IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

Understand how anxious you must be.. Hugz.. I agree with laki_gal.. You wanna try calling pte gynae to see if can make appt immediately, at least by in the next 1-2 days.. I think dr sadhana is a popular doc in kkh so probably not easy to get to see her early too..

I have also started to see Dr. Sadhana. Only did first round of consultation with her and seeing her again next month after doing all my tests prescribed by her. I paid $110 for first consultation. From my first experience with her all l can say is she knows what she is doing the nurses who helps her seems to be "on the ball". They took great initiative to explain all the tests that needs to be done and the respective dates that l need to have them done & she made sure l understood the instructions. I was seeing private gynae but really didn't really feel comfortable. He appeared very busy and it just make me pause and wonder does he knows what is really my issue. Thats when l switched to dr. sadhana.
 
Which private gynea is good and affordable??? HB was asking me whether i interested to switch to Raffles Hospital??

But all my record at KKH and i got some complication from my past ectopic pregnancy surgery last year.

Can i switch half way when i am either there or here now??? Im worry that i need to redo all tests again...

Don't worry k.. Why don't you call up kkh first and ask if you switch to dr sadhana, are u able to see her within these few days..
 
Dian tang: I am only on day 6 of my Lucrin. Having some serious pms which is the side effect of this jab. Next thurs will start the stimulation..

You responded very well to the medication. 22 follicles are very good! Hopefully you will have many and high quality eggs on Friday.. Update us on the process.. Can't believe you are almost half way there... I still got along way. Haha..

How you do the Lu tan? So far I am ok with egg whites. I added abit of dark soya sauce.. Not bad. I love to eat egg but i don't know will I still like to eat them when I have to eat 8 egg whites! Haha

Laki gal: you dh so sweet! Haha..

Lil ponyo: take more beef then.. But eating more red meat also got issue.. Haha.

Dream: fingers crossed for you. I am hoping my period will come tomorrow so there will be no delay in my ivf process..

Duffy bear: I recommend you to go private gynea.. Shorter waiting time and better care and support given your situation now. When it has stabled you can always go back to kkh.

Did the doc say anything about your low hcg? Your level is still increasing which is a good sign right?
 
Duffy Bear, if you want an option, my doctor is Dr L C Foong from Gleneagles. He is a fertility specialist. Tel: 64797267. My regular consultation + scan is usually $100-$150. Agreed that if since your situation is such and making you anxious, it is probably good to get second opinion from a pte doctor where you don't need to wait.
 
Duffy bear: you can request kkh to print out all your test results. Normally when you go see private gynea, they will not ask you to retake those tests if you have done them not long ago..

There are alot of private gynea.. I'm seeing dr loh now.. I feel he is good but he is too busy. Out of my 3 consultations, 2 of them he has urgent case to look at.. Thus, maybe he is really good but the waiting time can kill you..

Another one which is I heard and read about is dr LC foong. Think Lil ponyo sees him and afew ladies here too.

Ya good to go to someone who can tend to you now.. When all is stable, u can always go back to kkh.. Don't worry about the test results.. You know roughly your hcg levels this past week.. Just explain to the doc all your symptoms..
 
Duffy bear : I was once a kkh subsized patient , only c dr lau . If you want to c other doc or chose, you will convert to private patient.

Saralyn: I just add soya sauce and water and let it soak there. Sometime I lazy, I buy from mixed rice stall. My fren bought 4 chili eggs from Malay stall and the lady looked at her with funny looks .

Act with the many folicies , I may have high risk of ohss . So I have to eat 4 egg white per day . This morning I wake up with bit breathless .

Duffy bear: yah..switch doc immediately - someone who's experienced and can give u the immediate attention.. Dr Loh is supposed to be good but the waiting time is really bad..even during the day.. Dr Foong seems to be good, based on the sisters here. in fact, i was once wondering if i shd switch to him for the 3rd trial..hope that u can find another doc immediately...

arrg...i am going nuts...i keep going washroom every now and then, just to check if af is coming..although i had told myself to relax and just not to think about it, it is so difficult..and just now, there's brownish discharge again..guess, back to ground zero again..

dian_tang, u cn drink those isotonic water too to help reduce ur ohss, tat wat d nurse told me. I told dh to help me w d injection but he b gg reservist soon so i hve to somehow do it myself too. Lucky i hve many fat so guess will reduce in d pain

dream, understand how u feel, try to relax k n last x i avoid gg toilet coz dont wish to feel disappointed
 
Busy day, didn't have chancE to read thru the thread. Duffy bear u ok? Didn't get to read ur updates yet but u shld listen to the sisters here, see a private gynae ASAP.

Today I freaked out when I see green stools in the morning. Anyone xperience green stool after injecting pregynl?

Maybe just go to the private gynae to do the scan and has a second opinion.

there are some pregnant ladies they will see a few diff gynae before deciding to use which gynae for delivery.

It is good to just have a second opinion

Dear all, i will discuss with HB and see what he say... He prefer KKH cos incase of complication case cos he say they have the most advance equipment.

Nicxl, my tea aunty told me b4 green stools is when you get frighten up .... As for me,my stool are normal after injecting puregon... Maybe you check with your doc on this??

Laki gal, your hb so good... my hb is afraid of needles so i injected myself... Dun worry, you will find it easy after you used to it... No v pain...

Kkh has a private suite where the gynaes r available to help. I used to be under John Tee. Maybe u can try to call and make an appointment. Then u can have the best of both worlds. The good facility of the hosp and a semi private gynae.

As for myself, i just underwent my soiui procedure last week... Now 8dpiui... Anxiously waiting for the 2 ww to be over. :p
 
Duffy, It dun sound so good le...U better listen to the sisters here and go for second opinions.. For your info, Dr sadhana is on leave till this week and wont be back until next week.

Thanks thanks. It's my first try on iui.. Dun dare to get my hopes too high actually. Haih. A friend of mine has 3 beauitful kids, 2 fr iui and the youngest natural. She's my inspiration and hope! :p
 
Dreams, understand how you feel. I remember for all my past IUIs that I was very afraid of going to toilet yet I keep wanting to go and check! Try to relax and maintain positive thoughts. You have already done all that you can. It is now all up to nature. My fingers are still crossed!

Dian_tang, I hope your breathlessness is only temporary and that you'll be okay. Please continue to take care!

Lil Ponyo : still feeling bloated and vomit in the afternoon . Call the nurse and she said is the side effect of drug. Drank lots of water today . Finally I can knock off work and go back to rest.

dian tang: oh man.. you must be very sick from the drugs.. take good care and rest well. drink more water.. Tomorrow is your "big" day.. =)
 
my hopes are dashed....i just went to see Dr Zou cos since i am in AMK. She did a pregnancy test and it came out negative...so it is really back to square one.. she also suggested i skipped IUI since hubby troops arent great and will defeat the purpose. maybe i should heed her advice and rest my body for ivf in dec..unless i succeed naturally...i was just too naive thinking i can succeed this mth...sigh...

Saralyn: U are with Dr Loh for ivf, right? does he organise any ivf seminar for his patients? If i wan to do ivf in dec, when should i start seeing him to prepare for it??

Yup.. I'm seeing dr loh for ivf.. Hm.. There is no queue at all. Infact, you can do immediately in your current or next cycle. But I would suggest you to go see him now to let him review all your test results which you done and see his suggestion for you. You mentioned your dh troops is not strong? Maybe dr loh will give some supplement for him to take now.

Be prepared for long waiting time.. And I think he only see patient in the afternoon..
 
Oh.. He doesn't do any seminar.. Infact he didn't explain much to me.. You must ask him question then he explains else he assumed you know it. Haha

Selvi, what is HPT? I cant recall that i did this test before?? What is this test for??? So far, i did HSG, HCG and ultra sound scanning...

Wondersss, i ask the nurse and she did told that Dr Sadhana is on leave... but she was kind to fix all blood test, ultra sound scanning and doc review on the same day in next week... Maybe i see how my result turn out next week since till my next appt, i dun need to go back for any blood test for the time being... *Phew*

Joelle, welcome to this thread... I got my precious advise and comfort from the sisters on this thread.... Hope you are doing fine... Eat more egg white and drink more warm water... Dun forget your supplement too... Btw, is Dr John Tee good??

Btw, did anyone know if sibling of the patient can be allowed to conceive under IVF on behalf of patient if all parties are agreeable to this arrangement???
 
Dian_tang, have a good rest. Hopefully the acupuncture tomorrow will help ease your discomfort. Are you taking tomorrow off to rest for your ER on Sat?

Dream, hugs, so sorry to hear that. It will be okay. Like what Saralyn said, to consult doctor for your next course of action. Perhaps rest for a few months. It will be a good chance to rest your womb from all that injections and pills. I rested 2 months before my IVF and it felt surprisingly good. I feel like I life is back to normal. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe treat yourself to a glass of wine or a bubble tea

Dream and Lil ponyo: I did the same. Rest for 2 months before starting this ivf.. It was soooo good.. I threw away my bbt thermometer and opk. Just do whenever we feel like.. I felt relax and recharge.. Maybe because of it, I am very excited about this ivf and am doing very well except some side effects from the jabs now.
 
Selvi, oops... sorry sorry... I still not familiar with all short terms used in here... i did the HPT 6 days at home before i went for the blood test but it show negative... till now, i didnt do any HPT again...

Maybe tonight i try the test again...

Duffy bear: ya try the HPT. I read on the net that some ladies take up to 18 days after their period was due! So don't be discouraged even if u get a negative. Good luck!
 
hi everyone, thanks a lot for the encouragement..i was disappointed but at least not as bad as my first IUI...guess i shall leave things aside for the moment then..

is it definite to require bed rest during ivf? one of the reasons why i decide to go for it in Dec is because everyone is away for leave and less obvious if i disappear from office...if not, maybe i can do it earlier..

Dr Loh doesnt hav any seminar on ivf? i read on this thread that some docs even hav pscyhologist to talk to us?? is there any difference in the injections required for ivf vs iui? if it is the puregon needle, i think i can still take it...
 
Hi Lil Ponyo , my ER was schedule tomorrow . Wish me luck . Operation start at 1.30 pm and I have to start fasting from midnight .

Dream: usu before IVF, they may give the couple a couselling . Kk and NUH have that .
For my case one of the jab needle was longer than purogen needle but if handle properly , the bleeding is minimal.

Laki_gal: dun worry it is ok to be scared initially , you shd be fine after few jabs. JIA you , JIA you JIA you

Yes.. Dr john tee is a senior consultant... Associate prof i think. He is a no fuss person. Sessions with him is usually very short n sweet.. Chope chope... N he will provide ultrasound pic too. He doesn't talk much unless u ask u qns. I m fine with it though... Like a kind n quiet daddy. He seems rather pro natural birth for those who r worried of being psychoed for csect. I had a very smooth delivery for my #1 5 yrs ago. Will go back to him if my iui works.

. Plus point is, the private suite is much more comfy than clinic D, haa...and they have late evening appointments on some days for those who cannot take time off work...
