Mummies
Just came back from checkup and marketing. Currently, on average my gal is 34wk2d and she is weighing 2.53kg. Doc said her weight is normal. Told him that I always have this constant feeling that I would go into early labour but he assured me it wont happen so early. Hope what he said is true.

I also never received any letter from TMC. Asked Dr Adrian for the admission letter and he told me not to worry cos he already booked for me. He said when come to emergency situation, I can still admit without the letter. He auto took my BP today but din take my weight leh.

mousebb, wow.. 2.5ish kg. i'm going in for my checkup this week. i'ld be 35 weeks next thurs.. using your girl's weight as healthy average gauge! haha

diane, i dun think i'ld dare to buy lingerie yet until maybe.. err.. half a year later. i wonder if spending prowess will be limited by maternal guilt.. u know e.g. oh.. i should be saving up this money for bb instead of splurging it on this nice zara flattering bias cut silk skirt.

Hi Mummies!
After my high Bp ordeal on 02 Sep, my gynae admitted me for observation. As my BP continued to rise despite being on medication, Gynae advised to deliver baby via c-sect and My Baby Mikayla arrived on 03 Sep on Wednesday!
Birth weight is 2.45kg and PD said she is doing great. She did not have to go NICU despite arriving at 34 weeks gestation. We're both back home today and she is adjusting well.

Oh I wun be bringing bb along for the bintan trip..my MIL will look after for me..after she comes back from Genting in Dec...so its kinda like an "agreement"...the cost is abt $1200+ for 2 pax for 3D2N..I haven boook though..will do so after I deliver in case there are "unforeseen circumstances"..

Hi ladies - I've been discharged home today! Thanks to mspiggy for posting here and thanks to all for all your prayers and wellwishes. I've to stay in bed still at home till delivery. Beats staying in hospital. Maybe it was the 'going-home' activity, but was real tired and konked out in the afternoon. Or maybe, cos you cant really rest in hosp.

My gynae was very sweet. He only charged me $50 per day for his visits - 50% off his usual hospitalisation charge. Also gave me a kiss on my head to tell me to rest well at home. Really sweet man.

Lilblue - great to hear you are discharged too! Rest well. What medication did yr doc give you? Ventolin or Subutamol? It helps relax your uterus so you dun go into early labour, but causes your heartbeat to race faster lor.

We all have to rest rest rest.

For those with low placenta, my gynae's advice is to rest more and dun walk too much. If spotting, can go se gynae the next day. But if bleed like menses, better go A&E and call your gynae as you never know if the bleed is torrential which could be disastrous.

I learnt alot from the nurses and gynae when in hosp. Like yesterday, the nurses told me a lady with wk 31 gave birth to her bb. BB was sent to NICU, but really strong - can hear the bb's cries super loud. Then another lady gave birth at full term to a huge bb at 3.88kg. But that bb also sent to NICU cos not crying. So it really doesnt matter how big your bb is when born. WHat matters is the maturity and health of your bb. So, let's all jia you!!!

busy bee - congrats! Glad u and bb are doing well. Did you always have high BP or it came on when you got pregnant. This is pre-eclampsia isit? Heard v dangerous and it's gd that your baby is taken out.

nothing like a little holiday with the hubby after 9 months of bloating around like a whale. I'm toying with the idea of going to oz with the family (in laws, bb, the works) when bb is about 6 months. They say babies travel for free up to 2 years of age with SQ plus they have these great baby bibs they give out on flights. heheh..

hahahaha we all miss rolling around in bed and sleeping on our front. yes.. oh i miss my shoes.. they're all inside the cupboard collecting dust, i don't think i've worn anything with a heel since.. *calculates* february. can go for warm/hot spa bath now also right but cannot stay so long inside and you'ld probably need hubby to come get you out of the tub. lol..

She's pressing on my bladder.. she's pressing on my bladder.. she's definitely doing something to my bladder.. eeek. anyone ever sat on the bowl to pee then bb suddenly does a lewis hamilton on your bladder and the pee spurts out involuntarily (into the bowl) lah. my little girl does that, i think she gets a kick out of it.

babies dont fly for free on planes, they still have to pay air fare but cheaper rates, maybe 40% off normal rates? Cant remember how much.
so during take off & landing, someone got to carry the baby. After take off, the stewardess will attached the bassinet and b4 landing remove it.

SQ gives goodie bag for babies which includes diapers, some toys and the sq bib and the meals are those puree jars.

JAL gives toys and biscuits and in flight baby meals.

Must take care, ok & remember to rest in bed! Probably put some biscuits and water next to the bed, so you dont have to walk about to look for food.

Anyway, 1 of my colleague shared wtih me that she also had early contractions and was put on bed rest & medication for about 2mths. And once she stop the medication, she delivered her baby....

i brought my boy to perth when he's abt 8mth plus old.pay for the airport tax only. just prepare a bottle ofwater or milk and standby when plane taking off. just in case bb feel uncomfy abt the air pressure. n if u do notice, thoe with bb, all did the same thing. hehe....my boy too big for the bassinet though we did request for one. so end up he sits in there to play while me n hubby having our meals. when sleep, he just doze off in my arms.

Wow mousebb, ur playmat is very big leh. I dun have such a big space to put the mat. The one I'm looking at is 1850 mm x 2300 mm I think but only 12 mm thick. Wondering if it is thick enuff a not.

Hi Mummies,
Thanks for all your well wishes. My early delivery was due to signs of preemclampsia which could prove dangerous to both mummy and baby. My BP has been leaning towards the high side but not of concern till the last few days before my delivery. So DH and I felt it was a good move to have brought Baby Mikayla early into this world!

She is a real handful and night owl. Could hardly sleep on our first night home from the hospital as DH and I try to help her get comfortable and at the same time worrying about her wellbeing. We hardly slept last night and look like zombies now.

I didn't bring my macbook with me so was out of touch on the latest happenings of oct thread. I hope u are better. Being hooked on ctg was no fun at all. I was on a 4 hourly monitor before I popped. So tiring! I hope u are feeling better now. Which floor were u staying at TMC? I was first on 4th then moved to 5th. I didn't want to be on the 6th floor room although its nice and newly renovated as I wanted to be next to the nursery to be near baby and the room they offered me for 6th was at the end of the corridor. Such a pity we did not get to meet up.

Wow, your princess is sleeping so soundly. Will be a beauty when she grow up.
Usually the first night at home is like that cos bb can also feel there is a change in environment and she also needs some time to adapt to changes. Do look out for the room temperature. She could be feeling too warm or too cold. Hang in there! Anybody helping you with your confinement and to look after her at night?
Last time when we first brought our son home, we also hardly sleep the first night. By the time when bb settled down, it was already like 4-5am le. Would suggest whenever your bb sleeps, you too, try to take a nap also. Having a bb also means we no longer have the luxury to sleep thru the whole night le.
