wah, i din know i pay so much! shd hv gotten from ntuc instead. i din think of getting from ntuc cos last time my bro claimed & they took a very very long time to pay him back. i meant he went early tis year to taiwan up till now they still haven't pay him back!
 


jul/mich:: i juz called my agency to confirm.. the ting i need to do is to get the ME first.. n bring that girl down with her passport, WP..n of cos her barangs. i will sign transfer form...n they will refund the rest of the loan we paid upfront till the day she's sent back. meanwhile, i will continue to pay the levy..to a max of 18 days...however, the rest of the levy amount (ie 19th day onwards) will only be refunded after she is technically n physically transferred to the next employer!

i din noe abt the $15/day which they need to pay.. prolly i ask my #1 maid.. cos she was a transferred maid.

no.. after i send this #2 maid off..im not taking another liao le. the girls r bigger le (understand instruction more), n soon they will be gg to sch liao (subject to avail slots by sch tho)... so ya.. no need 2 helpers le.

my this #2 maid... she has no common sense de.. alot of times.. do extra ting! like we say.. "zo lang kiang lo ho..mai keh kiang!!" she's those keh kiang kind lor! n keh kiang all the wrong n irritating ways! but one ting.. she is good at sewing! haha.. my mum said she was frm those textile or watever factory de..did ironing n sewing.. she applied to come to work in spore to escape from some wedding arrg the parents wana put her in!!!

somehow at some point, we were being cheated lor, cos in her bio-data...it mentioned she had some 2yrs experience few yrs back mah... so..

anyways..... that's it!!!


jul:: u can juz tell your helper upfront.. when ur ard, n unless u need her help... leave sam to u can liao. initially my #1 helper oso..she will respond to the bbs very quickly.. but she was quick to pick up our 'body language' (even before we had a chance to tell her) n she back-off quite abit when hb & i are around..which i appreciated her initiative. wah, then the #2 maid came in.. she every now n then.. kept asking us "carry?".."take bb?"... until to a point.. my hb oso very pek chek with her! haha.
 
my friend was telling me u can request to not pay the loan upfront and pay every month after deducting from the maid's loan.. is that true?

Jul: can lah.. just tell her like "thank you for your help. When I am around I will take care of Sam, you can go do your other work. if i need your help i will call for u ok?"
 
oh btw.. juz bought a pair of strollers for the girls ystrday.. the combi they had since birth..used quite abit liao..n too bulky also. we got some cheaper brands..i tink goodbaby or duno wat baby la...abt $99 oni. compare to one which we quite like from mothercare ($119).. the cheaper-duno-wat-baby brand is easier to push n the back rest is higher up oso. wah, these days, i cant carry my girls much liao..whole bodyache! -.-" so ya, had to spend to buy the stroller.

(hehe.. if say we're gog on any short trip or wat..can use oso.. lalala~)

but.. i tink looks quite comfy la, at least not so cramp at the sides...n the back rest is high enuff.. so when they r bigger le.. still can lean back.

wah.. the last few days.. go here go there.. carry carry.. (some places not so 'condusive' for them to walk mah.. so..) like.. chinatown market..wet market really super wet! (haha.) wah.. carry till.. backache..n hand muscle oso cramp.. until hand shake so much when feeding...(until they were confused if i really meant to be feeing or juz playing a fool!!!!!)

btw back to the maid issue... my this 'very helpful' #2... wah lao.. i so angry with her.. spoil n break so so so so so many things in my hse!!!! first week, stain a new blouse i bought..worn oni ONCE! (ok..not very expensive..but it's $40..n i really xin tong.. im not really a person who likes to shop, but if i really like something, yes i will go get it kind..n worn oni ONCE..) n din even tell me.. until a mth or more latr, i was like asking whr the blouse is, din even tell me, din even return to me... keep inside the wardrobe quietly!!! then bowl la.. standing fan, just bought not long oso..oso la, it's those cheap de.. like oso at least $50 can!?! just bought not more than 2mths i tink!! plate.. wat else, scrub my basin tap like duno wat.. whole ting so many scratches n blur.. it was shinny de lor! aarrrrgggggg~ alot more to complain la. hahaha...

sorry sorry! ranting so much here!

sianz.. really cant get a good helper who can really help de hor?!? my initial the fili de.. da xiao jie.. din do much..n take long time to complete a task.... this to replace her... try to do too much..did so much mistakes n spoil so many things!!!!!

i wun say my #1 maid nw is perfect.. but at least she's more 'normal' kind. gosh! i hope she will not chg or bcm worse! i duno if going forward..long term wise need her to work alone..if she can handle or not.. but ya, we dun expect the hse to be spotless all the time la.. priority (like all of us).. it's the bbs.. rite?

actually like me both my boi nmy SIL gal at my IL house n also 1 maid nia den with my IL supervise so far ok n my IL stay in landed so more things to clean up n clear leh maybe u try 1 maid first? if she can handle u can save $600 per mth leh.. summore after u rtn home u will take over ur gals n ur maid can go n deal with the rest of the outstandin housework? cos getin another maid wait same prob u also headache...

I also wana complain. My maid put wet children's shoes on the washing machine socket. Then the power was on, the water drip inside, and i heard tsk tsk tsk sound !! I immediately ask her to come over and see, it's like short circuit and may catch a fire anytime !!!

I really angry this time cos it's so dangerous. I told her cannot put anything on the power socket from now on and always turn off the washing machine socket after use. I even put a note and stick on the wall...

Yeah really blur like sotong leh! My maid is aws leaving behind things like Sam's pacifier. I have to remind her to bring fresh clothes to MIl's. She's aws forgetting to change bedsheets & hand towels. Machaim another baby to look after sometimes.

How to make them more automatic?

ya, i think you'll do fine with just 1 maid, saving $600 a month is quite alot.

i just tell the maid what i want her to do and demonstrate it for her to see , so next time she follow my method.

Doing is one thing (but it may not be done right). Making them automatic instead of manual is another story! Really wanna puke blood sometimes.

well, the reason we got a 2nd maid in the 1st place was cos to lighten my mum's 'stress lvl'.. she travel up to my plc every mrng n rtn hm every evng. my sisters n daddy r quite dependant on her..rather, my mum is those sort like she rather do alot of tings herself, so end up we owas leave alot to her..n not help in the hse! so, she will 'stress' alot in the mrng.. to rush to my plc..n in the evng..wait for us to return hm..or near hm b4 she 'stress' n rush hm.. to feed my shihtzu..n my daddy/sisters! sometimes can really see her very very tired. but she doesnt prefer us to bring the girls n helper to her plc instead! she insist to cm over.. (1stly, she dun wan me to 'intefere' abt her plc..hw tings shld b placed or watever for the comfy n safety of my girls! 2ndly, she rather she tired than we all (hb+me+girls+maid) to rush in mrng to send them to mum's plc b4 work! 3rdly, if at hm, maid can do hsehold chores..note, my mum doesnt like ppl to do her tings, she has her own ways..so maid will not be helping her do her hsework even we're over her plc..most wash dishes..like dat!!)

so arh.. in the first plc i oso dun wana hire a 2nd maid.. we're not well-off family, hb dun earn dat much..me even even worse! high liabilities.. n 2 babies!! but i dun wan my mum to be so so so tired. ya. hoho~

but nw they're older le lah... n we can trust #1 more......so.. can 'fang shou', fang xin more liao!

oh, plus my hse the big monster, he shed quite abit of fur de.. n needs his regular walk... so arh ya, need extra work to keep plc as fur free as possible n oso entertain n not neglect my monster much! (sigh, my shihtzu already so so so badly neglected aft i got married n preggy n with the bbs!!!)

actually even with 1 maid ur mum shd be ok bah..u can ask ur maid to wake up earlier to mop n sweep the floor den when ur gal wake up assists ur mum den whenever ur gal nap continue with her chores? u can check with ur mum first if 1 maid she can cope? cos esp now at our kiddo age i only play with him n check wat he doin sumtime i even left him in the living room while i cook but will peek on him.. maybe u try out first???

actually be4 i had #1 i also dun like the idea of maid but liek wat Joeey say with maid really relax alot.. n maybe my current maid is still ok so i tink not too bad to get a maid now haha...

Ur mum sounds a lot like mine in the sense that my sisters will leave all the hsework & washing & ironing to her even tho she has a job. What to do? She insisted on spoiling them!

MIL refuses to come up tho. Coz she wants to stay home & do her things. Yet she will heart pain that her son is tired & will nag at me all the time on ways to lighten her son's load. Now that I'm working, she dares not say so much. Else she keeps irritating me all day abt how small things like how packing Sam's diaper pack is MY job & my Hubs doesn't know anything coz he's a MAN.

Oh yeah, MIL makes Hub's tea for him every am. She will put in the milk, sugar, & even cool the tea coz he cannot drink hot stuff. I have to pour my own tea & add my own sugar.

I dun mind doing things for myself. I'm not that lazy, but these things really get on my nerves lor.
 
piggy:: it was not about wat time to do the hsework... but my mum had to rush to my plc in the morning before we leave hse for work...or very very soon aft we left... n in the evening, if hb has entertainment n i need to go hm on my own..i can oni reach hm ard 7pm.. then by then my mum go hm will be very late..n tiring..n smtimes need to prepare dinr for my sis/dad.... (n my shihtzu will be so hungry..)

im sure technically, it is possible to handle 2 babies at the same time alone de..juz need to schedule tings ard sensibly n all...work fast leg fast hand. but both my girls super active, n owas fight eachother, n esp with the big monster at hm..quite dangerous!! but nw, they r more controllable la.. so i tink she can handle de.. dat's y im determine to send the #2 maid off!!! (i juz cant wait to do so!!!!)

going forward, if i had #3 bb...the girls will already be in sch le. then if my mum still wana help me....same routine or see hw latr on.. hv le den tink. hahaa.

i owas talk very very rudely towards my mum de.. even till now (dat i m a mother myself).. smtimes we (sisters n i) will say that's the way we all communicate.. but..smtimes i do feel bad..very very bad towards my mum!

dat day i was telling her.. when i was young, i owas wan my apples to be skinned.. i will eat the apples..n of cos, end up my mum will eat the skin!!!!! the other day i was scrapping sm apples for Mattea & Keona.. n then i had to take the left overs...n i told my daddy & mummy.. now, im the one taking the skin! i told my mum..i wan her to eat more good food now.. cos frm young, she gv all to us!!!!!

my mil boils tonic soup for his children. Because there isn't enough for everyone, my hubby will share his bowl of soup with me.

when my mum brew birds' nest, she makes sure hubby and me each has a bowl to drink ...

Next time, if i have a DIL, i have to be fair to her too ...

Hiaz I think I'm too nice & polite to my MIL. In fact her son-in-law is very nice to her too. She's one lucky lady hahaha

I think b/c of my presence, my HUbs has not taken any birds' nest for the past yr+. B/c sometiems I notice MIL boiling birds' nest yet Hubs doesn't get to drink (of course, I dun either). And MIl spends a lot of time picking birds' nest while I run after Sam yet I dun see the finished pdt. Think it went to SIL heehee.

I agree, need to be fair. If not, there will be a lot of unhappiness in the family. It's not healthy

My MIL makes me eat Sam's leftovers. Actually I find it very disgusting. It's soggy, soft, without seasoning.. & it's cold! Anyway it's just a couple of spoons of porridge, what's the big deal?

I'm willing to sacrifice the best bits for Sam from my own plate or my own home. but I hate it when SIL & MIL automatically start dishing out the best bits for her kids from our communal meal. They can't assume that everyone's happy with the stems of the veg right?

I don't like to eat 'leftovers' lor.

Anyway bcoz of this, I told myself never to be so rude when I'm dining with others.
 
hmmmmm~ to be fair.. my MIL do gv me a share la.. im the only DIL..n my sil is in oz. BUT, her soup n watever doesnt taste nice!!! very saltish..n ya.. she uses MSG at home! sorry, im not appreciative..but really... i duno hw to!!!!!

my sil n mil cant take birdnest..(weird) but they will hv gastric.. but they do hv some at hm..so ya.. oni dat time whn i was preggy.. she boiled couple of times for me & hb (n smtimes fil if he's in town..)... but.. agn... it's super-duper sweet.. n doesnt taste good at all. so end up, i oni drink few mouth n gave excuse i scared allergy or asthma or watever...(n high sugar lvl)... n my hb took it all. lalala~

hehe jul... i love my girls' porridge! when there's leftover frm their food jar.. i will eat! hehehe... but if it's already cold, then no lar.......
i can imagine u hvg to eat the cold leftovers!
 
aiyo.. her cooking arh... ok la.. like curry..i will say she can cook better than my mum's la.. her style is different kind.. her gravy is thick..n alot of liao inside kind.. but..of cos taste better, she adds MSG!!!!!

juz cant imagine in future will move into new hse tog... wah kaoz.. tink i will ask my helper to cook seperate food for my girls..(if can, for me also!)... i simply cannot accept to eat 'outside' food cooked from home!!!!!

Cos im the one cooked it so i know hw much effort, love, time n $$ is put into it...so dun waste..hahahahHAHAHA

urgh, i know what u mean man about pple picking out the best stuff and leaving the rest for others.. Other pple no need eat good stuff meh. Now when we're out having dinner with ILs they'l always wanna order food suitable for shayna. i told them just go ahead and order what they want, just have one or two items that are non spicy that she can eat. I dont want to cultivate the habit of ordering around shayna or she gets to choose when she grows up..

huh, i may cook for shayna but i dont eat her left overs leh.. cold porridge with minimal seasoning is worse..

does ur MIL have this mindset that u have to finish cos she herself ate the leftovers when her children had eaten all the good stuff and dont wanna eat any more?

I think u're spot on! She was a SAHM so her life revolved ard her family. And they weren't well off in the past. Old habits, hard to break. Cannot waste food, & the mother has to self-sacrifice coz there's not enough to go ard?

Hmmph! I dun wanna sacrifice for her grandkids lor!
 
dolce: u slim, u can afford to finish nat's food. i cannot afford to finish shayna's food... good lah, she's my weight loss buddy. Ensures i get enough exercise by making me bring her all over and ensures i dont get to finish the entire portion cos got to share with her. haha..

bobo: i'll throw the msg away too! but hard to leh, she sure buy back lor.. maybe next time even hide it from u..

jul: at least she doesnt pour his coffee/ tea/ milo onto plate to cool b4 giving him.. hee.. or does she?

wah, your mil made u eat leftovers? Then did u? I also don't eat my gal's leftovers. Yucks. Luckily I only see my mil once a week.

Whenever she makes bird nest, she'll make for everyone. So I will also get a bowl. I've never had bird nest home cooked until I married into their family so I guess it's an upgrade for me. My family never had bird nest and my single dad didn't have sense to eat such stuff or even got any bu stuff for me when I was young. So I should say most of u gals here are pretty lucky to have good doting mums.

Mich, if you want to keep the maid at home till someone wants her then you have to bring your maid down to agency every now and then when the potential employer wanna interview your maid. So this is quite troublesome.
