Iui is much simpler.. No need so much test except hormone test for me.. As fir cost, it all depend where u did it.. There are private and government.. For mine, i did at gleneagles, it cost me around 1.5k comes with 3 time puregeon injections.. Not so high dosage so is cheaper..

I did my IUI at mt E and the rough cost per iui cycle is about 1.2k. Unless there are other hormone jabs then the amount will go up. I did not get the puregeon injections. It includes scanning to see size of follicles, blood test for hiv etc (hospital procedures valid for 6 mths) and the washing of sperm and the IUI procedure itself.

There is a SO-iui and a IUI..SO-IUI i think is for ladies whose hormones are not high enough for the follicles to release the eggs. So it will cost more for SO-IUI.

some pp have menses but no follices..

it seems pte and Govt hosp almost same price...ispend ard 1.2k also..without puregon jab/clomid
 
Hi gals,

been a silent reader for some time coz nothing much to contribute or report. Have embarked on 2nd round so-iui. took the Gonal-f jabs and went for scan yesterday. Got 4 follicles ranging from 15-19mm. Suppose to take hcg shot this evening and go for so-iui this Sat. Hope everything will go on smoothly.

me cd30 today, had disrupted slepe, bbt at 36.66 (ranged 36.5+ to 36.6+ these few days), getting the cramps etc.
tested -ve yesterday.

actually hoping if not preggy, then for AF to come earlier coz i am going for the scope in june.
Wana get it done so i can embark on a smoother TTC

cd30 means 30days from ist day of menses
i will usually wakie middle of night one, its my norm, not preggy norm, haha.
menses late? duno,,coz after clomid of 2 cycle, my AF abit irregular. I am generally a 30-31day cycle.

ist iui, delay 7days, 2nd iui, early by 3days..

now can only wait..wait ...wait....

the no. varies fr person to person, cycle to cycle.. i tot i din do as gd as last iui. Last round i got 4 follicles at 18mm which already "passed" the test. This time only 1 follicle "passed" at 19mm. So gyane ordered another gonal-f shot to boost the rest. Tested
-ve opk this morning, so got to go for hcg shot this evening...mah fan!

Btw, i've much shorter cycles after iui, only 26. Used to be 33-35. gynae say due to stimulated hormones.

errr.. iui will affect the cycle? Hmmm i tot it is quite definate that 2weeks after ovulation the menses will come? Will late one ar? Siao liao....

I can't wait for the days to pass faster so that i can know my iui results....

i mean so-iui with medication. The jabs taken to stimulate follicles growth will affect the cycle. for eg my last so-iui, i took the gonal-f (or puregon equivalent) fr CD2-CD5, hcg shot on CD7. cycle was only 23 days. AF reported on CD24.

as far as i know according to my last iui (not so-iui), taking clomid does not really alter the cycle.

followed devlina's formula but realised the half-boiled egg is really challenging to prepare. i give up! :p
ended up either over cooked or too raw. urgh!
 
Thankx crafty/muski for clarifying. I am waiting for the results of my 2nd iui (menses should be due soon) and was worried that my menses might be later than expected - giving me false hopes.

Hopefully all goes well with this cycle.

btw, i was quite impressed with NUh, or rather quited touched with my NUH haematologist.
She readily retrieved my past records, promptly,as i need it for the scope procedure.
given a government hospital with rules and regulations,. i was really touched with her readiness to help a patient whom has not seen her for years.
If i had trusted NUH gynae more, i would have seek medical help there, will sure be in good hands.

hahaa....i oso have problem preparing half-boiled eggs last time. But thru trials and errors many many times, i've finally worked out the trick...Try this, sure works: Prepare freshly boiled water. Put eggs (no of eggs doesn't matter) into a bowl/mug. I put inside those stainless steel mugs. Pour hot water into it to cover the eggs entirely. Cover. Time for 8 minutes (for eggs at rm temp) or 10 minutes (for eggs taken out fr fridge). and dah dah!! u have perfect half-boils!

My understanding is that Hcg is to rupture the follicles to release the eggs for ovulation. Since -ve opk, need hcg jab to force O to occur. If +ve, then no need hcg mah, since O already.

Ma fan is one thing. No support from DH is another ting i'm struggling. Many times wanna give up coz of no support, not becoz i've to go thru all these "ma fan". Men just dun understand how much we are giving/doing rt now to to have a BB. He tinks anytime can do it and he will get it.

( This time 30days cycle. First time I experience very very heavy flow with blood clots. To make it worst, I am now in Perth... Starting to take clomid already.

Need to prepare myself for 2nd IUI.

Gals, btw, does your gynae sit down and review with you why IUI fail? Cos my next visit to gynae is on D12... isnt too late to find out why my 1st IUI fail?

am sorry to hear that...
although i was not on clomid last mth, the AF i just had was also accompanied with increased blood clots.

in fact, i've always seen blood clots during AF ever since it started so i've always thought that all girls wld hv that too. correct me if i'm wrong pls...

after my 1st failed iui, i went for my appt on CD7 and he couldn't really pin point where the prob was. imo, the assistance in iui is mainly to decrease the distance for the swimmers to meet the egg & to ensure that there are mature follicles to release the egg. Hence, it's still pretty much like a natural cycle to me. so chances wld not be as high as in ivf?

hmm...my gynae did not ask me to use opk to test prior to taking the hcg jab. really different protocols around.

The other time my cycle was oso shortened to 26 days nia...wow, u may be having good signs

I didn have much review with gynae when I failed 1st time IUI...but I just started on ethe 2nd attempt coz I din wanna waste time.

i fully agreed with your explanation that IUI is to help the swimmers to swim fast to meet the egg.

Whereas for my case, I cant have ovulation as I have PCOS. Luckily, I responded well to 100mg of clomid prior to my first IUI. I also have HCG to release the egg. Though I also know there is only an increased chance of 10%, I am willing to go it and looked positive all the time. I have changed my diet, gave up coffee and work less. Just cant help but to feel disappointed.

Anyhow, I am now in Perth, otherwise, I would have visit gynae on D2 to scan for follicle and to understand how I fail my last IUI.. at least must console me mah... hehe
 
oh btw, on my first IUI, on D2, I saw 4 follicles. On D14, only left 2 follicles measuring 25, 26.....

That's why I am so kan cheong to find out how much follicles I have this month.

you guys r right.. pay so much, so must ask for more questions.

My gynae only does the 1st scan between D7-9 and the 2nd abt 2 to 3 days from the first. Did anyone of you go for D2 scans too? Isn't it er...messy?

Talking abt clomid, it's given me too much hot flushes during the day, sometimes at night too, this time round! And, the weather didn't help. My body felt like a furnace! Sigh. This isn't something DH can understand.

so, crafty, i know what you mean by lack of support. mine's 'if i don't say, he won't ask' type. even when i told him abt the discomfort, he dunno what to say too. :|
My desire for a child is greater than his, so i can't help but feel disappointed that this is not really a 'common' goal...

every cycle of clomid/puregon gives different side effects, guess we could only grit out teeth

maybe sometimes guys are at a loss, duno how to help too.

i am glad my hubby quite nice, during the 2ww, he does take note of little complains from me...but sometimes..he will just go " ask doctor or bring u see doctor" statement coz he is helpless too.

i am going for blood test tmr, if AF shun shun come tmr, then next weekend, be doing my scope.
no chance it will go holiay, coz bbt dip to 36.28 today.

I have spoken to gynae before I decide to visit her on D2... Ya, can get messy but according to my gynae, she is used to seeing patients on D2.. Hehehehe.

Size 25-26 is good size. Egg was released on the day we had IUI. But DH spermies not swimming fast enough. :D
 
And btw, this round on clomid is much easier for me. As Perth temperate is around 19-22 deg during day time. Can hardly remember that I am on clomid... last month was crazy, hot flushes all day long... really buay tahan. :D
 
Did my iui yesterday. Was told to collect the washed sperms from lab at 11am. But later nurse at clinic say collect too early coz Dr not in yet. Waited till 1pm++ then do iui. So kept the sample in my bag, like a little precious tresure...kekeke...Dr say ideally no. of sperms shd be 10M, DH's only 6M. Sigh! can only hope there is ONE real commando out of this 6M. Gynae say in 2.5 wks, shd be able to tell bfp or not...Pray for the best!

Ahh..checked with gynae abt having empty/full bladder during iui. He said that a full bladder is req'd to position the womb, normally for those who had not given birth b4. Since i had, so i was told to empty bladder prior to iui. I dare not even go pee hours after iui...just endured..hahaa...lest the precious ones get washed out mah...

btw, i was prescribed with progestrone pills, AND to jab for 2 rounds next wk. Was told the jabs are to support the iui. anybody had the jabs? tot the pills will be sufficient. Errg...another jab...the hcg jab was real pain.

i followed Catmon's advice to take half-boiled eggs. According to her gynae, the egg whites supplies protein for egg growth. i talk yolks + whites. Coz dun bear to throw the yolks away. a bit sayang!

Having support from DH will definitely cut our agony on this journey...know wat? since i'm not getting any mental support, i get financial support from him lor! made him pay 70% of the bills i've so far been paying. Let him know the pinch, then he'll get more cooperative.

Just to share, ive just been discharged from hospital 2 days ago...went for oscar test n all was well.. suddenly i had fresh red bleeding like AF first day at night!! was rushed to hospital n admitted for 2 weeks.. now on total bedrest for 2 days... gynae said im having some retroplacenta bleeding.. so tired have to go through this all over again ... now im resting at home and leaving everything to God's will... guess the road to getting pregnant n subsequently carrying bb to full term is not an easy one...

i dun really have much to update.. just tt i'm diagnosed to have high blood pressure last checkup, sigh, now on medication n hopefully bb can carry to full term w/o any more hiccups. but glad that #1's recovered from fever/cough/runny nose.

is this yr first pregnancy?..gosh..must really rest wel and dun walk ard..my friend had spotting on first preggy..heard also weak womb...she was confined to be in hosp for a mth..everday give hjormones jab..

so your doc gave your hw long mc to rest at hm?


rest well..and dun move too much.

this is my 2nd wk on my 2ww..hopefully i can get postive for my iui also...sigh..very sian..of all this at times over the disapointment

my gynae say usually follicles reach 17mm, they are of good size to release eggs. Not sure if 25mm and above is good or bad. Will follicles get "over-matured" if too big a size?
 
sad...today got spotting..i think AF is today or tomorrow..I was so suprised...

usually is cd30..this time...cd23..means it comes 7 days earlier...

Dis is my no 2.. i bled quite badly few times for my no 1 too but was due to a totally different condition...doc gave me 2 wks mc, bk to work next thur, hope everything is fine n i can walk abt and drive, if not if everyday take taxi, e costs will sure kill me... dun worry abt ur 2ww, sure u will get bfp, bbdust to u!!

gynae said a portion of my placenta got detached from womb, duno y but it happens in 10% of preg... now must be on total bedrest n let it heal..

since ur bbt is still high, cannot be AF wat. Normally my AF reports when bbt plunges to abt 36.4 or below.
 
cannot be bleed whole day with quite a bit of fresh red blood on and off rite?usually like those first day of mense. Is not like consistent for the whole day

if implanation bleeding, how long does it last? Now if test pregnancy kit..will it show anyting, since I am one wk earlier for mense?

will i feel any cramps or any symptons if implanation bleeding?

Yes, gynae scanned again on day of IUI (ie. Day 15). Confirmed egg released cos we couldnt see the follicle anymore. I had my HCG jab on Day 14. Imagine if I have scanned on D12, the follicle could have been smaller, say 21,22.

I have spoken to my gynae regarding the follicle size on D14. She only mentioned it is a good size. Some follicle size can go up to size 30. Size 17 is minimum size for IUI, according to my gynae.

I am not sure zhun or not.

really hope, after the scope, we can conceive naturally..but abit tough though.have a feeling dr fong would put me on immeidate puregon and iui.
