thanks all for the encouragement & advice.
think to increase my milk supply, i really need to pump/latch 3-4hrs consistently but sometimes either forget or lazy till boobs feel hard & painful. But luckily no engorgement (keep fingers crossed) cuz everytime b4 I latch/pump, I'll use a warm cloth to wipe my boobs then hv a quick massage on the area.
But everytime after latch/pump, my boobs still feel painful tho soft oredi...dunno why.
BB is bk from TMC tdy but got to continue to sun him under the sun.

My son also has pimple with pus at the underarm.
I brought him to see GP, who prescribed some cream- stating that it is a bit of skin infection. after 1-2 days, the problem is resolved. He also has lots of rashes at the insides of elbow n neck, which another cream given by the doc. Ceres: colostrum can be pumped out - will take sometime cos the nipple not so soft & the ducts are not fully flowing yet!

Suika, i also had blood in EBM before. To play safe, i threw it away -my take is better safe than sorry. however my colleague's nurse told her that the blood is fine...i leave it up to you to decide.

actually i was thinking shd b ok ba coz if we latch on that side n it bleeds bb oso drink like that...i kept it but gonna give bb during the nxt feed (not storing this) coz i so happens managed to pump more during that time wor
mi now will empty the other side first then trf to another bottle be4 continuing on my right side...in case bleeds again wan throw oso wun b so heartpain

Hershey - My boy also didnt poo for 1 day liao... any1 here having the same problem? Is it normal?
He seem to be very tired today after his baby shower month which is held yesterday... his diet became irregular.. he used to drink 100ml every 3hrs...but this few days he will skip/drink lesser for some of his meal... wondering is it normal? Or is he not feeling well?

Cool: me too gave birth to my prince n the same day but mine morning n is natural wif epidural. Heh.

So got to pump out get ready as my mom dislike I feed him bm cuz she feel fm can le she dun wan bb later stick to me like wat than hard for her tk cr later.. Sigh. Ceres, your pill to boost your milk supply is it from Irene? she gave me Domperidone.
Ladies, my boy full month party has just ended. Was so angry ! Cos my ah yis saw my boy n exclaimed that he is very yellow which include his eyes n tummy! Was so upset n angry with mysElf! I'm gonna to bring him to see his pd tml hope his jaundice is not in real dAnger! So frustrating! ;(
mrslong: I latch my baby on one side until my that breast feel soft already (at least 10 minutes though). Then I burp him and try to get him to latch the other side. Sometimes he refuses it no matter how I try so i will remember and latch him starting with the other boob the next time round. Got to remember else our breasts will be 1 big 1 small in future.
Btw, babies can extract milk from us better than your pump can. Therefore whatever you can pump out does not mean that is what baby is taking. Surely baby is taking in more.

vivi == this was wat happened when pple come my house visit me and bb.. i also kan cheong went to see PD.. then PD tell me bfing bb can take up to 2 mths to recover.. he say its mild.. but at tat time.. bb eyes were yellow... then i decided to forget abt it.. and her jaundice subsided... dun kan cheong urself.. i kan cheonged myself for nothing also

i latch my girl longest 1.5hrs n she still not enuff....if not wrong can latch ur bb s long s they wans....u can change side every 30-45mins shd b no problem

last wk went to polyclinic, jaundice level was 150. only jaundice level below 200 then no need to go back for review.
so doc was me to bring my bb for detail blood test, to prove that he is normal jaundice not because of liver blood.
doc did mention that some bb take about one month for the jaundice to clear.
going back on wed to take the result, hope everything is ok.

Same here...my bb is 37 days old...i have trouble getting him to sleep in the day...he sleeps for about 15 to 20 minutes, then wake up...and this pattern continues even after we have checked everything is ok (diaper clean, room not too warm, feed him, etc)...sometimes he wants to be carried...very tiring and really miss his first 2 weeks when he hibernates!

vernie -- thanks for reassuring.. ya.. she keep stretching and stretching.. stretch until wake up... i put bean bag on her, she will push away... argh... she now know how to turn.. sometimes i jus step out to throw her diapers.. i come back, her eyes open liao.. Hi mummies, I delivered my bb c-sect on 30th July. He weighs 3.010. Went to c my gyane on the 29th n ctg not good n I've not dilated yet, so had to c-sect. Envy u mummies who experienced natural birth!!!
I was really having a hard time last two days, somehow I feel the ppl in gleneagles not v helpful. Not sure if it's cos I'm in a two bedded ward. I was trying to learn to Bf my bb, after 2 tries the nurse told me my nipple too short must use breast shield, n cos bb suck n sleep n suck n sleep so the whole Bf session was v long, worse is after tt bb still cry, I'm so confused Dunno if my breast did provided anything for bb or is he just using it as a pacifier. This morning was worse when pd told me bb wt drop n he got jaundice which the cause is most likely cos he's not getting enough, so today when I was trying to latch bb on, he kept crying n I broke down n cry too!
Finally one of the v experience nurse came in n start to massage my breast n press it real hard, n I finally saw milk/colustrum coming out fr my nipple, I was so happy! Then the nurse taught me how to latch bb, though bb latched but he refuse to suck, just latch n sleep. Nurse says it's cause jaundice bb tend to b more tired, is it true? Any of u got same experience?
N when I was pumping my breast the milk is yellow n each time I only manage about 20ml total fr both breast. Is it normal?

yup, jaundice bb are more sleepy. The "yellow milk" is actually ur colostrum, so dun worry. Keep pumping, i believe the supply should increase. Dun stress ya, just latch ur bb n give him watever you have pump out. If not enough then top up with FM. At least clear his jaundice first..

jaundice in bb is common. depending on ur pd, sm will recommend u stop bf and give fm to control e level of jaundice. wt drop is common too in newborns so dun worry
u just delivered that is why ur yield is low... mine also low... so dun worry, just latch n pump. sup w fm if needed... just like what suika said

Serene, my bb boy also more alert nwadays.. N get cranky when we don't carry him. Wonder what I should do. Haiz..
Just to check hw long ur bb wake up After each feed? Mine usually din last for 3 hrs when I latch him. But if I bottlefeed him with ebm he can last longer. Y issit so??

coz when u latch the amt he suckle each time is much lower then when u bottle feed...that's y we nid to latch them min 20mins like that....my girl at times can latch for 1hr but last her like half hr slp oni so after that i'll topup w EBM to let her go slp if not she can latch for v long again n i'm gonna b so tired...that's wad i did

My bb too. Think is cuz after I gave birth immd at del suite I feed him bf Liao. He sometime can't slp will angrily cry n open mouth I hug he suck few mouth slp.
I also notice after feeding fm thru bottle, he can't suck better than when i feed him in hospital. The nipple I place near his mouth he willshake head or suck n push out like telling me wring nipple. Have to try many times.
By the way I think I'm having sore throat n flu. Is it ok to bf bb?

wonder if any of you mummies experience this.
my girl who is now 43 days old have started to indicate that she's sleepy by being cranky. she used to sleep instantaneously after feed all the time. these days, she will show her crankiness til i rock her to sleep.
good thing though is that she doesnt wake up at night as much.

I read thru the post often n remember some said few days back hm jandice will increase. I think mine getting abit yellowish. Gonna bring bb for check up tdy.. Actually should b fri but pd said jandice lvl low ask me mon bring. But no wash hair etc. So sticky.. Dun feel like going..

Suika - ya lor. When life is getting better for me, a newborn came along [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]. I know tat drugs are safe but I nvr eat them also. Just let it recover on it's own.

Hi Everyone.
Congrats to those who had given birth. It's been a long time since I last logged in. Had a hard time handling my boy. Nearly went into depression and thus immediately call my confinement agency to engage back the same nanny to look after my boy for another month.
It's been so hard to get him to sleep after nanny went back. He would be awake since 10.30am and then he gets tired but not willing to sleep.. cry and cry.. carry him but then awhile later he cry again... he could go on and on till sometime at 5pm then finally sleep.
Even with nanny here, it is also tough but at least then now not on my own. My hubby was not of much help too cos he gets short tempered easily and will shout at Kayden if he doesn't sleep and cry for too long. That adds more stress to me.
Now Kayden doesn't sleep immediately after milk anymore. I really wonder why. Hope with the help of nanny, we can try to condition him to be more easy to handle.
Now if he cry, we try not to carry him. We just try to pat him back to sleep.

Other than the first 2 or 3 days after CL left, he is not willing to sleep in the day after milk (from his bath time around 10 or 11am till night time around 10pm). I really feel like giving up latching on because it is still painful despite me seeing the LC already. I tried to follow the techniques i am taught but it doesnt seem to work when i do it alone. My nipples are still painful despite BF-ing for about 1 month... wanted to pump and give bb EBM instead but very hard to judge her timing.. sometimes she can go for 2 hrs before the next feed sometimes 3 hrs.. if i warm up my EBM in advance i am worried she rejects it then will waste the milk.. If EBM is warmed cannot re-warm again rite?
