irene, you brave la. If I feel the pain, I will go hospital cos I scare later no time for epi.

My colleague took her time for her #2 and later when reach hospital 6cm dilated then nurse say no time liao. She says she nearly die from the pain. So I am not risking this time. Wahahaha... I kiasi.

My feet are swollen now also. 2nd time already. My mum told me that for some people, if swollen for the 3rd time means its time to delivery liao... dont know how true though.
 
fifi, try putting your feet up when you are home or even at your desk, it will help reduce the water retention to your feet.

What is inside for those herb me dunno la only Know is good for confirment .
Problem is I also DUNNO my mum knoW how to use it a nOt heehee . She say her dad shop supply to those CL agency or CLady and they mark up the price .

oic. So they're prepacked stuff? I got basically from the list that mich gave us previously and asked my CL what else to buy. I think Dang Shen and DAng Gui are the most ex in the list. And also, they've different grades. Eg Dang gui can be as cheap as $5 per 100g to $$40 per 100g. Better check with her abt the grades of these stuff. As advised by the list, i got the top grades ones. Not sure how much i'll be charged though.

I didn't get any herbs for bathing, going to use lemon grass instead.

BTW, wanna ask those who took dang gui for their #1 births, did it affect your milk supply? coz heard that dang gui will affect milk supply.
 
BBnGG, I am stubborn lah. I buay gam wan the 1st one I cannot make it without the epi so this time wanna see if I can do it without epi.

Bean, the observation ward is like the 4 bedder kind. 4 beds with curtains only. Got toilet and bathroom in it too.

10cm lor...no 10cm cannot deliver.

I tell you hor, I am not scared of injection one but the epi injection really very different from usual injection. I can feel it when the doc inject and its not comfy.
 
Irene : Ya I thinK i in the observation ward . say abt epi I scare , let me on real time act . I MUST BE BRAVE . 10cm...omg I can imaging it open until 10cm big .

Bean,when the contraction comes, you will SCREAM for epi eventhough the needle is so thick!
I can't remember much about the epi injection but I can remember how terrible contraction pain is! That's why I keep telling my gynae, I don't want induction this time!

I oso thinking of going thru it without epidural leh. My mum kept encouraging me to go without it ... she said she can do it for all 5 of us, why can't i do it?

ya, if prepacked, likely the grade not so good type. Coz who will wanna buy expensive pack?

lemon grass can get at any wet mkt/supermarket.

Pegsfur, so far people I know who can do it without epi is natural kind...not induction.

That time my induction is break waterbag and put on drip. I ren for 2hrs trying the laughing gas but I dunno how to use it then I ask for the jab in the thigh. The nurse walk out and return to ask me again to confirm then I immediately tell her 'I don't want that jab already...give me EPIDURAL!!!' Wah laoz...the doc only came like 1 hr later with the epi!!! I was standing on the bed with pain while waiting for her.

My mum also went to the medical hall and the auntie will pack this kind of herbal that u had posted. But I'm not sure if the ingredient is the same. But what I know is natural birth and c-section ingredient will be different....
 
Bean,my friend went through induction but hers different from mine. Her gynae insert pill into her vaginal to soften the cervix and then wait for dilation.
Mine no insert pill, just break waterbag and put on drip. I think the drip is some hormones thingy to speed up the contraction.

So I think if you are not really dilating yet and not ready to give birth, gynae have to insert pill to soften the cervix. If you are already dilated and having mild contraction then can do without the insert pill.
 
woa...im thinking of gg c-sect but think it will be quite painful on the healing process...

anyone opted for c-sect directly w/o considering natural?

My gynae advised actually c-sect is cheaper than natural with epi and assisted delivery.

I afraid of the pain of the labour process so thinking of c-sect.
 
Regarding prepacked herbs for confinment :

Fu Hua got the list on what herbs to get for confinment. They can even prepack for you.

That time i was induced also like that ... ah wong told me no epidural needed but she said can ask for pain killers. So i asked the nurse for it, also took them an hour to bring it to me. But aft taking, no effect at all!! Told the nurse and she said will give me jab ... aft jab, felt weak all over but pain only relieved alittle, and not long after, Owen came out le. Hiaz ....

celine, your previous induction got insert pill? Or just break waterbag and put on drip?

Think natural birth is good lah...coz everything just happen so fast and no need to wait or think. I am those who definitely cannot sleep even with epi while waiting.

kekek my waterbag oso burst ard 1130pm and i reach hospital around 1hr later.. but then i think more impt or better is to have early morning delivery, so that u have more rest in the hospital. i delivered at 7pm the following day and the 2 nites passed soo quickly, before i know it.. oredi going home liao..

i got all of mine frm EYS during the 20% discount on birthday monthfor members.. very worth it...EYS shld have good grade stuffs right? got everything, the red/blue dates, dang shen, danggui.. dried longan, pearl powder, confinement wine, ginseng wine. BFW..birdnests/chicken essence.dong chong cao (for now). spent ard 2.5k that time.

kekekek confinement all taken well care off..my CL will be with me for 2mths.. again my onli bottleneck is my boy.... u can plan/prepare everything.. but if the boy's not cooperative...

I keep having very mild stomache these few days. Dunno if its my stomach weak or what. Heng tmr going to see ah wong already so can ask her.

So that time your pain is bearable since you didn't need epi?

u stay in punggol right? why dun u visit the EYS in compasspt. got one senior sales lady quite good in her recommendation... not pre-packed but she will tell u all that u need.

Bearable???!! Aiyoh .. unbearable oso boh bian cos ah wong said no epidural .... lucky thing is when i really buay tahan le den Owen came out shortly. But that's also abt 12hrs of labour pain leh.

I oso keep getting tummy ache these days leh ... let me know wat ah wong said when u come back from her place ok?

we went to recce at hock hua to check out the prices first and was shocked to see the price difference in dang shen and dang gui. If cheap, really very cheap and small pc type. The ex ones are very big lor. Guess it also depends on how u view these herbs, if it's important to be good grade or just sui bian so long as it's in the soup can already. I thot since can get at wholesale price, i might as well get the good grade ones.

Anyway i'm getting CL, so will get her to cook all these for me. Last time for #1, i just catered for 2 weeks, so didn't bother abt herbs. For the 1st 2 weeks, i didn't even ask my aunt to make the herbal soups for me coz i was totally clueless on these.

I haven't checked how much Dom I've left. Dom can be kept perpetually one right? Coz i opened the Dom a while back already. Don't intend to drink too much dom though since doing to bf.

since ur mum is a fan of hock hua.. she shld have a regular shop that she goes to right? i think going to a regular shop that u/ur mum knows oso helps.. then u go along with her to that shop and learn more lor :p

I c ... so after comparing SL's herbs and the ones i listed, $180 is really really cheap compared to SL's $2.5k. Maybe i'll get those in-between cos i'm not exactly particular abt them. But the $180 one seems like cmi hor?

My induction is the same as you. Break water bag &amp; put on drip. I think i can really bear pain. survive on laughing gas only. Hopefully this time is natural &amp; very fast can give birth.

err the 2.5k inclusive of the dong cong cao that i am drinking these days..

err i think unopened DOM can be kept longgggggggg but opened ones...even after closing tightly, there would be some kind of evaporation right? i got one bottle of DOM on standby.. but was told of the high alcoholic content so got the wine frm EYS which tastes soo nice...

hahaha i think both of us set to close shop.. wanna do a good confinement this time round.. the 1st time round, i never touch one drop of wine before..
 
Irene, I was also induced cos my boy refused to come out after 41 weeks. My gynea did insert a pill to soften the cervix, then the drip then breaking my water bag.

I also share the same tots as Celine, scare I really karang kabo if i go natural. Wahahaha...

i did not touch a single drop of wine for my 1st delivery, so i really dunno how to answer.. this time round i got one bottle as standby... see what my CL says.. if never use.. will pass over to my mum in future :p

my gal turned only at 34 weeks. So still have chance. If not, if your gynae is experienced enough, can manually turn.
 

pegsfur,fu hua is hock hwa lor. If your mum is regular then she shd be a member so got discount. That day I was at the hock hwa hougang mall and they lady keep asking me to buy ginseng and dunno what coz got promo.

Smurfy, I also didn't touch any liquor for no. 1. Don't intend to this round too.

Piggytoh, if you want get dom let me know. Think my ks hb bought a few but I have no intention to drink and I am closing factory liao.
