ladies, i got a question to ask. Do any of u kn if self employed mum is eligible to claim for working mum subsidies or not (for cc school fees)? If yes, then wat kind of documents must the self employed mum produce?

is it good?

ziying, u can go visit the center, most of us sign up our kids there due to the director.. fees, think shld be ard 300 plus after working mum subsidy? nana, sincerity, juxta and myself put our kids there..

go arrange for a visit, i'm sure the director will answer all ur questions. u can sign up ur child at any time, i think.

think better go view a few of the centers with ur child, see how she/he react to the place. most impt must she/he feel comfortable with it right?

me now considering the play grp at blk 207 for my twins as it is very convenient for me, been there once, find it a bit smelly as the toilet is so close to the class room

ooooo childcare.. my 2.7 yrs old daughter is in Character Montessori. Fees damn ex. We're making use of the CDA Fund to pay half of it. I brought her to try the NTUC for half a day but she didn't like it. Went to CM and she liked it, so no choice. We did go to Carpe Diem twice.. to see the director. Both times she's not in. So we didn't enrol her there.

I would love to join in the friday session. Let me know when you all are meeting up.

Ziying, 1 hv 1 gal at 3.5, she's currently at Carpe Diem. I also hv a pair of twins, coming 2 this yr.. so now still considering where to send them! hehe.. Oh go cc to see, sat also can but they will encourage u to go on weekday as u can see the classes being conducted. My first viewing to CD was on Sat too(didn't make appt). But pls make appt with them before hand, cos I cldn't meet the director during my first visit too as she is not ard, but the teacher showed me ard and try her best to answer my questions. Then I went down on a weekday again to ask more questions and eventually sign up with the director.

Dsii, 207 is Talant plus right? $450 per term? That's 150 per mth? Not niao lah.. better than me, not even want to start paying yet! haha..

How abt the community center? I thought I saw some banners or poster on some class/playgr there?

Yes, me want another option, lbs so clever.. CD is too inconvenient for me, but since G is doing well there, me bu she de to move her else where.. but for my twins, as me paying for 2 at 1 time, so need to be cheap.. and I'm still thinking abt hving 1 maid or 2 maid by then.. but no matter wat, definitely 1 person sending the twins to sch, so the nearer the better, dun want to risk them running all over the place or across the road, so 207 one looks the best..

talking abt playgroup/childcare centre hor.... there's another playground at blk 104 (Judes childcare centre)... my girl was previously in playground session... only this yr converted her to full day... although i noe not much good review abt this centre...since my girl is comfortable with the school & she's so used to the environment there, the teachers also very attentive to her & always report to me every single little things... hahaha... she can sing whole songs, alphabets & 1-20 now...since she's doing good in this centre i also bu she de to change her to another school..

woah, today's topic is about school. me also thinking of enrolling L to one nearby whc is called appletree but that one dun have kindergarten so have to switch school when she nears that level. some ppl say better to find a school that has kindergarten so no need to switch school for L else she needs to adapt to a new environment. see how lah.

Nice meeting you & L too. Did you proceed to visit Juxta & baby A : )? You're right. It's better to stay put at the same centre, familiar evironment, friends during their pre school years. But, no harm having her on trial period. You also need to consider of the distance travelled, if you're planning to have no.2

Blk 198 is Tots House, my elder child was there for nursery : )However, when K1 onwards have to shift to Blk 5xx. I didn't let him continue cos of the journey plus my health state back then.

My gals are attending nursery 2 @ CD too. Same class with YK dd. I've another gf, think she MIA : ) elder child same class with Juxta's child and younger child same class th my gals. Another pr mummy who have not registered yet but child is attending same class with them too. Small world, right?

no, didn't visit juxta and baby A cos i was perspiring on my way back from lunch cos miss L didn't wanna walk so kena carry her. anyway it was near her nap time shortly after we went back so didn't go. re: pre-nursery, i get the point about letting her get used to the environment as long as possible but the PCF (from pre-nursery to kindergarten) at lor 5 is quite a long walk, think 10-15mins walk. as for appletree (pre-nursery to nursery) is just 5mins walk behind my blk nia. but see how lah, since the teacher/student ratio at PCF is 1:6, i've a feeling registration may be closed liao. tmrw then call and find out. thnx for the advice.

L finally said 3 chinese words whc are "bu yao la" after i kept forcing her to drink water this afternoon. hahaha! it was a surprise to me becos i dun speak much mandarin to her. so you all can roughly know wat i say to her in mandarin, hahaha!

From my house to Blk 198 (ard 15 minutes walk too) I train Nick to walk there, initially complain tired, I channel his attention to birds, butterflies and bees. We stroll along the aquarius park with flower and fruit trees. I'll still carry him when we cross the traffic lanes and when he's very tired. : )

ya... their playground is called "flexihours". thk that time i pay $200. is frm 9-1 pm. now my girl full day, i pay $300.. cheap hor... every morning when i send my girl, i saw abt 3-4 children coming by a van, thk is the sch bus...if u interested, u can call the supervisor Cindy to check...
