The bill is available on the parliament webby. First reading was in Sep and the bill's effective date is set as 31 Oct so likely to be passed during the next parliamentary sitting. You go show your HR lor.

Actually the weird thing is i have been taking sweet things it is part of me. i eat chocolate, cakes and ice cream bt some how dont know for what weird reason baby just doesnt get the weight! weird!

Actually nt really excited leh.. me just feeling v tired cause like what Bear say i got to rush here and there.. v sian. with big tummy really hard to move now. tired easily.
Ya spend more time with your first one she is scare to lose you. is always like that. i use to hug my mom's feet and make her drag me along when she was pregnant cause i knw she dont want me anymore. cause she got mei mei already. haha..so make sure your first kid is nt going to lose you.anyway for you sec kid will come out early it is the norm.
 
Those whose HR is attempting to pull as fast one on them can also go to the parliamentary webby, see the bill's first reading and show to their HR. Newspapers they can say its only "encouraged" but for the bill, its all stated clearly. But don't print ok. Save the trees... its 70+ pages.

Some HR pple abit slow in realising these things de. Coz it does not really affect them. Like for me, official circular out liao, my dept's HR still can tell me I only have 3 mths coz she was told effective 1 Jan and she can't do anything if the system allow only 3 mths. Few days later she email me back to say i official that I can have 4 months liao. Not that she want to cheat me or anything, just that the info went down the chain abit too slowly.

i was surprised my HR so nice give us full 6 days this year...so i still have 4 more days. I am applying for next Friday and end of following week.. i juz hope my bb will stay put and be out after 38.5 weeks...coz i still wanna attend a parent support group from Shichida on 30th Oct... i will be 38th week by then...

yah loh, we must know our rights... my HR director emailed me i must produce what medical cert from gynae for ML.. i was like "huh"? what is that coz my last ML i nvr get such a slip from my gynae and my ex company also nvr ask... so i think we have to be firm with our HR...
 
Bear, re Dr Lim, i think it is the way he handles us ... i guess he is so experienced tt he will not explain too much and hopes tt we will just hv faith in him... maybe he forgot tt we really need assurance and comforts.

I am having a contract job and it just ended. Actually quite sad la cos duringt the period my boss assured me my pregnancy will not affect the company decision on whether to extend my contract or to convert me to a perm staff. Then i really work very hard. Re ML, agreed with Fifi think you all working mum shd get 16 weeks one. Cos it is actually based on EDD and as long as it is after end Oct. Even if before tt as long as after 17 Aug govt encouraged co to give. My friend gave birth towards end Aug also get 16 weeks but her co is stat board i think more pro-family ...

Some companies just want everything to be clear. Like for me, i have to produce my baby's birth cert but I dun have to produce letter to certify EDD coz my company is giving 4 mths ML effective 17th Aug. So whether I deliver early or not oso no problem.

I think they did follow news lah. But big company is like that. Must wait for black and white instructions of how to effect then can. If not, wait for backdate. Lolx.

Hey, my prenatal yoga still left 3 or 4 sessions unused leh. Can change to other yoga classes after birth? too heavy now to flex the body. I'm on hl cos of the painful pelvic pain. But after restricting my movement since last friday, its getting better le, at least now walking not so painful. Thanks for the concern.

Minkybear, maybe you can try sleeping on your left more? This position allow better circulation of blood and should aid bb to absorb nutrients better.

Today went for my check-up at 35 weeks, left placenta blood flow is fine now (HURRAY!!) and so glad to hear that baby is growing well...2.38kg, still a petite boy roughly 200g below average as per the doctor. Anyway, estimated weight upon delivery will be less than 3kg.

Next visit will be weekly basis, i wonder who will pop next?

For those who are popping, hang in there! = P

me nursing a cold today..sniff!! went for appt today.. happy that baby has gained considerable amt of weight and is now 2.2kg at 34weeks+. She was only 1.6kg at last appt.

my princess is like ur prince, always shy away and only show side view hiding behind her arms. hubby tried to pacify and talk to her since few days ago to show us her chubby face today but she still only show us part of her face.haha.

i kena a "scolding" from dr chan today. coz i suddenly gained slightly more than 2 kg in 3 weeks. so i fessed that i have been taking more milk. kena scolding coz he already told he before to take soy milk coz normal milk (even organic) not good, full of fats. i promised him i will switch to soy milk. before coming home hubby went to get a packet of soy milk and came home to dump my current pack of whole milk. =P

silly me asked gynae if baby head is down already and he told me her head has been down since long time ago already!hahaah..so he joked that we have been talking to her bum not her face!hahah..
 
Auggybear> Happy for you that bb is gaining wt. Coincidentally, I also went to see M Tan today, I went for a detail scan at 11am and later went to see M Tan, were u there ard this time as well? My bb is 3.2kg at 35W4D, doc est. that bb may be 4kg if carry to full term. She also say that may have a risk of getting stuck bc of his size and may have to c-sect.

The raspberry tea i'm drinking is from Moms in mind but some health shops do sell the organic ones in the teabag form, more ex. For coconut water I'm not sure which type of coconut and whether how good is it for baby and pregnant mums like us, but it's recommended to me a few times by different pp, so I just try some occasionally.

i woke up this evening from a nap and found some rash like spots on my belly. its not itchy or painful.thats why i only discovered it when showering. e last 2 times i had it was when it was really hot and i perspired lots. dunno why i kenah again today..will put prickly heat powder tonite before sleeping..

Hmm, maybe you can try 2 control ur diet. Eat more fruits n veg. If bb too big, u will also have a hard time during labour.

I just went to my gynae today. Wk 33 day 1, my boy is around 1.9kg i think i still ok. My gynae didn't say anything

Do you gals breasts feel very sore? Mine is perpetually very sore and heavy, have the engorgement feeling but of course they dun feel hard. Feel very sensitive too.

Ask gynae bout Rasp Tea &amp; was advised to drink fm 36 weeks onwards as it also hasten labour date.

Bb is now 2.5kg at 34wks! Gynae commented bb is absorbing well &amp; hence the weight. Estimated 3.3kg at birth.

I come back from the gynae appt yesterday feeling rather sad.. My gal's head nv turn down and gynae said to prepare for C-Section anytime from 19Oct onwards.. Will be seeing him next friday to confirm the date.. Really felt depressed when I heard I cannot go for natural birth =/ Coz now already 36wks plus liao and BB still head up so chances of her turning down is only 1%, he gave me the jab to mature BB's lungs yesterday too.. looks like I just have to be strong and get over the fact and plan for my C-section le.. haiz~ last night cannot sleep at all..

I have the same case as you when i'm in my 34 wks. BB already engaged and dilated slightly. Doc say will prob deliver within 10 days so i was given 2 jabs over 2 days to mature BB lungs and on anti contraction pills for 2 wks or so. Last check at 36 wks, BB very engaged and dilated 1.5cm but bb only put on 100g over 2 wks. I'll be in my 37 wks coming mon and if by then bb didn't grow much i will be induced. Up till now i don't feel any signs of labour/contractions. Don't worry, just stay in rest and walk less. Relax and i'm sure you will be able to keep the bb in for a couple of wks more. I'm also preparing in my heart that i may kena c-sect bc of the way gynea hinted that bb is too big. I know how u feel, after reading and preparing for natural birth then only be told to c-sect. But i guess we parents will go through anything for our little blessings. I even ask her whether can induce earlier so that bb won't be too big then, she said if i neber dilate induce also won't help, sigh and i thought it was easy. Gynea ask me to repair if natural halfway kena stuck must emerg c-sect, i won't want that, no mental prep and also have to spend a lot of money. Now i'm juz praying that bb will be born b4 38wks.

At least we noe earlier, when i was at the labour ward a few weeks ago, one mum was told on the spot she need to c-sect on the spot, she still blur blur say the doc made a mistake until the doc came and explain to her that the risk for natural birth is too high for her. Then within a few minutes, she was shaved and given epidural and pushed away for c-sect. Can imagine what is gg on in her mind at tt time.
 
Triangle> my bb is also 2.4 kg at 32wks and now at 35W4D, he is 3.2kg. I tried controlling my diet and in fact eating much less but bb is still putting on wt at a fast rate. Now juz hope can give birth earlier so that it won be too tough.

Brocoli is right. Don't get too upset. It will affect the bb. When my mom was pregnant with my sis, the doc also told her that she need c-sec. Haha, but my sis turn just be4 she deliver.

Jenn, I know its disappointing cos you wanted so much to go through natural birth but if this is how your bb choose to come out, there's nothing much we can do. Anyway, we can only do whats best for our little one. Get yourself prepared mentally but in the meantime continue to talk your gal, maybe she may decide to turn. Just like what Bibi says look on the bright side.

Updates on olwen : Hip hip hooray, olwen had sucessfully delivered her triplets yesterday. 2 boys and 1 gal. one of the boy is quite small but i think as long as healthy, size doesnt matter. She can concentrate in fattening him up later. Her gal had to stay in NICU for a day and will be pushed to nursery today. hopefully will get to see their pictures soon. Oh ya, olwen misses you all and say hi to everyone here.
