you know what? JT has been doing the similar things!!!? She keeps throwing things off her high chair. She will take her hanky to the edge of the high chair then sheepishly let go of it. She will give me a very satisfied look when I go pick it up and then "beat" her hand and tell her cannot throw... she also started to throw her teething biscuit in the same manner... and she also figured out how to untie her bib and remove it.... these babies are really getting very mischievous....
I can see the top of her tooth liao.... she's still rejecting solids, altho not that bad liao....so how long more to go huh??!

You sure Kate's fever is due to teething? Tat was wat I tot initially also, but her fever shot up to 38.5 and tat was when I realised that it wasn't and she was actually sick. I suggest you monitor is closely. You mentioned she also has cough? You better be careful leh, a lot of virus going around.

I also dunno why...think he is v dey...wake up but eyes cannot open, will cry cry for attention. Want u to go pat pat him gua. Then usually morning I cannot tahan liao will put him in the bed next to me n he can sleep deeply then. But I dun want to him to sleep wif me cos scared bcome habit. This boy dunno why so dey one...Haiz.

Ya, agree with Dora...better monitor Kate's fever...may not be due to teething. E when teething his body temp higher than normal but not actually fever.
 
Hello mummies! so many posts to catch up after a week away! it was damn tiring to bring a bb on a trip but it was fun! luckily tim didn't fuss on the plane! will post some pics of us in sydney when i settle my work first.

thanks to bobianah on her tips on sydney! we all had a great time and the weather was good! we even went dolphin watching but didn't see lor! sigh! :p

OMG.. are u & reyna okay? try put egg or ice to dab on baruku area lor. quite fast subside one. Yday my MIL also put my walk in walker then my KPO Selinna keep trying to climb out of the walker lidat by dunno stepping onto what higher thing to stand up & knock her face against dunno the dining wooden table or sewing machine lor. then my MIL carry down that time Selinna left eye got a big swollen patch.. omg. i go home faster boil egg then after that use ice to dab lor. ohh subside halfway liao.

Isit u heard from somewhere that we need to chg the bottle at regular interval? cos that time i went to buy Pigeon btl the sales gal from Pigeon tell me must chg every 6mths leh. i was thinking siao bor? chg until i broke ar? exp leh. she say the boiling or sterilization can be damaged due to heating or what lor. but i also use the btl since born until now. cos early stage seldom use btl cos latching.

Let me tell you something... When I'm a SAHM, I hope to go back to work, facing a fussy n cranky bb is no joke. But when I was offered a job, I'm very unhappy, I'm worried about Reyna for missing me and she doesn't feed well with bottles and most imptly, I will miss all her developement again, hence I'm so sad about going back to work. Once I've rejected the offered job, I'm much much happier and treasure the time with my gals more. I'm also more aware that deep inside my heart, I still perfers to be a SAHM and nothing can beat watching my gals grow.

So, if you think u r not ready being a SAHM, try look for a job, then u will know wat you want. Now, no matter how Reyna fuss, how Rachel misbehave or how Renise being cranky, I got no regret to stay home for them

can't remember where I saw it.anyway Jelita has a wide range of Organic yoghurts also.. dunno if they have geletin or not but I think the risk factor of Mad cow diesase is really minimal...anyway there are so many potential hazards/poisions in all meats/vegs nowadays depending on source/batch. FP toys and some matel toys also have been recalled as they are hazard to kids.

for me, I only spoonfd bb tx with ebm once a day during her cereal time.cos normally, I will add in abt 80ml of ebm to 4 tablespoon of cereal and then the rest of ebm (70ml) will spoon feed her after cereal.


think bb are the same. bb tx also like to purpose drop thing. when one pick up and she start to drop the thing again and then look down. haa testing our patience loh...

ai-yo, dun say stupid lah, how u cook porriage then? I only cook brown rice porriage on sat. hubby and I also eat poriage during lunch time with can food (sardines/vegetarian stuff/peanut) cos dun waste to cook just a little bit and it will take 2hr for the slow cooker to cook. same as the porriage cook with gas but need constant stirring.

haa...'ECA', ai-yo, by the time, I came back fr my mum'plc as a delivery bm maid, all I want it to quickly bath and take a short nap before proceed to pump at midnight or few mins before that. after that, proceed to SLEEP so time is short by then it will be morning as I needed to wake up at 0530am (6am to pump).also no mood loh.so dunno our poor hubby...what they think...:p

so did u bring Kate home daily and sent to nanny early in the morning before u go off for work? won't it be rush?

hmm my hubby will be starting his new job on monday and in the meantime, the next 2 days, he will 'rot' at home. haa..then he suggested to bring bb tx home tml (thru). gd for me, dun need to 'rush' to mum's plc on fri to deliver ebm in the morning and then proceed to attend my half day course. after that, back to my mum'plc, then pump, bath, play with bb tx and then pump again at ard 5pm + and then set to my d n d. one thing I asked hubby is he ok/confident to babysit bb tx alone on fri esp at night (a challenge for him cos bb tx usually will look for mummy or caregiver when she wants to slp). he said if bb tx can't slp then he will take her downstairs walk walk and let her doze off. like when we were at in laws 's hse on sat, every time, bb tx will be cranky when passed 0740pm and I was pumping (delay liao due to dinner and dinner for bb tx), bb tx will scream outside so either need to 55 pump or then hubby will bring her and sit beside me.

so god bless him that bb tx will not be cranky on fri night while mummy is at d n d (actually, dun intend to go but every yr I did attend).

talking abt wedding, ai-yo, think my sec friend will be holding her wedding in Mid oct loh. dunno wanted to attend or not. sian... another relative of hubby also wed in mid Nov. of cos, relative side will be attending with hubby and bb tx (hope she will not get cranky then.)

at tt moment, i wonder if i'm having PND anot.. usually i'm fine.. but when something unexpected happens, or when things dun go as planned, i can plunge into very very depressed mood immediately.. how long it last depends on how bad it is.. and it's affecting my relationship with hubby... he told me he can't take it anymore...

Who's to say whether the risk of BSE frm gelatin is minimal. If the FDA deems it risky enough to regulate the cattle material used in making such products, it's enough for me to take notice. Besides it's my personal choice after going thru the UK BSE scare many years back to avoid as much foodstuff as possible potentially containing beef brain/intestines/bones. You're right in that there r so many potential hazards out there, some within our control to avoid like gelatin, China veggies and some not like the toys (cos who wld hv thought babies toys wld contain toxic paint). But after that incident I m sure many parents will be more circumspect when buying toys made in China now. Ya I also got recipe to make yogurt but dun dare try, scared breed dunno what other types of bacteria.

Calm down n try not to rush too much. Usually that only makes things worse. Maybe your hb is also stressed n just need to vent vent nia but doesn't really mean in like that. Ya go get a small slow cooker, more convenient and less waste.

hmm ice pack, did u put the ice pack in yr cooler bag or? how does it look like and where to buy? cos I tried at home to put ice in and it melts and wet my cooler bag.

think you are too stress liao, think shd relax a bit or else will always moody. cheers... i'm also like that when I 'm in kan cheong stage.

oic, then maybe use normal pot to cook loh and oen must keep on stirring it to prevent fr the porriage fr drying. slow cooker(those without temp ctrl) will also cause the porriage to dry so normally, I will let it cook for 2hrs and the brown rice porriage will be nua nua.

err..slow cooker will also take up lot of electrcity. I mean electrcity more ex compare to using gas. that's why I used kettle to boil water using gas instead of electric pot.

do PH sweat a lot?

No lah, I didn't buy the no-bumps hat, I made it! :p The material cost is $4...actually less than that cos I used less than 1/2 of the materials only. But I was telling hubby, if add on labour cost at the usual rate that I'm paid in the poly, this hat has got to be really expensive!!

Yah, I'm also paranoid abt food from China. I dun give any fruits/veg from China to JT. I dun even buy it for ourselves and I am perpetually nagging at my dad not to buy china foodstuff. But I think for toys, I will buy more Fisher Price toys from now onwards, cos being a reputable company, they will check very closely from now onwards. I threw away her unbranded rattle from China when the news came out, cos we will never know if there is anything wrong with these unbranded China toys cos nobody will ever bother to check.

Why dun you girls get a thermalpot? I have the big one to boil soup, thinking of buying a small one to cook porridge for JT. I ever cooked porridge in the big one also. Just have to boil for abt 20min on the stove, then put into the thermal pot, then it'll cook on its own inside for the next 6-8 hrs... it's like a slow cooker except that it doesn't need electricity.

I think you have to learn to relax... I think a lot of mums are like string being stretched to the max. Any disturbances or additional pressure will cause it to snap. I think your hb also very tired out lah... a few days ago my hb also snapped at me out of the blue, which is totally not his character, when I told him to not to be so noisy if not disturb JT. Then the next day he sent me an sms to apologise and say that he is very stressed at work.... so stress can really make pple behave differently.... since your parents can help you take care of PH, why dun you and hb go out for 1/2 a day or something just to work on your relationship and to relax?

guess many mummies here do it too! actually they enjoy it too since they get to spend so much time wif mummy and get to see new things and places. just that if you're going out for a full day, you need to pack more things. while we were in sydney, we only gave tim milk and no cereal or porridge for a week. got give him some biscuits in between that's all.

dora, yup, we're not buying any china stuff too. even tho the veg come from china pass our ava tests, but my sis fren went to do her own test and found dunno what *#x0 pesticide in the veg! faitz! so better play safe and buy veg and fruits from aust or usa.....

Like Hwee says, actually, bringing bb on holiday is not at all difficult. It's like being in Singapore, except hv to bring a bit more clothes if you are travelling in winter. For sterilising, I just used the Medela microwave steriliser bags. :p Logistics wise, not too bad. hb and me brot 1 large suitcase and 1 cabin bag.
Anyway, as for issue wif hb, hang in there ok? *sayang* Sometimes we are just tired and stressed, dun take to heart too many things. Maybe take some time-off together, take a day or two leave.

lately Hannah's been getting good at removing her hats! but not all the time. I think if we sneak up behind her and put the hat on, she won't remove it. Heehee!

I do feel a bit sorry for them, esp when I read the news that the big guy of the toy company killed himself becos of the recall, but really, China shd work harder to be stricter in controlling their quality of work. Probably too much corruption, cost cutting and unethical things going on in the various levels.

there was this day when we were trying to look for food and saw this sign that the food court was on the 2nd level. we looked around and didn't see any lift so we decided to push the stroller up the escalator to the 2nd level. when we got there, the security came over and gave us a hard stare! we asked if the food court was stil opened but he 'scolded' us that we should not push the stroller up onto the escalator! and made us walk one big round to some small back lanes to use the lift! i guess they haven't been to singapore to see how we get the strollers up and down escalators! haha!

if you do enough homework, think japan is ok. just dunno how stroller friendly is that place. anyone been? guess bigger cities ppl now speak little simple english.

i bought the coleman ice pack.. use ice not lasting one leh.. very fast melt lor.. b4 i hav ice pack, i was using ice too... i made ice blocks myself.. so tt the ice won't melt as fast as ice cubes.. :p den sprinkle salt on it.. they last longer this way.. :p bought the ice pack fr MIM website..

Actually my relationship wif my hub getting better nowsaday. i been tinking why let MILS affect our hub/wife relationship? since we cant defeat MILS, might as well be their allias. I decided to change strategic. (as u know my mil stay wif us for the weekend to look after javier) My hub also work OT quite frequent so sometimes when i came home from work, i gotta face my mil alone wif Javier. This is my new strategic. i treat my mil veri well, chat wif her like friends. Discuss wif her wat is the best for Javier. Most importantly, never complain MIL infront of ur hub. Haha.. i hav won the battle. NOW, my mil willing to accept my suggestion on my way of handling Javier. I hav notting to complain to my hub. Therefore relationship wif my hub is smooth sailing. we even "ahem" frequently liao..

NOW he told mi if he accept the job, i can quit my job or take No Pay Leave for 2-3 years to b a sahm. i m in the dilemma whether to continue working or b a sahm. like fizz had said, i dun wanna to lose my mkt value but @ the same time, i really wanna to spend more time wif jav. HOW??? headache..

I know I won't be happy at work if deep inside me tells me tat I want to be a SAHM. Like many told me tat time, I can get my job next time, whether high post or not (which I dun hope for high post now with bb, higher the post, bigger the stress), but our bb growth developement only once, if I missed it now, it will be gone forever. And that's the reason why I rejected the offered job.
Now, I've understand what I want dee inside me though I kept complaining previously abt my kids, now I'm accepting them like angels and I seldom throw my temper at Rachel liao, cos I know, since I want to stay at home for them, I must learn to curb my temper and teach them values and proper behaviour.

Hope my experience helps you to decided which path you want.

Hannah is like everybody's baby/grandchild cos hannah's cousins are all born overseas so even her grandaunty n granduncle shower a lot of attention on her. Every week go and visit and play with her. I can joke abt it now, but sometimes, it can be quite irritating. Like the other time, so many pple go visit my MIL to play with hannah that my MIL didn't do her flashcards with her all day...not that it's a big deal, but haiz, happen one time can happen many times...i guess what i dunno won't hurt me lor...

Relax and dont give yrself unnecessary stress. New working environment, pumping n bb can be very stressful.....Dont let it affect your relationship with your hubby. Cause at the end of the day, kids will grow up and leave the house. Hubby is the one that will grow old with us

dora,ur 3.2mb hp not bad leh..my 2mb sometimes take pic very blur.. heheh.JT will take her solids sooner or later lah... then u will complain abt the mess she makes :p the thermalpot sounds good.. will the porridge turn out as soft and nua as those cooked by slow cooker? can use to ao2 soup too? those herbal soup? if yes quite shiok leh... cook in teh moring then leave it inside then at home come bak got herbal soup to drink liao :p

shihui, its the way women handle stress lah... we can tolerate more (high threshold) but when it reaches a peak we crash terribly. At least I am like that too :p Sigh..I think men not very understanding loh... they dont worry abt alot of things that we do...

yesterday last minute decided to go taka bb fair cos hubby went orchard for meeting. Didn't really buy much but still spend >$100 :p Bought some toys and teether for JT cos I threw away her brandless Made in China teethers in MIL's house... bought her toothbrush and toothpaste, potty, a couple of pieces of clothes, detergent and some other small stuff. The fisher price wasn't very good deal leh.... some are 20% off, some are not even on discount! There are only a few teethers that were >50% off. There were some good deals from leaping frog, 1st few years. The pigeon soft sole shoes were on sale at $15+, which I tot was good deal, but just when I wanted to buy, hubby came from his meeting liao, and said dun need to buy so many soft sole shoes, 1 enuf liao

Actually I was looking at the toys, virtually all the toys there are Made in China ones, if want to boycott, then our babies will be left with no toys liao

So I decided I will only buy toys from reputable brands, at least they will bother to check, especially after the Mattel incident.

I bought the sony ericsson K800i. It's actually an old model. I bot it at $268 with 2 yrs singtel contract. The new model now is K810i, also 3.2MP, but I read over the internet that these 2 not much functional differences... only K810i is slightly slimmer cos K800i is quite bulky. The camera is excellent, but the video function is quite poor, like other HP.

What a coincidence, we also cannot tahan liao, so got a PT cleaner. She just came for the 1st time this morning. I find her ok lah, but she came for 1 time only so I can't be sure lah. Let me know if you want the contact.
Yah, the thermalpot can be used to cook soup. During preggie, I'll cook the stuff in the morning, then at nite got soup to drink liao. Must boil (strong fire) for abt 15-20min. The pork ribs will be soft soft in the evening. It's like slow cooker, but I feel the soup is more yummy with the thermal pot cos the soup was boiled with strong fire in the beginning, while you can't do that with slow cooker. The porridge also quite soft, but I think porridge must boil for 30min if want the really nua type. There are many different brands.... I bot the cheapo brandless one from OG when they had sale at $49.90 for the 5L one. But if you buy those branded ones like thermos or tiger, it's abt $200. But I think my cheapo one works equally well leh... but er... I think made in china one :p

Hi mummies,

I read in a thread from the fourm (can't find it now) saying that Pigeon bottles detergent has 2 versions. The one made in Japan has a red tab/red packaging and the one with blue tab/packaging (which most of the places are selling now including Robinson in their previous 20% sales) is made from Thailand. No wonder the other time when I buy the refill so cheap.
 


Hwee & bobianah, when its feeding time, how to go about finding places to feed eg. feed cereal? delay till our meal time so that we get proper seats? I was thinking of going Tokyo can't possible keep going restuarants then if those places quickly eat and go type, how to feed there? somemore the seats are like those bar counter type tall tall ones and stroller height is different and no baby chair. Another concern is in tokyo, some of the stations dun have escalators going up to the train platform so if got stroller...very ma fan.

Dora, i also went to the bb fair yesterday. Saw my colleague there she said i bot alot of bo liao stuff..a few things like hats and soft toys already cost me $80+. I got the thermal pot..also called magic pot from Tiger that time bot at $200+ useful in making soup esp if no time :p

stop a few days tried again and she got outbreak of ezcema again..jia lark dunno what to give her in porridge as i think difficult for her to chew meat since she only got 2 lower teeth. Dun tell me really have to give her vegan porridge only.
