Anyone doing IVF in 2020?

Hi Alisha. I will put the amway protein powder in my breakfast smoothies. Protein is important pre and post ivf so i started taking it much earlier to prep my body. After egg retrieval - i was advised to take raw egg white (4 - 5 eggs) and a lot of liquid. I recovered within 2 days after the surgery. 15 good blastocysts in freezer now.
15 blasts is a lot!.. only from the start of the IVF fresh cycle you started taking the protein powder paired with breakfast smoothies? Or should we start a month or two before the fresh? And you do take it daily? What is the dosage/ amount of protein powder should we put into the drink? Thanks for sharing!

Hi Ladies,

Were you given progesterone post ET? I realised I wasn’t prescribed with one, but instead with Pregnyl. I googled and both seems to have different uses. Anyone had Pregnyl before?

Thanks!
I was given Pregnyl after my 2 transfers, instead of Crinone. I asked my doctor for it because I wanted to jab instead of having to stress over whether I inserted Crinone correctly. My doctor said Pregnyl would stimulate your body into producing progesterone naturally by tricking it into believing you’re pregnant. If you search the forums, other ladies were given Pregnyl too in the past, although it doesn’t seem as common as Crinone. Don’t worry and good luck in your 2ww.

Dear blurblurgal, i am indeed blessed. I started taking bfast smoothies a month before (organic kale/spinach, coconut water, blueberries, strawberries or fruits) and add 2 scoops of protein powder. I also take CoQ10 too. In between breaks i eat fruits and nuts like brazil nuts and walnut. I also start eating homecooked food more and less takeaway. I sleep before 11pm and wake up after 7am (8 hours sleep). You must also include ur spouse in your regime - as for me - my husband was the one who bought and prepared the food for me. He was the one who did the injections for me and he was really my support in my ivf journey.

Thank you for sharing your journey. gives me some hope. Can you also share the stimms jabs given by Prof Wong?

Hi
So sorry, my stimms jabs was done about a year ago, can't remember much on what jabs was given. If not wrong, Gonal f n menopur.

I was given pregnyal jab instead of crinone gel too during one of my ivf. Yes I agree pregnyl sometime will give you false hope. I have tried using clearblue test kit more than once and it keep showing BFP while the Pregnyl jab was given. When I was not given the jab few days before the BT, I tested again, the test kit appeared "Not Pregnant" and confirmed BPN during the BT. But it doesn't mean it apply to all, just that I'm the lucky one who experience it.

Thanks fr sharing! Will add omega 3 to my supplements.. wondering what brand you took and the dosage daily?

not sure if it’ll be too late as I’m hoping to do retrieval in Feb...

Hi, would like to ask what did u all do to repare for FET? Mine will be next Friday. I didnt go for TCM but read abt ppl doing acupuncture before and after transfer. Is it good? Does the TCM clinic accepts patients just doing bef and aft transfer acupuncture?

Helps for some, does not help for some. I guess it depends. The last time I did before and after my FET, failed. I did not do on my successful cycle.

yes some clinics accept doing just before and after transfer, you are paying afterall :)

My sinseh say tcm can help in uterus blood circulation and warm our womb. It helps for me as I have cold hands/feet. However, for what I know better results if try at least 3 mths. You can try to contact tcm clinic to ask? Ivf is about trial and error so harm trying bah.

Hi i am using blackmores. Not too late. In fact you should aim to eat real food as opposed to relying on supplements.
Ah yes.. but salmon fish can be quite expensive and may not be affordable to eat almost on a daily basis... hence thinking of supps..sigh

Im taking lots of supps that all seems essential & necessary helping in egg quality & possibly implantation, but still feel like too much.. currently taking Blackmores Conceive well, Ubiquinol, folic acid, Vitamin D, E, B6, B12, Zinc, Myo-inositol..and Omega soon... not sure if I were to cut, which one should I drop.

Hi, im 38yo, I hv been TTC for 2y. Now, Im considering ivf with Dr. Paul tseng from TLC. I did several IUi cycles with him, but unfortunately it didnt work. Anyone succeeded with Dr. Paul ? Appreciate if anyone can share ivf experience with him, his clinic’s cost compares to other clinics in Thomson Medical (I heard Dr. SF Loh is good too..). I heard many great comments about him as gynie, but couldn’t find much review about him as fertility doctor. thanks in advance !

Anyone had OHSS that turned up during 2ww? Feels like a horrible pain on the stomache but doc said to just up water and protein. Anyone experienced before and how long does it last?

How long did it take to subside? I have been having tight tummy and feeling breathless too. :(

Hello it lasted a while because it was a sign for pregnancy for me and it was a multiple pregnancy it started during 6dp5dt and lasted till i was atleast 6 weeks. My gynae recommended some protein milk and just eat food that is high in protein. No other medications can cure. I was panicking so i visiting them and had my blood test at 8dp5dt. Take care!

Omg 6 weeks, I don't think I can handle another 6 days with this. Really painful. But thanks for the tip, and huge congrats!

Let's hope n pray it's good news for you too! Just don't put any cold or hot compress on your abdomen even if it's cramping! I know it felt like i did hundreds of sit up and my abdomen was so tight and aching.

They always pick the best looking blastocysts. But really, don’t get too focused on grading. I had AA blastocyst that turned out aneuploid (did PGT-A). The grading only tells u abt the inner cell mass and the trophectoderm (helps with the sticking rate). Even if the trophectoderm is a B grade, you can always opt for assisted hatching so it’s no big deal. I believe that is why @Heng_heng is saying grade don’t matter.

Hi there! Could you tell me where you did your PGT-A? Did you need to get special permission to do it?

Hi ladies,

I am feeling alil upset knowing the outcome for today's scans.. our lil one development is normal just that the NT thickness is 3.0mm.. they wanted it to be less than 2.5mm for a normal scan.. :(

I am doing another blood test (Harmony) to confirm again with results in 2 weeks and another scan at 15weeks..

They say its a risk for down syndrome or heart issue...

I am 31 this year and was conceive through ICSI IVF..

Anyone has any advice? Greatly appreciated...

I saw online a lady has a child with NT of 3.2mm but born normally.. and one of them had a risk of 1:10 but baby was born normal..

Sometime it pays to know such outcome and sometime its better left unknown.. sigh... Hoping next scan will give a better outcome...

Hello , pls don’t worry too much. My first trimester scan also showed an NT thickness of above 2.5mm and it got me worried too. My gyane suggested to do the invasive amniocentesis but I insisted I did not want to do anything invasive and opted for the the NIPT test which confirmed it was low risk for Down syndrome. Recently did the second trimester detailed scan and it showed all was fine, no issue with the NT thickness anymore. What a relief!

I was told that based on my FTS+Scans, my default age group risk (before results) is 1:519 for Down Syndrome Risk. But after my blood test & scan done, its shows I was 1:860 instead. My Free Beta HCG level & PAPP-A Level are all normal. Baby Nose Bridge is seen and normal so they saying I am at mid risk. They are more worried if there's an absent of Nasal Bridge at 13 weeks which raised up to high risk. NT level in UK reading stated 3.5mm is the limit but in SG, it's 2.5mm.. I know its better in the scale for my age, as I was reading online, ladies of my age risk is 1:820 for Down Syndrome..

I instantly fell in love seeing the lil one on scan.. the tiny arms, the yawns it shows, woken up on screen when hearing daddy's voice... it was so beautiful... I really hope and pray everything goes smoothly on next scan & Harmony Blood test.. i saw a lady crying and heard that she was 1:18 chances for it.. it broke my heart hearing that.. knowing that my risk were more than 100, i was still worried.. sigh...

Hi! Don't worry! I also conceived my first one through IVF in 2016..during the detailed scan at 15 or 16 weeks, his neck was also thick. Oscar blood test came back low risk for all. But I am still worried so I went for harmony test. It came back low risk for all too. My baby came out to be chubby though:)

Hi ladies, I’m going to have my 2nd FET next month. My 1st was a natural FET, but it was a failed cycle. For my 2nd FET, I opted for medicated FET, cos natural FET is too tiring and stress for me. Would like to know what will the procedure be for medicated FET? I’m with kkivf by the way.

I think keep it simple. Blackmore conceive well. Q10, and protein is sufficient. As Blackmore is multivitamin it consist majority multi nutritions required for Pre pregnancy

Anyone used up their Gov co-funding and medisvae for their IVF? How much u guys paid for frozen embryo cycle in cash?

Coz mine is a 3rd frozen cycle, I only can use $4000 medissave and $2200 gov subsidy? Balance in cash? Wow!

I'm going for 4th frozen... No more funding. But I still have one last medisave to use (after which I will exhaust my 15k medisave) . My previous frozen transfers were between $3500-$3800.

Hi. Medicated FET would be progynova 6mg daily from day 2.. Then between day 11-13 they will ask u to come to do ultrasound (just one time ultrasound), after scan they will ask u to take progynova, duphaston and crinone gel . Transfer will be done between day 18 to 22... After transfer they will ask u to continue progynova and duphaston...

You have to come back 15days after transfer for beta hcg.

Hi, anyone fall sick after taking progynova? i been taking progynova since D2, & start to fall sick around D4. i dont know is it coincidental? today is D10 still not yet recover.. i dare not take too much medication.. afraid will affect my transfer.

No I do not have side effects when taking progynova. Maybe you could call the clinic to ask?

Hi can anyone share their stim injection combos? wondering which ones are more effective. Ive had puregon and menpour but bfn. :(
Effectivess is really depends on one's body. Both stims are the same. Both are good. It may be effective to a person, but not to another.

Hi, I usually had side effects taking progynova. Migraine, sore boobs n felt so frustrated whole day. N my lining doesn't respond so well too, I need to take nearly a month to pass the lining requirements of at least 8mm.

Hi all,

My husband and I are Indians living in Singapore (PR-foreigner couple). We have gone through IVF/IUI once at NUH (IUI 2 times) but unsuccessful. It is turning out to be quite expensive however. Has anyone considered trying IVF in India and/or worked with experienced / good Indian IVF specialists in Singapore?

Hi All, just to share my experience. Prior to this, I tried 4X medicated cycles and 2X SO IUI, all which failed..hubby and me didnt really have any known issues and we are 30/33 yrs old. Eventually decided to go for IVF @ JB as the cost of my medicated cycles and SO IUI was amounting to the same as a ivf in JB. And lots of emotional stress.

Did my retrieval last yr Dec, had 28 eggs, out of which only 8 fertilized and 7 became blastocyst.
2X day-5, 3X day-6 and 2X day-7. Did PGS as per doctors advise as he said too many eggs may also mean poorer quality of egg...

Based on PGS (first 5 blasts), 2 were normal, 3 mosaic. 2 remain untested.

We transferred two day-6 blasts (1 normal and 1 low mosaic) and both implanted.

I had lots of bleeding during my first trimester for unknown reasons. Other test results were all okay and normal.

Went on to deliver to my twins this year ( slightly preterm) and they are otherwise doing fine now.

Hopefully Sg allows PGS soon as it helps in selection of healthy blast. In my case, day-5 blasts were high mosaic. And the low mosaic blast turned out to be my pretty girl who has no issues (which means not all mosaic blasts turns out to be bad)

Recall my gynae saying low mosaic could be false +ve or might just self correct during 1st trimester.

Hi all, my doctor is prescribing me only menopur for stimulation. Based on what I understand, menopur is usually prescribed with gonal F/ puregon... can I check if anyone is also on menopur only protocol and any stories to share?

Hi everyone!!
Any advise on what to do after embryo transfer? Not doing any TCM.
I went to TCM on the same day. My TCM would prescribe a medicine that is helpful to make the walls sticky, which hopefully improves the success rate of the implantation. Worth a try!

will it be alright to take tcm meds? After embryo transfer i was asked not to take tcm meds.. ):

The only med my TCM prescribed is the implantation booster, which makes the walls sticky. Do acupuncture on the day after your transfer, once more two days later. Womb cannot be hot or cold.

Hello ladies, I had my first embryo transfer, a hatched blastocyst on Wednesday.. and currently on crinone and progynona as well as folic acid. Does anyone ever encounter constant wet discharge after the transfer? Is it cause by the medication? Also been having on off migraine and mild cramps..Doc said that my uterus lining is very good and just hoping it will implant☺️
