Re: Toilet train
Not too sure if my girl considered ready or not. I am also lazy to start training her. Leaving this task for my MIL to complete since she is there most of the time. But I know my MIL let my girl go diaper-less for a while after her bath as she will make her pee pee in the toilet. So somehow my girl already knows she can pee in toilet and she will said so when we bathe her. But have not try the potty thing on her. Also, sometimes she will tell us "pee pee" when she is wearing diaper. Then we will tell her it is ok to pee coz got diaper.

Re: Tooth brushing
My girl got bad breath too. I also dun know how to start her on brushing. She saw me brush everyday but just curiously looking at me. Once or twice she took my toothbrush and want to put inside her mouth. Problem is I don't know how to tell her to gargle and spit out... Very scared she swallowed the dirty water and toothpaste.

hi all...

finally got chance to login...ILs not here .. yeah!! finally got my peace but very tiring cos got to handle 2 kids on my own n i m carrying the 3rd one too...

Re: Potty training
I also dunno how to start cos my boy loves to poo during meal times. He will be enjoying his breakfast/lunch/dinner and suddenly squat down to do his business. After that, stand up and continue eating...hahaha! But I noticed he stopped pooing when we're outside. He will only poo when we are home. If we're on holiday, he will poo when we are back at the hotel. It saves me alot of trouble changing him outside these days...heehee.

Re: Toothbrushing
I'm still brushing only during bath time in the morning with First Teeth. Have not started making it a habit in the morning or at night. But if I brush him during his evening bath, the last bottle of milk will still make his teeth/gums dirty so a bit bo liao right...lazy mum...

Shannonbaby,
So far I have not tried bringing my girl to adult toilet outside. I am scared to drop her inside. And always we just let her poo on diaper and just changed her in nursing room...

yvonne
no leh, i brush during the night bath, after that still snacks, drinks
i dont find it bo liao lah. at least clear some plague (if any)

mylvera
gong xi gong xi! like i said again, your this pc of news is better than delivering you #3!! so when will they be back?
got the feeling of doom in your heart everytime your mind starts to think of the time they will be coming back or not? heehee

public toilets
actually some nicely done up toilets got the toilet seat covers. you can 'kapook' a bit, next time bring them out in your diaper bag when bringing your bb out. if die die no choice must use adult toilet, spread on the seat cover lor. i think airport toilets have these seat covers. *all chiong to airport haha*
some have sanitizing liquid to let u wipe the seat first before using
worse come to worse, use wet tissue and wipe before plonking our child

eh some shopping centres got kids cubicles leh

HI mommies

Long time never come in here liao. On and off was reading the backdated posts...wahhhh u all really got VERY good memories lah..i also dont rem i told u all about "those stuffs" hahahaha

Anyway, on current topics:

Brush teeth
We hv it easier cos from day one, we hv been using finger brush to wipe Rylee's gums so she got used to having "something" in her mouth cleansing. Now "upgraded" to kiddy tooth brush but we're STILL using First teeth toothpaste cos safe for her to swallow. I read can only start using normal toothpaste (tat contains flouride) when the child knows how to spit out the toothpaste efficiently with no swallowing at all. It's part of our routine liao. She brushes her teeth 3x a day. Once in the morning, after waking up, brush with me in the bathroom. I bought 2 of those nice Hello Kitty (which she likes) toothbrush cos she likes to grab and do it herself. So i will ask her which one she wants. I'll give her the one she picks (to let her have a feeling of she's in control) and uses the other one to brush for her. I will tell her Mommy brush for u first then u brush urself. She will guaiguai let me brush. Then aft i'm done, i'll tell her to brush herself. And i will proceed to brush my own teeth and she will imitate me with the toothbrush she chose jus now. When i'm done and turn on the tap to rinse my mouth, she would pass the toothbrush to me as well.
happy.gif
The 2nd time is after her bath and before her nap after lunch. And the 3rd time is at night before her bedtime.

Potty/Toilet Training
Nowhere near ready. I'm resigned to cleaning shit until she's ready bah. Haha. But there are times she will tell me "erm erm" but that's AFTER she has done the deed. Better than nothing i guess.

Disney tickets
Someone was asking me if got lobang for day tickets, rite? Forgot who liao. Erm...i know a friend here who can buy discounted annual pass but not sure if can get discount for day entrance. Will check and let u know.

Mylvera
Been reading your saga at home and felt really bad for u. Your in-laws really damn too much leh. They never think u're already very good cos WILLING to stay with them...unlike some daughter-in-laws (like me, for eg) who will die die refuse to stay with in-laws one lo. They jus dunno to treasure u. But pls keep yourself healthy and adopt a bo chup attitude to them. Stress is an invisible health threat. Ur carrying ur precious princess leh. Do take care.

pixie,

no idea. got a feeling they will not come back for long time cos my MIL still complain abt leg pain. now my hb abit panic cos the room that #3 is going to sleep with the CL is not cleared yet and if they are not coming back, how is he going to jagar 2 kids + cleaning? he is asking me to extend my HL cos when i walk abit more (eg, going to market), the ankle that i sprained few mths ago swell n hurts again. but if i extend my HL, i tink my ofc going to kill me. these 2 weeks not in already messy liao. accounts not cleared, statistics duno how to find the file and submit etc etc.

mylife,

they have their house to stay in. they helping us to look aft the kids while we work. but they are messing up lots of things. my hb says that his mother is a bad influence on our kids. #1 is badly influenced by her. now that they not ard, my #1 much easier to manage but bad habits die hard. but but ... we can't be having HL or no work for lifelong mah. we still nid dual income to support 3 kids leh.

mylvera
your hb just got to grit his teeth and get down to look after 2 kids + cleaning while you support the house with income + bearing/carrying #3. i think its really very fair to both of you. 1 jagah house, 1 jagah $$
he quit to settle the family didnt he? he 'signed on' to do this big project, must accept all the shit lor

hire those part time cleaner like me and kitsune. a 1-off time to clear the room, spend $30 to $40.

mylife,

I was the one asking for the disney tixs. Keep me posted. Thanks.

Janbb,
I am interested. Keep me posted.

Yvonne,
My son also likes to poo poo during meal times. Halfway through his meal, he would say "poo poo" then i will confirm with him and he says "YEs". Then i will bring the potty out and he will do his business.

There was once he was outside and he says "Poo poo". I also do not have a pot so ask him to poo in his diaper. And he kept repeating poo poo. I think i must have made him so confused. :p

mylvera
oic...sorry, miscomm there. But still, at least u ENTRUST the kids to them. For me, if i'm in Sg and working, i'd rather send kids to childcare like Kam or find babysitter than to let my in-laws take care cos my FIL is full of nonsense one. As for financial costs, agree it's gonna be taxing to support 3 kids, but i rem once a mom told me, having 1 or 2 kids make a lot of difference, but once u hit 2, having 2 or 3 not much difference. Until of cos when u reach like secondary school or college. Dunno how true is that! But well, dont think about financial, and all that first. Priority now is MUST take care of ur current health. To think of the worst, if u dont take care of urselves and let stress gets to u, what will happen to ur kids IF something happen to u?? Yes, a bit choi choi choi, but i rem reading this line in one of the baby's books when i first gave birth...it said a lot of mommies always say this phrase to prove their love to their child "I love my baby so much i'll do anything and can even die for my baby!"...altho this is very touching but it's not the right mentality....instead of dying for our babies, we shud stay strong, take care of ourselves and LIVE for our babies cos they need us alive, to protect them, to take care of them. When i was in depression, this line kept me going. So pls pls pls take care of urself. Eat well, sleep well and breathe deeply. At this rate, ur at risk of getting into post natal depression by the time ur princess is born...and it's such a bad bad thing to be in....so try to avoid that now.

mylvera, agree with pixie, hire PT cleaner to clean the room and the house for 1 weekend. Won't cost a lot. But some PT cleaners don't like to take adhoc jobs so must check first lor.

blessedbaby, I have not potty train RaeAnne yet so can't help. But in the malls that I frequent (Tampines Mall and Century Square), they have kids toilets. If don't have, I think I'll hold onto her and let her poo poo bah. Anyway, my diaper bag always has wet wipes so cleaning the toilet seat is no problem.

tongtong,
Where do you stay? If we don't have plan this Sunday, you wanna come to my place for Shaun to play with Hao Re?

Jess,
Hehe, thanks. So supportive of you :)

Tongtong,
You ask if your hubby is keen. And I ask my hubby if we will go anywhere. Then we see how it goes lah, k!

Kitsune: you really miss me ah? ;-) I am not the one asking about toilet seat outside but shannonbaby is. ;-)
Anyway, I not yet potty trained my girl yet. Initial plan was to train her when she is 18 months old. But one of my friends said that the best is when they are 2, otherwise it's a painful process. I read some books on potty training, and they do suggest not to urge it coz when out kids are not ready, it's gonna hard for both.

Kam: if you want to potty training HR, you can start buying training pants and let him wear it. The purpose of training pants is to let our kids knows when he/she pee pees and knows it's wet and tells us. When you first train him, training pant will help you to know when to bring him to seat on toilet seat and does his big or small business there. ;-)

Tooth brushing: I am one of lazy mummies. ;-) Only brush Johanna' tooth in the morning. She will ask for it if I dont give her toothbrush. Anyway, I just bought some Earth's Best Toothpaste, it's also safe to swallow too.
If anyone has lobang to buy First Teeth Toothpaste can add me please. ;-) I wanna to try since so many mummies are buying it. ;-)

Gracekids: I brought Johanna for trial class before. It's awful. I cant believe that they use discotheque lights and music and let kids and parents running around like crazy. It started like everybody having fun but toward the end, I think it's a bit silly. Just my personal opinion. Mummies should still go ahead and share your experience with us here too. ;-)

hehe, blessedbaby, I must have scanned through the thread too fast. Only remember the nick had 'baby' so thought it was you. As I was typing, I was thinking, thought Australia toilets should be quite clean and child friendly. ;)

hehe, i'm one of those mummies tat goes to grace kids.

actually grace kids has 3 programs

1) busy buddies - 1.5hr playschool type program. sing song, do craft, read story, outdoor play, snack time etc

2) rhythm in me - music program focusing on rhythm and movement. lots of singing with live piano and drum accompaniment, dancing/swinging/twirling with pop music and disco lights, music instruments like drums/tambourines etc. every wk focus on a different instrument and they teach the kids to play loud/soft/up/down/left/right/fast/slow

3) mygym - gym program focusing on physical strength and balance. basically a huge playground with swinging on trapeeze or rings, walking on balance beams, tumbling like forward roll/backward roll/headstand...

the one janBB is organising trial for is busy buddies, the one blessedbaby was talking about is rhythm in me.

my girl goes for rhythm in me and mygym
happy.gif

Hahahha grumpus. ;-) Thanks for your clarification. ;-) I don't like their set up though. ;-) So I don't really remember which program I brought my girl too. Do you find that the teacher their are not those baby-liking? ;-) I don't think they are well-trained. ;-)

mandy,
i've been sending my girl there for about 3 months now? she loves mygym cos she's very active...downside is now she climbs up my house gate and hangs on the bar of the supermarket trolley :p

blessedbaby,
hmmm, did u go for the trial while they were at UE square or after they move to great world?
the teachers now are ok but i know what u mean abt not very well trained if u compare to more established programs like julia gabriel.
for me i find it ok cos rhythm in me is conducted by the boss of grace kids and an assistant teacher and mygym teachers are better trained cos it's from a US franchise.

Cheryl and Mandy,

Sure! You are welcome to join us, if you don't mind to squeeze at my humble home. Haven't fixed a time yet though, maybe after lunch? Having said that, forgot to ask my hubby yesterday, but most likely ok, cos too challenging for me to go out now with my big tummy (have to run to toilets at least every hour :))

The Rhythm in Me sounds fun leh. Anyone else interested in this? Any trial class for this? If next weekend I can still make it.

Mandy
have checked with my friend. Yes she can also get 10% discounted day tickets for Disneyland. Have to tell her in advance and her cousin (who works for Disney office during weekdays). Tickets bought have a 6mth expiry but valid for one day only. U can tell me in advance and I get for u...but u will hv to get from me when u come HK lah. It's easy cos I stay above the MTR line that's on the way to Disneyland anyway.

For mommies planning any trip to HK and would like to go Disneyland, this offer extends to u too
happy.gif
happy planning!

Kam,
janbb is organising a private trial class that's why she needs a min no. of kids.
but u can always just join the class on trial at any time. cost abt $40 i think, not sure u hv to check.
but if u do bring HR for rhythm and me make sure yr hubby go also cos it's a workout for the mummies too!!

Grumpus,
Thanks. Thought JanBB is organising for the Busybuddies, not Rhythm and Me? I only wants music and movement type, I don't want any sit-down kind of classes.

Kam,
yes janbb is organsing for busy buddies. but it's the same mah, there are classes on going every wk so u can just join in any class as trial. whether it's rhythm and me, busy buddies or gym u choose lor...

grumpus: I went to Great world city. And Grace was the one who conducted the class with one of her male assistant. I find it messy and they install too many mirrors in the room. And the class has no structured programs i think.

luca,

You can try Kiddy Palace.
happy.gif

mylife,

Thanks alot. Once i confirm my travel dates and tixs bought, will inform you. Do u know how is the situation in Taiwan now?? Hubby planning to go to Taiwan b4 popping to HK. It seemed pretty bad with the typhoons and floods.

kam,
the rythmn and me seems fun. mi interested in the trial too.

janbb,
Maybe we can have the trial for the rythmn and me instead.

luca,
haha, ya nowadays quite bz. work on mondays, and class on tues and weds. by the time i come online, topic all old topic liao so never post much lor.

blessedbaby,
haha, ya actually the class can be quite messy. but now there is somewhat of a structure that they follow every wk lah..
the room is actually a typical dance studio setup with mirrors all on one side. the first lesson i also tot it was a bit messy, but my girl loves to play with the instruments and chase the disco lights around the floor so we continue lor...

mandy,
rhythm and me is very different from busy buddies. depends on what u're looking for. if u want like playschool type of program then it's busy buddies, but honestly i think julia gabriel and GUG are much better in that aspect.

if you want something more fun and unstructured then it's rhythm and me or mygym.

Kam,
Think there's no class this 2 weeks. New term starts on 29 aug (sat). Not sure is the same for the rythmn & me.

Mandy,
I prefer to try the busy buddies & thinking to try julia gabriel if they got trial and make comparision of both then decide which one to sign up. My boy is too active, i need to FORCE him to attend these sit-down basis class to learn something...heehee ;)

U decide which one u prefer ba. Anyway, we only got 4 pax now. If can't get a private slot, i will juz attend the morning trial class.

Re: Potty Training
My boy will say "hmm hmm" & get ready to sit on the potty when he got the urge, haha. See the pix, funny isn't it ;)
