i have one thermoguard infrared thermometer...not bad lor...cos easy to take temp, jus click at a distance from the forehead, if the ear one, he will fidget here and there lor, v hard to take ear one i feel...

but then it also depends la, cos ear one may be more accurate..

re: bibinogs class. I'm having 2nd thoughts about having this trial class so early. Just got back from lunch and Inya was recounting her experience with us. It sounds like they have a fabulous curriculum but probably too advance for our age babies. In fact, Inya, like Jacqueline likes the class but her baby was the same as Jovan i.e. couldn't sit still and couldn't appreciate what was going on. So I suggest postponing the trial till when it can be put to better use.

Example given by Inya, if I didn't remember wrongly, she said

during that trial class, the topic of the day was Egg. So the teacher showed a real egg, along with a picture of the egg. The teacher also broke the egg infront of the rest of the class who were paying attention(she's guessing the rest were 14mth to 18mth old) and showed them what's inside the shell. etc etc. She mentioned quite a few stuff which I like but I reckon might be a bit early for gracie now lah. Apparently very similar to GUG (Growing up Gifted).

So sorry. Are you ok with cancelling? Or if you still want to go ahead as long as there are 4 you can start a class liao.

alfafa..my dh also spendthrift! he is eyeing for a new laptop..just for him to online and play games at fb!! i know tat our current laptop is really super slow when start up n shut down..but at least can use..ok ma..but he alwiz give me very funny excuses say cannot log in fb lar, cannot online lar..but i just ignore him..then last nite he told me he ordered a phone from his colleague, which is a "china" product cost abt $100-$200..

hmm..sometimes seems like he can spend more than me..

I think in his world now, there is only me, my hubby and my helper. Really need to expand his world...

jus gave her a cold shower... fed her panadol but she puked it out -_-" wil try again later with the panadol... hb said she might be teething... but im nt sure.. cnt pry her mouth open at the moment but she is drooling a lot past few days... sigh... wad do u all do when ur little ones have fever? wanted to bring to PD but closed already... have to wait til tmr am...
 
anyone's bb has nightmare? i found tat bb Jo always hav nightmare, cry very seriously non stop with eyes closing like ppl beat him type le..then also his breathing like after a serious cry..anything happend to him??
 
Hi Jo..

Does Jo has too much stimulation during the day? if this is the case.. slow down his activities and stretch them out.. the more stimulating ones are done in the morning and the toys or games tat you play with him.. slows down in the afternoon.

Bree will break out crying too if she got too much excitement late in the afternoon or just prior to bedtime.

Lenny, hmm i don think so le..during the day, he will b in his playpen whole day..bcos my mil cant afford to carry him o let him crawl as she cant squad down n stand up easily..then last night..we didnt play with him n i don find anything excitement he has le..

U r sooooo funny. Hehehe.

Re fever, I give ibuprofen +/- paracetamol to control temp, and if he's really unwell fr it, strip him down to nappy and sponge him with a cloth. And becos hb and I know what to look for, we keep an eye out for any signs that may indicate cause of fever - coughing/diarrhoea/tummy pain/runny nose/clawing at ears/paying with teeth or gums blah blah blah. Also they tend to kena all sorts of stupid colds and coughs now u have to bear in mind their throat can also get sore. My boy for eg right now has damn big tonsils and adenoids that are impinging on his drinking. Imptly as u know lah, watch out for a nasty dark rash that does not fade when u press a glass on it, in conjunction to really high temp and really weak bb - indicator to head straight to the a+e without any delay.

tempted to offer my place.. maybe not my home but the function room or the bbq pit around the premises.

cannot really commit.. i didn't even furnish my home for CNY as much as i want to for Bree.. its her first CNY..

My grandparents, both 93yrs old..have been in and out of hospital and ICU since Dec.

kinda taxing for us emotionally and physically for my mom traveling in and out of JKT. she went home to take turns with her siblings staying overnight at the hospital to care for my grandparents.

been discouraged to go back with Bree all the while by my parents cos of the weather and dust. this time round when i mentioned about going back again.. my parents didn't tell me no.. i think they are all prepared for the worst.

supposed to be planning a visit back in March to celebrate my grandpa's birthday.. and then a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland to celebrate Bree's First Birthday cos we are not throwing a party for her.

Touch wood.. if anything happens... the customs in SG is for us not to celebrate new yr and visit other ppl's homes.. but ppl can come visit us after 100 days. anyone can advice?

whew. thanks for your understanding. Yah I also don't wish to repeat the same mistake. I think Gracie was far too young to enjoy her Kindermusik trial last year and kinda wasted that trial. Actually my friends already told me the same i.e. wait till baby is at least 9mth old before going to kindermusik to really leverage on the class. But I just couldn't resist the chance to catch up with other moms mah. Hahaha should organise another kindermusik trial next since we can attend 2 trials.

paiseh think I'll wait till gracie is a bit older before joining the play days trial too. I'm quite interested to check out gymboree now having heard such rave reviews about it from daphne, seabreeze and inya.

Makes sense to me. Think babies our age might be a bit young for enrichment classes? Motorskills based classes on the other hand, would provide plenty of fun for our little budding explorers who are so hyper right now.

oh yah huh. Thought there was talk of hosting a 1 year old party I supposed round about March this year. Paiseh I'm about to start a new job end of Feb so would be spending all my effort on re-orientation plus working out the kinks in the new role. Can't volunteer to organise it.

Any volunteers? How about Jacob Ballas Children's Garden (botannical garden)? Hopefully by then our buds would have started walking. Or if not ... botannical garden or Hort park?? Open space plus no hubbies will be bored since they will not be confined by 4 walls.

I must say that Gymboree is value for money but they are not the best around in the market ... the teacher is better at Little Gym and their equipment is more impressive

Having said that ... now that Gymboree is starting a promotion next week and they are giving 3 free lesson + $30 off ... for less than $30 per lesson ... I will go for Gymboree =p

Haha Lenny.. payment for the class will be equal paying for their salaries too.. actually imo complain also no use cos they will still be sticking there around.. anyway encountering such bad service already became unpleasant experience so no point for sweet revenge just move on if such happens to me..:p oh well..

Very happie to meet the mummies yesterday.. girl is very excited sorrie to Shayna about yelling at her and making her cry. .she's really a bumpkin when meeting other kids it happened before too..i ever wondering when she will stop screaming loudly.. we got very pissed off with her sometimes and i smacked her mouth when she does that..

ya actually i find that baby gyms are more appropriate for their age now due to motor skills fine tuning..little gym's promo for free trial was over last week but cos she missed 2 weeks of classes due to cough and runny nose so cant bring anyone of you too, guess if you guys interested can go for seabreeze's gymboree referral..

Nice meeting up over lunch yesterday and go grocery shopping with meebaby and kome! My back was aching after carrying BB w/o my carrier. Luckily have my stroller to carry all my barang barang.

Jo, like your bb, ryker lately woke up in the middle of the night crying very loud from his throat like screaming with eyes closed. At first no matter how we pat/carry him still the same. Like Missy suggest, we carry him & tell him 'mummy beat beat, kick kick,ok, no more', then put him back to bed & pat him to sleep. But sometimes, it don't work, the final choice will be feed him milk. I really work for him.


CNY Gathering,

I'm take whole week leave, thus, should not be a problems to meet the mummies & babies. I've missed few of the gathering

Seabreeze, which branch of gymboree u will be going ? I just checked Harbourfront branch. As they're celebrating 3rd yr anni next week, thus is giving this promotion - 12 lesson (S$ 399 + member fees S$50), given total 4 free lesson + S$30off for level 3(10 - 16mths). quite attempting .. . .
 
muahaha actually the beat beat thngy is some other mummy taught me but cnt recall who.. becos i recall kirs crying very very very very jialat 2 times before... but both times were outside... very horrible... its up to individual beliefs but i do think something was disturbing her... so 2nd time i learned the beat beat thing i jus kept saying it then she was better after awhile... hee... on top of that i prayed out loud asking the demons to be gone... =P

smacking babies/teaching - everyone has their own way, good or bad... i too at times do smack kirs on her hand, leg, mouth.. .at times she gets it, at times she doesnt.. guess just have to continue... at this age too difficult to reason with them becos not sure if they get it or not... lolx!!! Kirs is showing her stubborn side... so i guess reasoning at this stage is well not appropriately... but i do sayang her n tell her why i hit her after... wahahaha! funny thing is, she listens to papa -_-"

Yap thats the outlet that I checked and the promo is fr 8 Feb to 28 Feb =) and I am 99% sure that I will sign up for the sat class =) finally SH is going for classes cos my #1 start gymboree when he was like 7mth old ... SH now still havent do anything yet ... feel so bad towards him
 
piggy, i also tried to wake him up by telling him, "bb u see, eee wat is tis" n show him his toy and make sounds with the toy to make him wake up..after tat he will sleep then continue crying again for a few times..so in the end feed him with milk too n he will sleep well..

think its ok la..the activities.. only the zoophonics will be more effective for our babies when its introduced at 18mths.

depends on you mommies.. go for the trial to experience it and see how ur babies take it.. good to go for a few schools for trial before committing.

On the topic of food, can anyone tell me where i can buy red lentils? cos so far i see, they are not red coloured ones.

I think now mummies starting to source out for playgroups...other than JG, where else may be good? I intend to enrol Baby K into playgroup when he turns 18mths.
 
wow... storm's a brewing here..the skies are so dark and such a stark contrast from the hot sunny afternoon earlier on.. sudden weather change is the culprit sometimes to make us fall sick..mummies do take care of yourselves and LOs make them drink more water..and CNY coming, actually i'm not really looking forward to it..i'm sure my mum will sure stuff some goodies to CS when she's still not really ready for those tidbits yet..then if she cannot take it she will fall sick then i'm the one with all the work of taking care.. argggh.

i know where u are coming from about rude staff at JG..i also felt pissed at first.. but still decided to sign up after a class preview..

hubby was asking me if giving this up for such minor dispute worth it since i like the curriculum, environment and the teachers. he also said.. no education center is perfect.. what's most impt is for Bree wi enjoy and have fun.. if its minor enough to let go.. then let it go..
