Congrats on ur sleep training success for Gracie. U r really a determined mummy and I can't imagine going thru what u did previously b4 sleep training. Now that she is sleeping well at nite, does she still take day naps? Is this method applicable to day naps as well though day naps are much shorter in duration?

My girls also poo a lot when they were teething a few weeks back. Now only about once a day, before that it was about 3 to 4 times a day. So much Poo!

Which type of frosting did you use for your #1's bday? Fresh cream, Buttercream or Fondant? I didn't know i have to settle on so may nitty gritty details on the cake.
Fondant cake looks very nice but does anyboy know if it tastes nice or would fresh cream be better?

northvirgo:: i chose fondant. i told her i wanted a rocket design so she just made it for me. i only saw the actual design on the actual cake on the day of collection. HAHA! the fondant is very sweet and very pretty. Inside is chocolate fudge. YUMMY. creamless i would prefer.

Thanks for the advice on teething. My boy still constantly having warm body but PD said is ok as long as I check the temperature regularly.
Sleep thru the night - My PD did not advise me to let him cry it out le... What she advise is still let little one drink if they wake up in the middle of the night but reduce the portion or dilute the milk or feed them water. Then slowly do away from feeding... My boy slowly can sleep thru liao.
Feeding slolid - Can reduce their milk intake so that they can eat more solid. As long as they get 2 cups of milk per day is enough for their age now.

you mentioned your pd advising to reduce the portion or dilute the milk or feed them water when they wake up for nite feed. can i check if ur baby drinks alot during the nite feed? cos mine gulps down the 180ml so i'm thinking he's real hungry and am reluctant to dilute or reduce. Its usually at least 7 hrs since his last feed (drinks at 9pm till 4-6am before asking for milk).

I'm also facing the same problem as u cos ariel is also a fussy eater and worse..she's only 7.5kg at 9 months..sob sob.
My mom says my kid wants to copy adults so when i am eating a bao and i peel off a bit of the skin and put it near her mouth, she will willing eat and look at me expectantly for more..likewise if I am eating bread..so recently, i started to pretend to eat her food and feed her and this works (sometimes..)
my mom also suggests that we use our fingers to "push" the food into her mouth and surprisingly this works too.
another way is to pretend to feed her water with a spoon but substitute it with her porridge when she opens her mouth..ha ha..but must be fast and can only use a few times before she wise up.
but we stop feeding when she start spitting out the food cos it's a sign that she is full cos even if we give her milk after that she also don wan.

hope all are well....wow...babies are reacching the BIG 1 real soon....
ugin is teething now.....he does gets cranky very easily and also refuse food....solid or milk.to begin with....ugin is NEVER a milk monster...sometimes i wish he is...coz i am obsessed with his intake..
but well...as long as he is eating and drinking alittle...its better then none...
his milk intake never or merely hits 150ml each feed (he only drinks about 3-4 times aday)...was reaching 210ml once..then suddenly drop....sigh!!!

i can recomment you to buy KARVOL (pharmacies or watsons) to drop on her pillow, bed or clothes when she sleeps..
it does helps with the breathing..

BB C has a different way of exhibiting teething behavior compared to waht i read so far. She has been clingy and would just cling on to me the whole nite when she is awake. Makes wimpers and lies on my chest, want me to sayang her... then on and off she shows me that her gums are uncomfortable by using her tongue to press on them. Whimper whimper whimper, i cant do anything until she sleeps.. but she looks pathetic when she does that..

It looks like u are feeding ur bb every other hour... then u must b v busy...
mine goes like this.
9am, 1pm and 5pm 1 similac scope of rice boil into porridge with mince meat n sweet corn to taste. with only one side as follows spinach, broccoli, sweet potato, potato, pumpkin.
Between each feed she will latch on (drink only 30-60ml) to zzz. and drink about 150-180ml at 8pm and wakes up at 3am and 6am to latch on. That's all.

hey daph! thanks for asking. yes still having snot n vomitting. wanted to bring to DK but not able to get ad hoc leave la... already kena eyeballed by my manager le... sigh...
last night was horrible ! she woke up every hr... crying.. becos of her dripping(one side) and blocked(other side) nose... so jialat... plus plus plus! her blardy nappy rash is back!
wahlao. so sian. bo pian i brought her to the tap and ran cold tap water... sigh... then after that she didnt want to slp.. wanted to play... so hb brought her to the play yard n played with her at 4am!!!
we both cldnt sleep becos of her... ended up both of us took family care leave... no choice la... so darn tired.... i did however bring her to the PD near my plc last evening... gave her some runny nose meds, meds for diarrhea and vomitting...
after the hoo haa, she finally went to slp at 6am -_-" we all knocked out til 1145am... LOL! horrible!
at times like this, i really wish i wasnt working... sigh...

re: vomitting during a cold. That was a big factor in my boy losing weight when he was ill. The mucus dripped down the back of his nose and cos it was thick, it made him gag and hence vomit. What I did was to try and water down his mucus so it becomes thinner and more runny by putting saline up his nose with a syringe, and I do it sevral times a time but namely before his feeds. WAs so glad that it worked. Obviously this also helped unblock his nose, so helped his ear infections.

Sayang for your little girl. U tried some pain relief at bedtime? It will at least give her some relief and sleep for the both of u!

yup yup... applied orajel on her.. I dont apply frequently, only if she wakes up in the middle of the nite. Lucky for me, her teething symptoms usually come for ard 2 to 3 days and would break for about a week. Maybe that's why until now only see the crown of a tooth... she taking her own sweet time teething...hee

areya - erm... u mean flush his nostrils? as in ... struggle struggle tussle fight with baby? baby cry... that kinda thing? if so, wa... very hard... now im putting iliadine drops she already struggle... last time round when she was few mths, i brought to PD and she flushed for me but very torturous sight! plus very poor thing leh... sigh... now tryin to dig out the hard mucus in her nose she already cry n fight...

Y dun you dig out the mucus when she's asleep? That's what I always do. No struggle at all. But sometimes may wake my boy up in the process. I use cotton stick + a plastic 'pincer' ...not sure how to explain this 'pincer' but should be able to get from kiddy palace.. This two combi works well for me..I use cotton stick to gently rotate inside the nostril to loosen the hard mucus. Once loosen, i use the pincer to pull it out.
I wish i can flush but personally I dun like water in my nose so din dare to try on my boy.
