hi mummies,

Yesterday work OT till 8plus. Oni reached home by 9pm. I was really beat tired. Called my mil on the way home to check on Jav. Was told tat Jav haven gone to bed yet as he still waiting for his mummy to come home. My mil said tat Jav jumping wif excitement whenever he heard footsteps n door opening coming from my neigbours hse. Guess he must be tinking tats was mi returning home from work. At that veri moment, how i wish for a teleporter so tat i can be teleported home immediately. I miss my boi, my precious..
When I reached home, Jav was playing in his playpen. The moment his eyes set on mi, he was like jumping wif joy n stretching his hands out. He wanna mi to carry him. When i carried him in my arms, he start slapping my chest wif his hands. Even thou he still dunno how to talk yet, I can feel tat he was trying to tell mi "mummy, mummy, why do u come home so late? i m waiting for you to come home and play wif mi. i miss u so much."
Later that nite around 10, I was trying to mi him zzz.. He was crawling around his mattress while i was having a chat wif hub. I heard him call "ma ma". I was flabbergasted. He was looking @ mi when he call "ma ma" again. I almost screamed @ my hub "Did u heard tat? Jav is looking @ mi and calling mi, ma ma". I carried Jav on my arms and hug him tight tight.. Kissing him on his mouth (his fav game). He used to cried out "ah mi" whenever he wanna mi to bao bao him. Or he would go "errrrhh..." when he in happy mood.
"ma ma" is his 1st actual word.. i m elated and honoured.

i can't rem but i tink e feeding prob lasted a 3-4 wks ba. it stopped when i decided 2 just let it be. act i read fr bks tt bbs intuitively noe how much food is enof 4 them n they wont' starve lah. but i tink nt eating enof at some pt o time makes them grouchy lor. so i was v v scared 2 let go n let her decide how much she wanna eat. i felt she had started 2 assoc feeding w sthg dreadful which is a def NO NO 4 me. cos i feel cultivating gd eating habits n love 4 food is e most impt, as long as bb is nt undergoing failure 2 thrive.
i haf a few diff food n extra milk on standby in case she rejects e one i prepared...
once she rejected, i'd try a couple o times more. if still reject, i'd wrap up. no frowns, so forcing... i'd say 'it's ok. mama won't force ok'. 1st time, she was q stunned n stared at me, speechless. hahahahaa... after a few times, she began 2 fuss less n guess started 2 enjoy eating again. or maybe her tooth finally grew out.
u try lar, anyway, it shldn't get worse than now... hehehe..

Hi Bloom/Lil/hwee,
Yes, pls use pasteurised milk to make the yoghurt. Remb to warm the milk a bit .. I din use thermometer lah. If you dun like to be too sour, leave it to set for about 4 hours will do. The longer you leave it to set will be more sour. The first batch I made, I leave it for about 7 hours, to me it not as sour as those selling in supermarket but Hayley doesnt like it too much. Guess I will improve again on my next batch. So end up I am the one eating my 1st home made yoghurt. Just use a spoon to scoop required amt out from the container will do. Try it with some fruit jam for yourself, very yummy and convenient.

Hi Afcai,
Rendang is in Malaysia however this time I am travelling by coach and then ferry. The journey will takes about 10 hrs. So got to pump on the bus using nursing cover and lucky my friend also still BF mommy. So I can share her pump which is very silent not like mine (medela mini e) so noisy.Looks like I will be dumping away the milk away as there is no way I can store the milk along the journey and during the trip.Haiz.. this is my 2nd time wasting the ebm away.. the 1st time is during my Tokyo trip.

Yes, Hayley sleeps same room as us but she sleep in her own cot. These few night, she woke up to ask to sleep with us on our bed lor.

we only place tx on our bed when she woke up early in the morning after her first feed. then will surround the pillow ard while I went for my pump (usual will set alarm clock later than wkday pump).

will hayley roll and flip when on the bed? tx will roll and roll , flip n flip till she is tired then doze off.

for me, i tried reducing to 3 pumps a day ocassionally last mth.. den aft awhile, period report liao... u want to give och's made some FBM if u hav too much? made's wound recover faster if she drinks BM..

i share the same worries with u.. sometimes i dun dare to make yoghurt myself.. coz really worried tt if i'm not aseptic enough, i may be introducing other bacteria in to ferment the milk.. den i will be scooping mouthful of dunnoe wat bacteria into my mouth... can't imagine..

My Hayley still on total bm and I pump 4 times a day. Planning die die must stop bf once she reachs 1 yr old. Whenever I feel like stopping, I also very 'bu she de' just like you, maybe i addicted to pumping lol. My current supply although also drop slightly, still sufficient for her 1 day feed. But I unable to store any excess to freeze.

yes, she roll and crawls / flip.. so very dangerous if we leave her on our bed although we surround with many pillows Unless we around. Last night, she woke again at 2.30am, keep making awful noise to distrub our sleep. Cant tahan her..my hubby got to carry her over our bed (bet. us) while we ignored her and continue to sleep. SHe is getting a little terror. While I pumping now, she still asleep.
* Btw, my friend is using Medela Swing - very slient pump.

Later gtg to bring her along, for our jap buffet lunch with my friend. Hope we get to enjoy the feast.

keke.. ya i m floating in e air.. hub no jealous. he always know jav has better bonding wif mi. hub is the strict daddy while i m the good natured mummy.
jav been co-sleep wif mi eversince he no longer sleep in yaolan. But i m training him to sleep on his own on the floor with the mattress. Sometimes when he wakes up in the nite, i have to co-sleep wif him so tat he will continue to zzz..

i went to Waruku in Marina Sq once bringing jav along. My friends book the private room. The room has those jap-syle dinning where one have to sit on the floor. If our bbs sit on the baby chair, they will b higher than us.
plus i find the food so-so & quite exp...
i remebered tat time my Jav keep smiling @ the waitress attending to us. Tat waitress even gave a small toy to Jav. My friends were teasing tat Jav so young know how to "sian1" girls already.

dora, kate's bottom 2 teeth is not fully out yet and now she is having fever and always using her tongue to touch her upper gum so i assume she is teething too! soemtimes little drizzle i also die die bring JT out..i got the 'raincoat' for the stroller so if it rains heavily she will be drier than me! (but my pl is near mrt, unlike urs so quite convenient for me to bring stroller out)

Lil, gan, actualy i wonder..scarly we din know but do homemade yogurt wrongly then no active culture inside (which is waht we want right?) anyway to know if we manage to retain the active culture in our next batch???

today try out porridge on thermal pot for kate..end up put too little water inside... luckily i open up in 1 hr and check then add boil water hehehee... but lie to hb said its a success! but kate zzz liao without eating so duno how will the porridge look like after 5-6 hours... will feedback again

afcai, heard from my nanny nowadays moe change the textbook after 2 yrs...rem backup hdd dont use for other things hor..i lend to my vendor to copy her stuff end up she accidentally del my files..luckily the original still at home! u mean tx really eat on the dot? for kate, she crazy crazy change timing one....and she refuse to eat if she is not hungry, so i canot have a schedule like u.... or is there a way to 'train' her?

tx also drool a lot recently(some more, like to create blow bubble sound and play with saliva till all over her mouth) and her 2 teeth only show a bit. she kept on using her tongue to touch her gum.

today, hubby and I took her to coffeeshop to makan. the 15 mins walk fr coffeeshop to my hse, she kept on utter words (like singing....) and mom mom. so hubby told tx not to call mom mom but pa pa. hubby repeat a few times and tx repeat after him and then back to call momo mom again. haa..so funny. tx also like to play peek a poo and she will giggle loud.

with regard to the thermal pot, can it keep warm? how long do u cook the porriage? usually, I cook the porriage using slow cooker for 2hrs, then off the switch cos my small slow cooker dun have temp ctrl to keep warm.


huh, jialat, why moe want to change textbook, ai-yo, like that cannot reuse liao. unlike last time, my brother and I are 4 yr apart, I will hand down my textbook to him.

yup, my mum fixed the feeding timing and slp routine so like 'robot' (oops...), she will eat on the dot. even poo timing also fixed, poo twice per day. so funny...fixed timing to poo. for me, I dun fix her feeding timing. depending on what time is her first feed then after that 4-4.5hr then give her the next feed(sometimes, 5hr). on her
second feed, she will be hungry and finish veri fast. my mum always told me tx dun like cereal, i told her who say. I told her now tx big liao, cannot fixed timing to 3hr, told her that first feed and second feed quite close - only 3hrs, of cos tx dun seem hungry and dun assume that she dun like cereal loh. but she still turn to deaf ear. pissed *&*(^*.
but hor, tx still eat slowly and acc to my mum, she said, tx only left some leftover cereal only.
what to do, tell her so many times dun need to feed her so early at 8am liao, she still......(*&(*&^(*^

haa..then delay Kate' s feeding timing, see if she is hungry, she eat or not loh.
err.. one of the day, must let tx meet kate. tx depend on mood one, if see the person 's face, dun like she will cry. so funny, on fri night when hubby and I brought her back from my mum'plc. my neighbour (muslim) came back dressing so nice and the uncle say hello to tx, the moment when tx see him, she broke into tears. haa...

today, I went to meet a mummy to pass her something at my area and brought tx along. tx even smile at the lady. haa.. when the mummy say see u and bye bye, tx wave (bye bye action) to her. so funny again.

do Kate wear hat when gg out? or kate wear sock to sleep or when she is brought back fr nanny's hse?

afcai, to answer ur Q : (1) i only put on socks for her when i feel tat she will get cold (so breakfast and lunch outing usually is without socks) (2) kate hates cap and will take it off, so i usually dont unless its really cold (3) yes, but only for yi4 shi4. dont wait till she makes burping sound. By right, no need to burp after they learn how to sit up hahaha...so tx's first word is mama too!

yes i cook abt 2 pax share, and the porridge is still warm after 7 hours. i think tx 'lacks' the 'training' from SCN so she is not used to strangers... ahahahh ... now with porridge abit better, but with brown /white rice cereal must cook before she gets hungry cos she yells and cries very loud the moment she is hungry and there is no food! me lazy mommy, let kate wear those long pants without holes (so cover the legs) when i bring her to nanny's pl .ahhahahahahaha... nanny will change her to something else when she is there. cos kate always shake her legs and drop her socks...

Yesterday brought kate out to have lunch with ILs. Kate was hungry when we are about to leave restaurant. Then guess what FIL say? Said wait till we reach home (45 min away!) then feed her. I think alot of children will die if men are the main caregiver!

Mummies, have been busy last week. Today on MC, been having migraine with nausea

Been feeling troubled too, back pain is not improving, the pain radiating down to my butt and leg also becoming more frequent. I have been asked not to carry Evee but quite difficult to avoid.Physiotherapist suggest me going for MRI to see exactly what is wrong as my back is no responding to treatment after 7 sessions. Hiaz going to spend lotsa $$ again, MRI cheapest i can find is about $700 and this amount is not claimable

think i will go for it as i do want to know exactly what's wrong now have to pray it is not something serious...sob sob...felt very moody hope won't go into depression man, health not good and work sucks...when mood not good also affect atmosphere at home..chain reaction.

Me stopping BF very soon also, cutting down to 2 pumps and started Evee on Similac over the weekend..targetting to stop totally by end of this month. Think BF has really taken a toil on my health

Afcai, my reply to your 3 questions.
1)Evee doesn't wear socks except going to air conditioned places
2)She doesn't wear cap or hat unless going to be in the sun.
3)dun have to burp anymore once they can sit upright.

How does Meg like her porridge? So far JT only tried once when I used a small pot to cook for her, but cos its the 1st time I cooked porridge over the fire, its a bit burnt. She didn't like it leh, dunno because if its burnt or she doesn't like porridge....

Actually my place also not that far from MRT, 10min walk, just tat no shelter all the way. I also have the rain cover for stroller. But JT is hubby's precious.. if he knows that I bring her out despite raining, sure got WWIII at home one...

Good tat Evee takes similac well. JT can't even take Nan HA... haiz.... She has been taking Isomil with her cereals and she's ok with tat. That day I tried giving her isomil to drink, she totally refused... guess I'm stuck with bf... no choice...
It must be tough taking care of 2 + bf... you must take good care.... since evee takes similac well, then you can wean her off bf and then take good care of yourself....

1)Socks: I only let JT wear socks if its very cold or she wear nice clothes + shoes. If it's downstairs/ntuc, then I won't bother lor...

2)I only let JT wear hat if its very sunny. She sweats a lot so very seldom let her wear hat.

3)I haven't burped her for a long time!!! anyway, she won't stay still to let me burp her!! She will burp on her own after a while.

1)JT's naps varies a lot. From 1hr to 3 hrs in total, 2 to 3 times a day.

2)She sleeps in her own cot in her own room from day 1

3)She is having 2 solid meals a day.... and struggling with it!

4)Depends on what time of the day it is. If she is very sleepy, then she can't be left alone in the cot without crying. If she just woke up, she can play on her own in the cot for 10-15min.

Went to see my GP just now. She said better to see orthopaedic surgeon first than just go MRI directly myself. So will be seeing one at SGH this friday afternoon. Dunno how long this will drag before i finally go for scan and find out what's the problem. My GP also said actually to save $$ in case of surgery required better go thru polyclinic then can go in as subsidised patient, she is scaring me with things like surgery......anyway no choice if still have to go poly queue and then wait for appointment drag even longer so will go ahead this friday as private patient.

Dora, its really challenging to take care of 2 especially Evee is quite a demanding bb, i hardly have time to rest even on weekends.had intended to stop bf only end of this month now may have to stop within 1 week if i am going for MRI as i think MRI is not safe for BF.

Choo, not sure what is evee's reaction to similac as my hubby helped to give the nite feed nowadays due to my back pain. But i think not that much resistance since she is able to finish 180ml within 45 mins or so.....even for BF sometimes she can take an hour.

eh... me bring mandy out rain or shine. she oso has e 'raincoat' 4 her stroller but i need 2 hands 2 push e stroller, n there r curbs n slopes etc so i always end up getting wet! we're nt so particular bt her going out on rainy days. once it rained super heavily, even her stroller 'raincoat' cannot tahan n this big pool o water splashed on to her. we still had 10min 2 walk b4 we reach home (fr our place 2 mrt takes 20min 2 walk when raining). so she was soaked in rainwater tho she din seem 2 mind! no reaction watsoever!

2) Reyna nvr likes her cot. She had been co sleep with us on our bed and when she's asleep, we trf her back to her cot at nite. Naptime now is in sarong.

Regarding the gaining on the breasts. REcently we counsellor are discussing on this issue, Shrinking breasts and sagging breasts. Our gathers are, our breasts will be slightly bigger than those who didn't bf. Reason was during pregnancy, our breast grows bigger due to the fats deposit ready for breastfeeding (hence those not bf will also have fats deposited), after birth, these fats are transformed into bm and feed baby, hence our breasts are soft and sagging initially after breastfeeding. After we stop breastfeeding, these fats are being deposited back to our breasts at a slower rate, but the breasts will be back to pre-pregnancy size.

ahhhhhhhhh....must tell u all somethg drama on sat....philson fell off from his stroller......here's the story....ahem....dat day, i was supposed to buy some stuff from the bakery shop so i asked hubby to look after philson who was in his stroller while i shop shop.....as i walked juz afew steps......somethg urged me to turn ard....so i turned.....TO MY HORROR......i saw philson in v....e....r....y s..l...o....w m...o...t...i...o...n (imagine those kung fu show in slow motion) fell off from his stroller....with his hand holding onto the side of the stroller....when his bum bum touched the floor....he then slowly released his hand n lie on the floor.....he fell without any loud thud n he didnt cry at all....cool hor???!!! however....the moment i saw him on the floor.....i was screaming away...threw my wallet n handphone on the floor....threw those things i intend to buy on the floor n ran to him.....but hor...that boy acted like nothing happened leh....still yaking away....sigh.....i was so embarrassed *blush* dat boy of mine is really a monkey....but is very kaisi....in conclusion...he is a kaisi monkey

acc to my mum, tx nap every 2 hrs. then it can be range fr 30 mins - 3 hrs. at my hse, she dun nap often. she only nap at 12+ and then woke up at 1pm cos she poos. then she slp at 2+ and slp for 30 mins only.
that's her sun schedule. she will take short nap on the way to my mum 's hse.

tx hardly slp in my in laws's hse on sat, maybe due to the new envirnoment, she dun get use to it, she will be very cranky then. when i am pumping in the rm, hubby can't handle him, tx will scream fr 7pm+ up to 745pm. then when finally, make her slp but she will nap for 10 mins only. hai...

Qns 2oes yr bb sleep in cot or co sleep?
- tx will slp in her playpen. she will co slp with us when she has her first feed in the morning only.

Qns 3:How many solid meals is bb having now?
- Cereal with ebm in the morning
- Eu ren sang Brown rice + ebm in the noon
- Fish/veg porriage in the evening

total: 3 solid at my mum'plc but 2 solid at my hse during wkend (no brown rice, brown rice power added to porriage so 2 in 1).


qns 4: Can yr bb be left alone in cot without fussing?
- depend on bb's mood.

on sat morning till noon, hubby not in so I dump all the toys and placed tx on our bed surround with high high sack sack pillow around her (cos she now finally can climb over pillow) and left her playing alone while I went for my pump in the noon. but occasionaly, came and peek at her.

- if she scream then will place her on the rocking chair next to me then dump all the wet tissue, card for her to play while I pump.

- or else, try to make her zzz..before I go and pump.


- dun let tx see me then she will divert her attention to esle where - toys then play with it. if she see me, she will pretend to cry in puty way.like what xWpinGxW mentioned maybe bb lack of security so they scared to be left alone.
