Vivian, Alcohol can be taken even during breastfeeding. THe important part is to time it in such a way where the alcohol is not passed through the BM. The doctors and LCs usually recommend that you take the alcohol immediately aft BF-ing. Usually the alochol will dissipate from the blood within 1 hr. So feeding anytime 2 hrs later is conidered safe and ur child should not get drunk. However, if you drink and feed immediately, the alocohol will pass to bb thru BM.

bbjoy, this time I got no red wine. So I might just survive on Ginger Wine from EYS.

ANyway i don't really like wine... I prefer beer (but cannot take cos it's "liang"). LOLZ

That's why I changed to Dr Paul Tseng this round. Last Gynae not encouraging. Actually Dr Paul says bb cannot be too big else difficult to come out. Keep below 3kg ideally. Mine is abt 2.7kg at Week 37. He says gd size to try for vbac. If too big, chances will be lower lor.

RE: Green fresh coconuts
Can get it from NEX foodcourt on the top floor. The stall that sells fresh fruits has it if u go early. Or Kovan hawker center has fresh green ones too. Yummy!

can drink beer( must be warm) or cook beer for confinement instead of rice wine/dom etc.
but only can use Guinness stout, the black beer as this is the only pu beer.

usually ppl dun recommend as compare to dom/ red wine, less benefits and not 'hot' enough for confinement.

Can, in fact any child can opt to defer to a later year. Usually they aren't fussy if it's a year and you just mention the child born year end and you think it is better developmentally for the child to defer admission.

I personally prefer yr end bb cos both my elder two all year end. Can celebrate together. Heehee. When they go primary sch, no diff whether yr end or beginning of the yr bb. All abt the same. Ctrus - ya, it's really ex to bring up kids nowadays. I'm not worried about only child being lonely. Having siblings doesn't ensure that they will play together mah! Next time ur boy will have his own friends &amp; he won't be lonely de.

N he told me her teacher asked if i'm in hosp coz everytime i fetch her, so these days nt me.. And #1 said i in hosp!! Guess the prep talks are working? Coz we kept telling her when i in hosp will be daddy or ah-ma wif her.. She alwaz answer saying she wanna go hosp oso.. Bt tells her cc teacher i in hosp? Hopefully she'd be ok.. Coz i'd be admitted 31dec 6pm!! Counting down!! Will update u guys again!! So excited!!

Re: lemongrass shower gel
Having my confinement now. For the first few days of confinement, I use purely the herb water to bath. Only the last couple of days, I started using the lemongrass shower gel together w herb water to bath. Haha.. Coz no soap like very dirty liddat.

Bblove, my first was emergency csec. Had very bad shivering as a side effect. Was initially worried that I will have the same side effect for this second one. Turn out, dun have. Instead I had itchiness on my body for ard 1 day. Also one of the side effect. Not sure if the uncontrolled shivering is due to too heavy dosage of epi. Coz the emergency csec, I had epi for ard 4 hours. Whereas this time it's only for a couple of hours. If u have uncontrolled shivering again, let the anaesthetic doctor know. He will put something in ur drip to control the shivering n make u feel better (there's a cost for this liquid too).

Re : no of bottle of alcohol / wine during confinement.
I have none. I don't like alcohol, so no rice wine or hard liqor for me. My mum insists that i took 2 bottles of DOM home from her place. See whether my helper can cook up something using it or just force myself to drink a litle.

Just realised that i didn't buy any new clothes for #2, went to Orchard to shop for newborn clothes for CNY, but couldn't seems to find any nice NB for boys. I reckon will just take #1 clothes as some of them are still in wrappers and never been worn before.
I have yet to buy anything for my confinement. Hubby has commented that he &amp; MIL will take care of it when i pop. My hospital bag is forever half packed as i really have no idea what to pack except for my clothes, undergarments, pj, hp, blackberry, camera and all the chargers. Hubby has dumped his clothes into the luggage and say he is ready to go anytime. Am so unprepared!

LM, the latex foam mattress from the manufacturer does not have brand. The boss said whatever brand I want, he can put label for me wor. But he only has 2 sizes: 28" x 52" x 3" at $159, and 24" x 48" x 3" at $110. That was the special price at Motherhood Fair, but I think should be able to still get this price if there's still stock.

My #1 and #2 are nearer year end too and I really like end of year bbs ... There is always something so festive and celebratory about year end!

By 6, they would have caught up so I'm not cOncerned about sch.

Will you stay two nights? How old are your #1 and #2? mine's 6 and 4 so I'm so hoping for a 4 year gap instead of 5, calendar year..

Let share my labour story ...
26th after lunch found some spotting on my panties, I thought it was related to the cervix exam done on Monday. After dinner around 8pm I started to experienced some serious soreness on my right tailbone and I thought it was just due to lack of movements ( have tried less walking after heard doctor said baby head engaged ) ... Husband was overtime so I was home alone, I just rest on the bed and tried to sleep, but once a while I can feel extremely painful on my right hip bone and pressure at my vagina ... I didn't have pains at my stomach so I didn't link these symptoms to contraction till the interval getting shorter and shorter .. There's a frequency and pain duration always last for 1 min . I started to google about labour contraction ... I found this link http://www.babycenter.com/0_labor-what-it-feels-like_10339941.bc and realised that I might having contraction, I started to monitor using the iPhone apps ... The interval was around 17mins and pain last more than a minute.
Around 1030pm my husband called me and told me that he just went off, I didn't tell him as I still not confirm .. 11pm he back and we started to track the interval, it getting closer to 10mins interval .. We started to pack our hospital bag, he cooked some herbal soup while I went shower . We also called our Gynae and he said we can go hospital already ..
We reached mount A around 1am, my pains started to get more and more frequent and the level of pains also getting more stronger .. The nurse checked and said the opening already 3cm, so it wasn't false alarm ..
