(2006/04) April 2006 MTB

jumbo, maybe you want to try this. i got the idea from UK forum. they don't hv confinement food but what they do is pre-cook and freeze meals so that they just hv to take out and re-heat. not sure if that is good for confinement food, but since yr mum was confinement lady, maybe she can cook and freeze, then she doesn't need to rush back and forth so much.

hunniepot, u got info on hypnobirthing from zhaocaimao, how much is the class, how long?

i juz spoke to one angmo lady who is a 'doula'. She organises talks abt this and for those interested can sign up for classes - S$500.00 for 5 sessions plus book & 2CDs.

sggal,

Sggal
Where are you??? Are you able to make it next week for dinner??

jilian, 1sttimemum, yes let's meet first la. any night next week is fine for me. parkway right?

jilian, u can't be the biggest la. i thot i didn't put on much weight, but when i look at my photos from when just found out about baby to now photos... waaaaa......

Hi all

Thanks for all of your concern. I visited my gynae yesterday. She did a Cardio Test for my bb and she is fine. Thank goodness. Then, she examined my vagina and rectum to check where the bleeding came from. She said everything seems normal, so I could be bleeding from piles or haemorrhoids.

Anyway, just glad that bb is fine. Jumbo, your bb is so cute.... Heard BF is difficult at first. But must not give up easily or stress yourself. My antenatal class teacher said must stay positive so that the milk flow will be there.

Sggal,
No I don't think I'm the biggest, but I'm big nevertheless.

Sggal, 1sttimemum
Ok then let's just fixed for Tues 14th March at 7pm? Too early or too late? Ok to be continued tomorrow. Gotta go off now.

I will be bringing his fav snacks along like dried mangoes, some biscuits and sweets..

1st time mom

must bring track pants to wear upon discharge cos hubby said can keep wind away.

He also said after I come home, no air con for me for one month... worse than my MIL or my mum...sigh....I pleaded and pleaded....and he said is for my own good......think I am going to die without air-con =(

hunniepot
Ya, what you say is quite true lah, i should wait for the next one since i am very free nowaday... thanks for your concern!! I think i will see what's my hubby favourite snacks coz what i know is that he loves to read comics and smoke but snacks wise, not really leh..... he very troublesome and oh ya, he is not going into the labour ward. I kind of disappointed but dun want to force him. He say he will wait outside for me instead so dun think got to bring anything for him liao coz he will go buy himself.....

Oh yeah.. forgot that add in that I will be bringing along ear plugs.. just in case I want to take a nap and my roommate has got visitors in the room

lemontree

Hmm.. your hb is vert strict with you hor? My hb and mum never insist that I mustnt bathe; wash hair etc.. think my mum will close one eye and let me eat other things other than confinement food.. of course not stuffs like KFC.. but she is quite flexible.. but my granny will be staying at my place for 8 days.. think she will be stricter on me.. I already told my hb I will die without aircon and he already gave in to me
happy.gif

lsttimemum

Dont be too disappointed.. it is really up to our hubbies if they want to be present in the delivery room.. if he doesnt want to.. how abt asking ur mum instead?

1sttimemum,
Don't chase after bus. Not worth it. Rock hard/Soft is the feeling when you press on your tummy. Not the strength of your baby's kicks.

Hunniepot,
Yeah now my baby's kicks not like last time also I feel. Maybe cos he running out of space. Then plus this BH, sometimes I think I cannot differentiate. But as long as can feel baby's movements (not necessarily kicks) 10x a day is ok, that's what my gynae says.

Re: Snacks
I'm making the raspberry leaf tea too and bringing some dried biscuits for myself. For hubby I bought him a pack of ribena and cup noodles! Hehe.. Problem with TMC is after certain time, no food around, so if want food gotta drive out. We plan to take taxi to hospital because the car park charges are so cut throat!

Jilian & Babe
How did u find e doctors talk at SCGH yest? Dr Adrian Goh is a funny doc eh? Definitely can make do w e laughing gas during labor should he b ur gynae..hee..but as I hv already attended e 1st Mums congress in Jan, find tt its almost similar..nevertheless, think my hubby, myself & bb enjoyed cos laughing throughout..hee

Btw, any ladies felt slight pain in the lower part of the stomach? I hv been experiencing slight discomfort..something similar to period pain these few dayswas worried tt it might be the start of the contractions..cos my bb still left a mth b4 its supposed to due lehplus, he;s underweight..so prefer he fatten up a bit more b4 he come out.

lemontree
But i thought air-con is better compare to fan mah, just on the air-con but blow on the wall will do coz April, May all this is going to be very warm and if you are not going to bath, i really dunno how to survie le.... Oh i was told to wear dress even on the day of discharge coz they say the sitches is going to be painful so try not to wear pants, in case it cause fiction..... so thru out my stay, i am going to wear dress.

shylyn, i had pain in lower belly on sunday during evening walk. but when i sat down for awhile, it went again. maybe if the pain continues, you should call yr Dr to check?

Shylyn, Babe,

Yeah I thought the talk was quite informative. Dr. Goh is funny and Dr. Ong is the PD my gynae recommended to me, which I will use him first. Eh nobody answered me in time before I left, if not can say hello to each other!

I get slight discomfort sometimes all over the stomach, sometimes at the bottom, sometimes at the top.
If it goes away, I don't think it's contractions. But if you're concerned, best call your gynae.

daphne

Do you still go swimming nowadays? And where do you go to? I am feeling so lethargic.. but sheesh my hb dont allow me to go swimming alone..

Sggal, Jilian
Hmm..if not too painful & still can tahan, then Ill wait till my appt w him on Mon..r u ladies seeing ur gynae weekly now? Mines still fortnightly leh..so hopefully after next Mons appt it will become weekly..quite afraid tt bb chooses to come out early..not mentally prepared leh..

Jilian
Yaloh..managed to c ur post earlier..which by then, e talk is well over..Im also thinking of who to get for my childs PD leh..but I do prefer him/her to be located around my home..more convenient mah..where is Dr Ong based at? TMC?

1sttimemum,
hmm..not too sure abt wearing skirts leh..cos they were saying not to kena wind, so better to wear pants on e day of discharge..but after reading ur post, better prepare a skirt as well.

Wow... think all the mummmies here hv lots of stuff in their hospital bags...

shylyn, my appts still fortnightly. next one is on sat morning ... YAY! i'm also wondering when the appt will become weekly.

Shylyn,
Yes, Dr. Ong is based at TMC and AMK if I'm not mistaken. You can check his namecard in front of the booklet we were given. The thing is, if you don't already have a PD, your gynae will recommend one to you. Cos you need a PD to check on your baby at the hospital before they let baby be discharged. That is my understanding. Of course you can get your own but then I'm not sure what the procedure is then. Anyway I thought I just get him first. Later then find another one. Also there are a few GPs and baby clinics right opposite my place at Marine Parade.

Yukie,
You not planning to bring a few breast pads in case your breasts leak? Remember to bring your hubby's things if he staying with you.

Wah sggal

Seems like you are going on a long trip when you deliver leh.. youve got to check with your hospital.. will your cupboard be big enough to accommodate all these?
