I'm facing e same prob as u..think my bb has nipple confusion cos when i consulted my PD yest during my bb's follow up check up, telling him tt my bb dun really know how to suckle & like ur bb, prefer NUK teat compared to my nipple..& my PD told me tt actually sucking mtd between breast & teat is diff tt's why bb is not used to it. He advised me to put bb 2 my breast everytime b4 feed 2 let him get use to it. So far, at least he's sucking longer though i cant feel e pressure as compared to the pump.

I'm using e Avent manual pump as well..gets rather tiring after pumping..always perspire like mad after each session..but somehow it's better than auto cos my breast does not get engorge so fast & e amt pumped out is more. I can pump around 250ml now 4 each session

Any ladies attended the doc's talk conducted by TMC's antenatal class? They gave us some flash cards & i hv been using them when bb's alert & quiet..he seemed to b really interested & i hv been telling him what e colours are & what the picture is..hopefully will b beneficial to him

Mu jus express the milk and deliver to baby daily as she has to be in icu for a few weeks. I dunno if it is a blessing to have so much milk becos every 2 hours I have very bad engorgement!!!! Wonder how I am going to work after 3 mths. Dunno if it is becos my cup size has always been big so more milk, thus heavier if I dun express it out.

How? In that case, how? My confinement nanny very nice and patient. She encouraged me to place baby at my nipples for sucking before time and encouraged my girl to suck and also when she is awake. Except each time my girl will suck less than 8~10 times and she will fall asleep.

U can do up to 90ml so good think I've not been hardworking enough as really discouraged when my girl just won't suck for long and pumping can be really tired though using the electric pump. Nipples seem getting bigger.

Try to wake her when she suckle a few times then fall asleep. If not they will tend to suckle for comfort then next time don't have your breast they won't go to sleep. If don't work, then when she suckle and you see she about to sleep you quickly unlatch her from your breast.
As for avoiding nipple confusion, can try to feed her using teaspoon or small cup. But of course best if you can put her to the breast at least for the 1st month. Also that would do your milk supply good. Good luck.

I have popped on 4th April at 38 weeks this is my birth story:
12.30am: Contractions started at 5 min interval. Not very sure at first, then go toilet check, found red spotting
1.00am: Wake in law up, told them that bb might be coming out soon. Decided to go to hospital. Took a nice shower and washed my hair.
1.30am: Reached hospital. Put me on observation. Confirmed me on labour.
2.25am Have dilated 4 to 5 cm. Gymea burst my waterbag.
3.00am Gymea gave me my epidural. Instant relief. Could not feel any contractions after that. Mid-wife keep ask me to push..wah.really terrible
4.30am Gymea visited me again and said give me till 5am. Mid-wife said already dilated to 9 cm, keep ask me not to sleep as bb inside there too long, will not be good
5.00am: Gymea confirmed cervix dilated 10cm. going to give me assisted delivery.
5.16am: Yu En is out!!! She weighed 2.3kg (49 cm) Mid wife ask me to take a look at bb as me really feel tired and going to fall asleep.
Feel gynae doing the stitches. Quite painful
5.30am Hubby rush back from Sing.but by the time bb already out.think he feel abit disappointed cant see bb coming out..anyway, if he beside me, oso cant relief my pain too.
7.00am Push me to normal ward.with the stitches pain.keep thinking how am I going to pass urine & motion..sure very painful one.
Luckily, till now so far so good, everything went fine.
Actually I though off not going to delivery so fast as this is my first bb.and she only took about 5 hours to delivery.quite proud of me
Didnt know that will suffering from breast engorgement, thought only need to face the delivery pain and the stitches pain
Some more not much breast milk producefeel so disappointedand the worst is need to suffer for 1 month confinement..RELLY TOUTURING & BORING!!!

Evon, i got short nipples also.. and pumping will actually help to lenghten them a bit.
last night she is so hungry.. cos she wake up after 4hrs for the next feed, that she dun want to be latched on.. too hungry liao i think.. so got to feed with formula milk..
which position is better ah.. i think the cradle hold is still the best for us.

Me using the ameda personal lactaline electric pump, not bad comments abt it, has been able to pump out enough for Ryan n some for storage....CL mentioned that it's very much quiet compared to medela ones, personally i have not tried medela ones b4,therefore cannot comment.

Ya, my tummy still looks like 5 months pregnant after delivery. I was quite upset when some staff at the hospital thought that I have not delivered on the 2nd day of my stay there. Quite scary as tummy feels so soft and flabby, prefers my pregnancy bump to that for sure. I weighed myseif and found that I lost only 3kg which is the weight of my baby. Disheartening. But everyone keeps saying it takes time. Mrs Ho, when did you deliver? Today is my 6th day and I am going to start my post natal massage tomorrow. Hopefully can see some results.
Anyone knows if it is safe to use the Osim Uzap now? Feels tempted to borrow that from my mum.

No worries on that. Read that after we'd given birth, it'll take a while b4 can lose that layer. My gynae said gave abt 6 mths, which was same comments as my cousin who'd two children.
Guess 4 mommies who'd been bf'g bb or ebm, probably faster.

My tummy has gone flatten down quite a lot... look like ard 3mths pregnant now i think.. with the flabby tummy... really wanna ton it up.. anyone knows when we can start doing sit up?

I'm able to pump able 80ml each breast now. But one of the breast is sore. A little skin came off the areola. Very itchy when it is wet. Anyone knows whether the nipple cream will help? Not sure whether I should stop latching my girl on.

I also look like 5 -6 months preg when I was discharged. After my post-natal massage, now I look like 3 months preg. Can feel the loose and flabby skin on my tummy. My massage lady told me will take up to one yr to lose the 'flab'. Sigh. Feel so ugly and fat now....want so badly to rebond my hair. That is the first thing I am going to do after my confinement.

How is your wound healing? Did u have a C-section or Natural Delivery? Feel like going to Eunice Chua for my next one. Would u recommend her?

i never engage for massage lady, cos feel so terrible doing massage during confinement period...so oily...and keep perspiring....
any other exercise can do to slim the our tummy?

Good to hear that the Ameda pump is good.. hmm.. might consider getting that when my medela one breaks down (hears that it breaks down very easily) yeah.. the sound of the medela mini electric is like cutting grass.. I dont even dare to pump in the same room as my baby.. afraid to wake her up
Had slight fever yesterday so I slept in a separate room from hb and bb.. gosh.. my hb told me that he fed my bb with 100 ml FM twice with an interval of just 1.5 hrs! Such a big appetite.. and just 2 hours after that she cried for somemore milk.. so I woke up and bf her and she fell asleep immediately and slept for 5 straight hours.. felt good as baby feels more comforted after taking my milk than the FM hehe

thanks for your concern, my wound has healed liao..
i had c-sect, due to cord round bb's neck..during delivery, then realised that not only cord round his nect but his shoulders as well..
Dr Eunice Chua highly recommended shuld u b considering looking for another gynae. She's very patience even though she has alot of patients to attend to..she'll clear your doubts n answers to your queries should u have any...her stiching skills are good, i should say..she's very jovious as well..cos me n hb tend to joke everytime we see her..
i'll be using her as my long term gynae, was seeing Dr Mary Yang last time but i feel more comfortable with Dr Eunice Chua..decided to switch over liao..

it's quite soft n i can pump in my room, hb not awake by the pump sound leh..
perhaps can consider lor..only when ur pump breaks down lar, else waste $$..
