TX has 3 birthday celebration for the past 2 wkend. so busy, cleaning up hse and preparing for that. she will be gg to have her 4th celebration (actually birthday) this coming sat. for the sat celebration, she was so cranky during the posting of the photo shot. will update at her blog when I have editted the photos. y'day, I went to attend my col' s wedding or else her blog will be updated.

what brand of fresh milk do u intend to give? some fresh milk veri sweet. but do fresh milk contain DHA which is impt for brain and eye development. my col's boy who is abt 2.5yr old now have been drinking fresh milk (those not so sweet one bought fr NTUC, forgot what brand) cos her son dun want any fm. she directly switched him fr bm (wean off 21mth) to fresh milk.

Erm...I thot FM got e AA and DHA tat's supposed to be very gd for babies' brain dev? + these stuff easily lost during cooking so can get fr FM more easily. How come fresh milk better? Just a qn. Pls dun mind me if i sound too straightforward.

my degree was about 225 both eyes before lasik. I think on the day of lasik u need someone to take care of bb la...vision will be fuzzy. For me, next morning was perfect vision liao and I was back at work. U just have to make sure bb dun accidentally hit ur eyes during the recovery period. The week before u must wear your glasses (no contacts) to stabilise your eyes so they can do a more accurate assessment.
I cannot tell you how much I paid as I received a very special price as the surgeon is my friend. But standard rate for Bilateral Lasik is $3000 for both eyes. Consultation about $80?? and Meds about $30?? I can't remember.
No sure if Sylk paid different price for Epi lasik.

I think the mummies here were recommended to fresh milk by their PD. Others oso have the same question and so far, I've not seen any answers. Maybe you should ask your PD? To me, ultimately, it's a personal choice. I also have frens advising me that Goats milk is better as it is more easily digested then cows milk. But, again, that's a choice we can decide on our own.

The news was quite sad cos one victim was an 11 mth old bb...but it got me wondering, why on earth is an 11 mth old baby fed choc cake???

och, fizz, thanks for your compliments. i used to bake but definitely nothing to boast. i have a good fren who is a very talented baker. so she gave me tips. also i could not do icing properly. so i anyhow do. she came over to help me do the rest. she very active in another thread now on baking.

i wasn't even gg to let hannah "taste taste" any chocolate or watever cake...my baking skills is zero but im still making an apple carrot cake she can eat. While her other birthday cake to feed guests will be bought.
I think one lesson is if bb still young, dun let them eat any outside food that is not thoroughly cooked. Cakes with icing likely icing/cream not cooked in high heat. 11 mos only...so poor thing.
Ya, prima deli oso quite poor thing...will take a while to recover frm this. Nowadays so many competition from other bakeries...

just to share and take note when buying fm from different supermarket. Just now, call abbott company to check if purchase fm for sheng siong, can I submit the receipt for redemption. the customer service told me that cannot as it is not their particate outlet. further more, I also ask why there is different pricing for gain iq or other abbott product at different supermarket. she highlighted that when buying fm, we must look out for the acompany address where it is manufactured. fm from giant or sheng siong are cheaper bec they might import from malaysia.

Hi Fizz,

Yah, hard to do it fast else I wouldn't get a chance till 1-2 years later. When I called on Mon, he offered to see me on Tue (coz surgeon is going on leave next week). So I just went for it without too much deliberation. This clinic charges the same $3000 for both lasik and epi lasik. There's actually additional fees for general consultation, pre-lasik consultation, eye drops etc.... but after waiving/discount. the net is about $3000 plus. My eyes were about 300 degrees each before lasik.

Epi lasik has a longer down time compared to lasik... With lasik, you can go back to work the next day with fairly clear vision. But with epi, need another few days before vision is clear. So, if you opt for epi, you'll need help with looking after baby for perhaps 2 days.

So many BD parties - so many pretty BD girls and lovely homemade cakes. Well done mummies n thanks for sharing the photos. I feel so embarrassed cos I m wun be organising anything so elaborate for my boy. Just cut cake wth relatives and invite them for Chinese meal nia. Only thing I will do is bake a cake to bring to my in-laws place cos I dun want to trouble them to order one for me. Besides I dun think they know where to get cake from also cos they never celebrate BD one

Annette is having a mini 1st birthday celebration this Saturday with the immediate family. Just ordered a cake yesterday!!!

How time flies huh....last Dec all of us were either in jitters, wondering when we will deliver, and then stuck in yulky confinement during the most festive month of the year, missing out on the Christmas and New Year celebration. This Dec, we are celebrating the holiday season PLUS our darlings' first birthdays!!
