My new maid just arrive yesterday and the old one left (the one you met in KKH when we go for our routine check up and @ Staz's house during the gathering) last Tuesday, 27 February.
Yesterday I took leave to train her.

Jackiejon, ya, met with accident, hb only receive our car from workshop on Yue nite after 5days of repair. I know abt the bb monitor from a DBS newsletter. Training a new maid must be tough. Discussed with hb that day, he still dont like the idea of having a maid. So will have to make do with a part-time one until we really cant cope.

i also dont like e idea of a "live-in" maid.. so now i got a part-time cleaning lady tat comes once a week to clean up whole house lor...

Having maid also have maid's problem. As you know my MIL is helping us looking after Jonathan & Joanna. For the 1 week that we do not have maid, my MIL had a tough time looking after the 2 grandchildren (especially she is not young, she is about 65 years old and have health problems).

Jasmibne, mine is $10/hr.
Starz, same arrangement, once a week to clean whole house. But I gotta do laundry and ironing myself. And once a week like not enuf to keep the hosue clean leh. Maybe it's fien if we stay alone, but with my inlaws, more pple get dirty easier.

I also dont like live in maid but what to do, I dont have a choice.
I cant cope with two children and however my hubby does not help in housework at all.

aspialle, I'll probably use it for a longer time ba, cos infuture will want the kids to stay in their own room so will be good to have something to keep an eye on them, eps when we'll be sleeping on diff flrs so I think should be a worthwhile investment for me. And I see it as a good gadget for me to communicate with hb too. At the moment I always use hp to call hb when I'm in room and he in the living room. cos I dont want to shout for him and wake bb up. So the monitor can be used like a walkie-talkie for me to call him to come into the room if i need is help.

We also paid our part time maid $10 per hour. She does everything including ironing (except laundry; because we use washing machine). She normally comes once a week and usually for 5 hours.
I agree with Coral. With more people in the house, once a week is not enough.
