re: flashcards
those mommies attend SM/LNT or doing flashcards, how many times should you practice with your todds at home?
i just completed 3 sets (animals/fruits/body parts) and wondered how i should start. any tips?

Weishy: Thks for the link. Too expensive. Think might hv to switch to something cheaper. Times are bad, haha and I can't find a website that sells at the cheap prices when I bought in bulk last time cos they started controlling the retail prices. We were looking at Matt's feet last night. So fair and smooth... haha, fairer and smoother than my hand. The effect of winter and wearing socks all the time. Too bad he not girl haha...

Tinkabel, mabbe u wanna try Mustela? Think their items not bad, Claire is using their diaper cream. Price wise on par with California baby i think. And sometimes Mustela got discount.

On baby feet, Claire s definitely not fair as Matt but smooth skin! Hehe, i also like to nibble on her feet and she will burst out in laughter!

Btw, any gals here dun like to wear socks & Shoes? Sometimes Claire make me paiseh by removing her shoes & socks in the middle of the shopping mall!

K@ye/Kittybride: Ya I bit his toes yest and he kept giggling. Yest, removed his socks for a while. He kept playing with his toes. Poor boy, have been wearing socks since Nov, so prob forgot how his feet and toes look. Haha... Finally, there is a gentle breeze of Spring coming. Getting warmer.

Cindy: ya, so jealous of the double eyelids. Hers so obvious since so young. I wait for Matt's ones to come out until my neck very long. Pple still give me hope, that might come out at 2-3 years old also. But I think very little chance. So sad...

C is using size 4 now and i also let her use the other type where there are 3 different flow (I,II,III) when you twist the teat to that direction - mean for milk+cereal mixture.

u can check the teat packaging, they have indication which level for which month old babies.

maybe Claire treat the shopping mall as her own 'home' - free to roam!!! ahahaa...
so far my gal enjoys walking but once she started, she doesn't wana to be carried liao. but u know lah, shopping mall very crowded one and her eye-sight level only up to ppl's knee, sure will have 'accidents' coz she anyhow roam about!
 
k@ye: Aiyo, u know my hubby and his bro, both all single eyelids. Inherited from my MIL lor. Then my parents and his dad all double eyelids also no power to fight haha... So sad. But Matt inherited my MIL's lips too. the top of the lips is pointed. Quite nice...
 
Tinkabel: My E also single eyelids, only abt 2 days per wk the double eyelids appear. My HB & i both double, dunno why his is not. Nvr mind lah...Was looking at yr blog the other day, HB saw Matt's pic and said he handsome boy, so it's ok to be single eyelid:)
 
Kitty, Claire also likes to roam abt... but once she gets tired.. she will indicate for us to be carried or sit in her stroller.

Tinkabel, i second Cactus opinion... Matt is handsome!

My relatives in HK saw Claire and said she is a mini replica of me... The best part is they commented that she got all the not so nice features from my hubby & me! Faints!
 
Girls: Thks for ur compliments for Matt... Me not complaining la, although I do wish he has inherited my double eyelids.

zzz: We use the variable teats for Matt. i think the #4 is too slow for him already. Only use that if he drinks water.
 
tinkebel, take comfort my double eyelids appeared when I was in pri sch - one day I suddenly felt my eyes feeling funny next thing I know its becos the lids folded into 2! ha ha ha . My gal is super single eyelid even smaller than Matt's, she has mee mee eyes lor!

but i made flash card already, but looks he not really enjoy it.
every time he want to sleep, he always asked one from us to read stories which i road it for him when he was a baby

me also tinking of switching Kiros from avent teat 4 to variable. you using |||?

kiros is ok with teat 4 but he hasnt been finishing his milk and am wondering if the teat flow is too slow hence he suckle till tired and end up not finishing. As for water, he is using the mag mag cup (straw) to drink. he can drink more this way vs using bottle.
 
Pig07, actually teat 4 can be used liao. i also think teat 4 is too slow for their age :p

jerkatik, no le...not yet. aft my son's P1 reg in June/july then i will commit. so by May i will look ard liao.

tinkabel,boys single eyelid still alright...forme i also sianz...i hv a pair of 'ready-made'double eyelids..but M chose to take aft her daddy's signture single eyelid..hv to waste money to get double eyelids...
nt that single eyelid is nt nice..but will be nicer if she has la..sob sob....

pig07: Ya, actually we been using variable for since Matt was 6 mths, cos that replaced the #3 teats. But started with I, then moved him to II. He's been using III for a number of mths now. #4 seems too slow for him. Hopefully by the time III is too slow for him, he can drink from a cup. He's still not very gd drinking from a straw. End up all wet and my mum doesnt let him try much cos it's cold here and she doesnt want him to catch a cold. Sigh...

MM: So have u done ur test yet? What's the results? Excited for u...
 
And I thot #4 is the fastest.. but suit my gal cos she can drink in record time using #4. Also plan to transit to cup when she is more steady.. no hurry yet.

u so on.. me still in the process in getting all the flashcards ready. But me gonna incorporate GD's method, so flash 3 times a day shld be suffice.
 
Lazykat: I think III variable is faster than #4. Cos we tried letting Matt taking his cereal with milk #4, he sucked until cows come home. So now when we hv to give milk with cereal, we have to use III.

Flash 3 times? I thought GD is 6 times, with 3 sets of cards? I do the maths and chinese too, so I do less english words. Matt seems to be more amused with the chinese characters... Me need to move on to the additions, lazy mummy, been too slack to plan out the additions to flash.
 
Kat: I don't know whether cherie hearts have playgroup or not cos i have not yet to check with them.

zzz: I am using Avent 4 for my son.

I changed to Variable teat coz its flexible, can use for milk, water or cereals. Or rather more like i m lazy... :p I also used teats 4 too.. Since Claire is ok with both, of course i used the variable one!

maybe most of ur tods can already do this but it's definitely a big leap for Jovan. over the weekend, J can point/show & tell u parts of his body - nose, mouth, tongue, eyes & ears. the most funny one is "eyes". when u ask him "where r ur eyes?" he'll blink his eyes & smile/laugh, then say "eyes".

Cat, ya good for u. Matt only knows where his head, hands and feet are. I try to teach him to point to nose, then he put finger into his nostril, so I thought better dun teach this one 1st, else become bad habit then cham. haha...
