himummies, just wanted to ask about your IVF experiences. I’m considering starting IVF soon and honestly feeling a bit nervous cos I don’t really know what to expect ...how was the whole process for you and how did you find the injections, appointments and recovery? Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through it before :)

Hi! I’m currently going through treatment with Dr Kelly Loi, who has been my gynaecologist for some time now. Since she specialises in fertility, I decided to have her guide me through this as well. At first, of course I was quite worried and anxious, but she reassured me and helped me through each stage. Whenever I have concerns or questions, I always go to her and she takes the time to talk things through with me. I think having the right doctor and a good support system around you can really make the whole process feel a little lighter. Just sharing my experience in case it helps! :D

The injections look scary, but the needles are tiny and you honestly get used to them straightaway. Appointments can feel a bit busy with all the early scans, and recovery after egg collection just feels like a heavy period, lots of rest and tea helps massively. Just take it one day at a time. Even my doctor, Dr Regina, Always reminded me not to look too far ahead.
