Hi Ladies,
It was tiring emotionally and physically for bb and me yesterday. I think bb could feel all the emotions from her nanny and family. Over the months, he's managed to charm everyone, and they sayang him soooo much. I tried my best to remain calm for my bb, as tears were shed by the nanny etc. I bought bb to my grandparents place,as my grandad is unable to move due to his stroke. Without fail, my grandad would enquire abt bb, and he's been wanting to see bb for a very long time. So we decided to take him there first. For the first time, my boy displayed stranger anxiety.I have to say that the air in Singaporeis much different to the one in Malaysia. He cried, but thank God, I was no stranger to him, and the months of weekends spent in JB with him while he was there paid off. I was able to calm him down. I realise that he panicked if someone he did not know, came towards him. So I just walked around the house, letting him familiarise with the environment, and also the objects (including humans) there. It worked!!!! So this is my tip to you, when you take your older infant out to a party, tell your friends to give bb time to adjust to environment. But I was pleasantly surprised when he smiled and went straight to my helper. She carried him, talked to him. And I was THANKFUL as anything. I have taken off the next week, but will be on half days for the rest of DEC. I plan to appeal for the 1 mth adoption leave. Thanks for the recommendations on cot. We were contemplating the options of mattresses, cots and graco. My hubby and I saw a cot in Babyhyperstore that we liked. We might just get the one from there. Mattress would have been ideal and safe, but we have a very curious cat!
Iwantitverymuch,
You can apply for the adoption leave now itself as you aleady have your HSR, as you have the dependent's pass right? This is infor I extracted from eCitizen
'The adoptive mother can apply for adoption leave when she is issued with a Dependant’s Pass by MCYS.
'The adoptive parents would have to obtain Singapore citizenship for the child within 6 months of the Adoption Order being granted.'

Do check it out.
Sweetclo,
I am so happy that you and ur hubby fell in love her. She must have won ur hearts with her beautiful smile hey. As for wt, I think it's normal for a baby who is up for adoption to be about that wt range. Normal wt is 3.5kg, mine was 3 kg at birth. They will 'catchup' their growth with our nurturing.
Blesswbb,
I am sorry to hear about your IVF. But I am proud of you for braving it one more time. At least now, you can grief completely and move on to adopt your 2nd bundle. You know you can use your current HSR right? It's valid for 1 year.
