Piggysg,ya u can try dragonbee's method. must let ur bb drink more water oh..jia you! my boy also like tofu..started to feed him tofu when he is 6.5mths..piggysg, would like to ask abt the baby yogurt. i would like to give my boy to try. but u serve it cold to ur boy or? pls advise...
also abt the childcare, is it really so fast fully book? i also intend to send my boy there when he is 18mths! oh my..gotta fast fast check out my nearby childcare!

er my PD say kiwi and soy beans can only give after 9 months, including egg yolk and strawberry after 9 mths, so i'm delaying the tofu first....
yogurt, i take out from fridge then serve, hehee poor boy's face all screwy coz i think its sour

Dunno why I am still having reservations abt tofu after reading what i read in web and here..hmm..think i follow my stubborn instinct and based on starflower's PD advise.
Piggysg, i can't find yogurt for babies in shanghai. Tot of making my own yogurt since yogurt makers are so cheap here.
Water: I haven't give my boy any water in between meals. If he is thirsty, he will be BF. Bought the doiby cup/sippy cup but haven't teach him how to use it. Should start...at least he wouldn't be so dependent on my BM.

heehee. my boy tried shitake mushroom already a few weeks back. it was actually in the mushroom soup that my friend made.

tat's the best move...
currently i'm giving my boi cereal w BM and when i switch to cereal w FM, he rejected (gradually mix the BM w FM, he still able to know the difference...)
starting fr last wk, my mum started giving him porridge, he kind of rejecting it... mouth doesn't open type when feedin him, not like cereal w BM, he'll auto open his mouth and in less than 5 mins he finished his 5 tbsp cereal...
now slowly slowly force him to eat and hope he's able to accept the taste b4 adding other stuffs into his porridge...

jo's mummy, i let my boy try egg yolk.. from half boiled egg.. i heard a lot of people say egg yolk is good for brain.. i gave him a bit oni..i tried giving my boy bb cereal mixed with bm but maybe too cold liao.. so he doesn't really like it.. my boy has this bad habit of liking tings hot... very bad habit..

Piggy.. he is 8months old. Born March 09. but i think he is on the small side. got a fren's baby who is 2 weeks younger but 30% bigger than him =(

Dragonbee, really ? how old is your boy learn to hold & drink fm the cup? Mine 8mth + is it too late or early to learn ? He likes to drink barley with 'dong gua liao'

something to share which i feel is so super ridiculous but i did it anyway.
I've enrolled my boy for kindergarten. he will start school in pre-nursery in jan 2012.
what is even more ridiculous is my first and second choice kindergarten location/time slot has a super long wait list.

I attended the weaning talk given by cck polytechnic. The nurse speaker said that we should introduce the egg yolk by 9 mths and the egg white before 15 mths. This is cos at 15 mths, our babies gonna take the jab which has egg components in it. So we shld try test if they are allergic to eggs b4 that. Yah, make sure the eggs are totally cooked.

donroxx - hahaha not ridiculous la... im olredi looking at primary schools... HA HA HA!!! =P for nursery... im going to send her at 18mths... next week goin to view the place... heard has long waiting list so have to act fast la.. no choice... then once she is in probably can be there all the way til she goes to primary school...
donroxx, though i maybe 'paranoid' but do agree that its nutritional value is too good to ignore. I already scheduled him for tofu session in Dec when he's 9.5mths old. I already planned his new food intro schedule till end Dec..hahaha..Can't wait to mix it with his fav fruit - avocado.

Hi Piggysg! My boy also has eczema but now under control cos brought him to a doc who gave him some special tea leaves which we boil with water to bathe him in. Dun really need to use steriod cream.
Regarding Education :
Any mummies send their LO to JGabriel? Is it good? Wld luv to hear comments before I go and check them out.
Regarding formula milk:
I urgently need input on what brands our mummies are feeding our LOs. We have friends coming over to china and would want to get them to bring some formula milk over to try. I think there are formula milk with DHA or AHA or something like that..supposingly good for brain development if i remember correctly. Appreciate your advice/comments.

misscandy... *shake hand*. i started looking at primary schools 2 months back. that is my biggest headache cos no schools near where my future home satisfy my criteria. moving house is not possible, buying private also not possible. really dread the idea of my boy going to schools that i know is not good (i shall not mention which in case offend people la)
suddenly feel irritated with my MIL. if only she put her son into a "nicer" primary sch, then less headache for my boy. *grumble grumble*

I found organic baby yogurt called yobaby for babies above 6 months. there is even yogurt drink. its very ex. i found the yogurt at cold storage jelita.

donroxx - ahahahaha! hw abt ur own alumini? im nt sending to my own alumini because cant stand the school.. and the fakers... posers! bah! luckily the schs near my area nt too bad.. am eyeing 2 of them.... 1 is still quite new... which will be my 1st choice.. 2nd one is more stressful but very hard to get it... a lot of pple apply...

actually if u keen to try the milks, u cn always go to their webs to request for samples.. they will send u the small tins.. 400g... mamil is frm dumex.. they sent me sample... then promil is get frm some talk i attended... then nan is frm our baby bash... plus nestle wil also send to u sample... then similac u get frm abbott... friso im nt sure.. u prolly have to call them as well...
misscandy.. not keen to send my boy to my hubby's alumni and my alumni does not accept boys unfortunately. i've shortlisted a few schools which seem not too difficult to get in. they usually have space in phase 2b and 2c. jia you jia you! may our kids go to schools we shortlist.

friso just sent me their free sample. 1 full big tin. just join their facebook and ask. just that wait quite long woah. more than 1 month
enfalac is weird. send me 2 mails saying they included sample but when i look inside the envelope, nothing. then suddenly one day they send over a 400g tin.
mamil and similac havent receive their sample. maybe on the way heehee.

I send my gal during her 6th mth check up, if I m not wrong tos who take @6th mth ve to take total of 4 jabs, after 1 year old is 1 or 2 jab only and ve to take before a certain age ( like 9yrs old) if I didn't recall wrongly la

hmm... kirsten got it at my old wrkplc, i paid 100+ per jab .. anyway, left 1 more to go when she turns 1... by then can claim liao... *phew* the past 3 cant be claimed. so sian! cost me ard 400-500 for those 3... still heartpain la.. sigh..
