around the house, from one room to another. Her papa and I are always chasing after her, dunno why she tends to walk very quickly towards her destination, imagine a giant chasing little people.
Indeed it sounds weird, never heard of doc feeding the bb egg there and then.


mummies, any caterers to recommend? Anyone tried Four Seasons?

same same, tx also tried to walk for 1 step only and drop liao. but she still want to walk some more. she can only stand stable when she is focus on something if not...she will fal flat onto the floor(resue her a few times liao).

Yes, celebrating her birthday on christmas day! got the location but haven't booked stuff yet. deco was the first thing I settled cos scared birthdaydirect will take long time, kiasu me got it in early sept.

dora, did you ask doc what can jt take? maybe some special formula? so poor thing! hope she'll outgrow it....

ya, we are finishing the make-up classes in Nov. and taking break in Dec cos of the festive time (too many things!). We'll likely continue in Jan. There's not much new except that sometimes she try new things with them. But not strokes la...too young to learn. Sigh, everytime i see hannah so excited, i no heart to stop lor. Previous week she was sick, miss one class. Last week, when we went back, wah, u should see her...happy like nobody biz....smiling and smiling and giggling. How to discontinue lidat?

The abbott nurse called me to offer me the GainIQ, I told her JT is allergic to cow's milk, she said Pediasure is also not suitable... only isomil is suitable... but my fussy girl doesn't like the taste at all... haiz... if not pediasure sounds like what my picky eater needs... hopefully Cae's appetite will improve with pediasure

You want to try pediasure for Mandy? I know you are against flavouring and what not... but I was reading the brochure for Pediasure, it contains all the probiotics that is supposed to increase appetite... maybe you just want to try lor... cos altho they seem to be happy and developing, but no weight gain is still a cause for concern mah... if JT can take cow's milk, I'll put her on pediasure straight away so that I don't have to constantly fight with her during meal times... nowadays she will sometimes take her meal, sometimes refuse... like depends on her mood like tat... and after she refuse to take her meal and we are all worked up, she will keep kissing us... like she knows she made us angry.... wah lao this girl... like tat can get away with murder lor...

Most vaccines are protein in nature. It's just that MMR vaccine is cultured in a chicken embryo, so if there's an allergy to eggs, it is not advisible to take the vaccine.
And since measles vaccination is compulsory in singapore, if cannot take MMR then have to take the monovalent measles vaccine.

Now I am very vexed.. MIL is sick... her old lung problem came back, so most prob needs to be hospitalised etc etc... so she cannot take care of JT anymore... Now I only have 2 options... 1 is to put her in infant care..but she has such horrible eating habits, who would have the patience to spend 1 hr to feed her?? And besides she has so many different allergy....I would be very worried... dunno what the infant care would feed her... and if put in infant care, I might as well go back to work FT liao..the other option is that I quit my PT job and take care of her FT.... haiz.... and the worse thing is hubby is flying off tomorrow morning.... and tomorrow my SIL is taking leave to take of JT... while we wait for hubby to come back then sort out JT's care arrangement... luckily I'll be having holiday in 3 weeks time... having a real headache now...

THanks for the info. I read that on the internet too.. but there's american paediatric society's recommendation is still to take the MMR cos the risk is small. Think I'll bring JT to my PD nearer the date and seek her advise. I won't bring her to the polyclinic for this cos dun trust the docs there....

dora, *sayang*.... another option will be to look for a bbsitter? But must tell the bbsitter before hand all her issues loh..cos some will find it very mah fun (eg, last time when i was looking, got one refuse to look after her cos she said she had never handle a bb < 3 kg before!).

weekend tried kate on gain IQ..duno if she is not suitable or teething, but she refueses to take her naps though she is very tired..and she gets hungry very easily (wake up 3 times last night for milk!)!

with rdg to gain IQ, did u directly switch Kate over fr nan to gain IQ without giving her like say 3 feed of nan fm and then 1-2 feed of gain iq fm? or mixed them? what do u mean by not suitable, how to u know? I 'm gg to gave tx gain IQ after her ist birthday next sat. will follow the instruction by giving her 3 feeds of nan fm and then 1 feed of gain IQ fm for the first week and then slowly increase it.

wow piang, y'day, saw the price of gain IQ at NTUC cos $26.xx man...last mth saw only $25.xx.increase liao...

how abt ur relatives? u got any relatives who not working n got experience in babysit toddler?
else another way is to quit ur job n b a full time SAHM. In this way, u dun hav to worry wat abt JT in the infant care. Whether the caregiver got take note of all JT's allergies. Whether JT eating well in the infant care.
U hav to take good care of urself n dun worry too much..

jav is also taking gainIQ now. He is ok wif the milk but when he wakes up for his nite feed, he refuse to drink the milk after a few suckle. He will keep crying. Sigh.. so we decide to let him continue wif Nan 3 in the nite time n gainIQ in the daytime till he finish the tin of gainIQ.

Jav bday party was held during evening time. He was quite sleepy most of the time. My notti boi refuse to take his 2nd nap tat day. Due to his sleepyness n 70 plus guests, he was veri sticky to mi. I hav to carry him around to enterain the guests till my arms were numb. Poor boi manage to tahan all the way till the party ended at 9.30pm. In between i got try to make him sleep but he was too distracted by the noise from the guests. Haha.. Overall the party was great but mummy, daddy n jav was so tired.

aiyo, really headache hor? u're rite leh, put in infant care she most prob wldn't b taken v well of. i mean, even we lose it when we feed fussy bbs. they haf so many 2 take care of, y wld they bother? i noe u kinda depend on ur PT job 4 ur sanity. hahaha... n some income so can understand if u're reluctant to quit. like bloom said, haf u considered bb sitter? but u only need a PT one rite? dunno if there's such tings.

mandy haf been having such a bad temper these 2 days. prob too tired fr all e activities. just now she was so angry w me 4 making her eat. she banged everyting i gave her on e table. broke e thermometer case n e keychain. den repeatedly bang her own arm on e table until it looked a bit blue black. ouch! so i took away e table n she banged on e her leg. she looked reallyyyyyyyy pissed... q scary. she hadn't even eaten half a bowl but i really saw no pt continuing. sigh.. spoke 2 her sternly n she started to grab n hit at everyting angrily.. really dunno when eating can cease 2 b such a chore 4 her.

2~3 weeks ago was on leave so brought sophia to peek at an infantcare next to my block. it was feeding time, 2 teachers feeding 4 bbs. all 4 bbs guai guai eat! no need for bibs, high chair, toys to distract etc.. the bbs just sat quietly and waiting for their turn. within 5 mins ~ 10mins, they finish their food liao. was quite stunned actually. dunno if they were trained or the teachers there so lucky to have 4 fuss-free bbs?? i wonder how sophia be like if i had put her there... hmmm...

Ha ha...it seems like you are describing my Cae leh...EVERTHING...pulling bib, spitting food, scrubbing face, throwing tantrums, wriggling off...I think the bbs at the infantcare centre are the exceptionals...

I tried Pediasure Vanilla...its freakingly sweet...but at least Cae fusses less with it...altho he still needs to be spoonfed...arhhhhhhhhh...

Cae has been having an on-off low grade fever for a week liao...with a cough and runny nose too...he has been vomitting after meals as well...haizzz...I feel so guilty...he never had feeding problems or any sickness while I was breastfeeding him...dunno if it is connected or not...

freakingly sweet? sounds scary... but i still wld like 2 gif it a try. told hubby yest bt it. he was v agnst it. he tinks there must be some kinda bad chemicals in e FM or tt it has too much flavoring (seems e case) 2 make bbs eat more. but i feed until v pek cek, still hafta keep on worrying bt whether she takes enof... so 4 my sanity, i tink i shld try too. i dunno lah... mb i'll just buy a small tin n let her try. if her overall appetite increases n nt only 4 FM, den gd lah. if not, den i won't cont w it.

I can't find a nanny or relative cos JT is so difficult to feed, if nanny she'll probably starve her or kenna abused cos she will always make me flare up at her meal times as well. At least in infant care, its more transparent as there are other adults around.

I was talkig to my colleague today regarding JT's feeding problem and putting in infant care Her baby is also infant care. She was telling me somehow they have a way to make the babies eat... her girl is 6 days younger than JT... also have feeding problems, altho not as bad as JT... initially she also din believe the caregivers that her girl ate w/o problem, so she hide in a corner.. and her girl just sat there and guai guai finish her food in 15 min... her girl usually struggle to finish her food in 30min... she couldn't believe it either.... it could be the peer pressure... dunno whether its true for all babies tho'... tat's one of the reasons why I want to try putting JT there cos I really surrender liao... I really dunno how wat to do with her...

Actually we had plans to put JT in childcare when she is 18 mth cos we have decided we dun wan no.2 and I wan to pursue my career. And since she will be an only child, it'll be better for her to be in childcare so that sh can socialise. So the decision to put JT in infant care now is just bringing it fwd... altho I would prefer to put her in childcare when she can walk properly and can express her needs slightly better. Actually I dun really care abt this PT job... other than the fact that it offers me the flexibility and gives me pretty good money... and let my resume look better than just "housewife" so that I can go back to where I left off.... hopefully lah....
Abbott sent me the pediasure sample cos initially I wanted to try when she is 1 year plus to see if she has outgrown the allergy... but then after the goat's milk incident, I think I will only try after she's 2 years old. You want that tin? It's still unopened. I can pass to you.

You brought Cae to the PD? I read from the internet thatsymptoms of cow's milk allergy includes vomitting... and JT will have low grade fever when she consumes cow's milk. But she doesn't have vomitting, just hives all over. You better let the PD have a thorough check just in case, if its persistant.

If its yr direction to put JT in infant / child care...then u shld try it out...it may work...u wil never noe if u dun try...u can oso observe n monitor JT's behaviour in the care...if its really unsuitable...jus pull her out...some kids jus create havoc when their parents r ard...but they may b angels to other pple...

I brot Cae to the pd jus now...he was prescribed SEVEN med...faintzzz...antibiotics, cough, phelgm, reflux (x2), nose drop, throat redness...the pd concluded tat Cae is hvg reflux which results in the vomitting...he doesnt oni vomit durin / after milk...but durin / after porridge as well...

To all 8 Dec bbs...

afcai, not suitable can be bb rejecting the taste, tummy ache, diaehrea, rashes etc.

serene, so kate is not the only that does not like gain IQ, but looking at the vitamins, like Gain IQ got a higher concentration..but now not sure if all her fussiness is due to teething or what. Why do you want to switch from Nan 3 to gain IQ? hahaha.... sounds like the guest have a greater time than u all...
