Thanks for your concern. I'm ok now liao. No leh, I dun work at childcare centre.... till now I still haven't figured out how I got this strange disease. But thankfully baby not affected. Baby will only be affected during 1st trimester, and last month when abt to deliver, in case bb also contract the disease during delivery. Thank goodness everything is ok liao....
After the long MC, I also no mood to work liao... hahaha so good lah, everyday think of baby and count down to delivery only...
Will take things easy now, and come and surf this forum more often
Wah today's topic is on language... Hubby and I also agreed liao, I'll speak to my girl in Chinese and he will speak to her in English, cos my Chinese better than his!! The thing I don't like are the elders speaking to children in broken english... I've heard so many grandparents speak to their children in really broken English... my goodness... I'd much rather they speak to them in dialect!! I know my dad won't, but I think my in-laws might just try to do that... that is something I will try to stop!

i've got a friend who is rather unique actually. she is a chinese married to a german and living in germany right now. she speaks to her daughter only in Chinese, her daddy only speaks to her in German and between the parents, they speak in English.
and the girl although she understands all three languages, at the age of 3 is still not able to speak coherently in full sentences whereas other children are able to do so already.
so not sure if introducing too many languages all at one time is good or not?

Frankly i don't believe in cutting hair lah...the baby hair so nice..why cut ? So smooth, i thot shave oredi will make it more coarse, coz shave at the scalp mah, like pluck eyebrow like that.

i think is not the maid on diet lar.. I also got a new maid to look after my grandma on Wed lor. She up till now also dun dare to eat rice or our main meal lidat leh. Oni ate bicuit & coffee leh. We scare she wait too hungry no strenght to work no strenght to carry my ah ma ar. but when i call my agent say isit she not used to our dishes cos we are vegan? but agent call her she say she got eat. eat rice & porridge. Maybe din eat infront of employer lar. cos my dad ask her eat together with them, she din lor. So i tell my dad maid is lidat one, they where dare to eat with boss one. sure is boss leftover or eat finish liao then they dare to sit down eat one mah.

i oso speak english with accent.. think the onli style i noe is singlish.. haha..

i see i mix with who den i speak wat type of mandarin lor.. with colleagues, their mandarin all very powerful one (50% fr China).. so i got to speak properly oso.. but when with frens, i oso switch to "ah lian" mode liao.. somemore mix with singlish.. all the "leh lah lor" all come out.. no perfect mandarin too..

my mandarin not tt gd oso lah.. but when compared to my english, it's considered super gd... hahaha.. now can imagine my english std.. n hor, i use chinese to process thots in my brain lor.. so i'm very slow n less humorous in english environment.. if in chinese environment, i warm up faster.. heee~

Just to share my experience on languages. I was brought up conversing to my dad in english and to my mum in mandarin. Not a deliberate move by my parents, but because my mum is chinese-ed while my dad learnt only english and malay in school.
Having gone through that, I think my grasp of english is still better than my mandarin because building up the foundation for mandarin is harder. My chinese was just not 'cheem' enough, although day-to-day conversation is fine. So, if you are keen to start your kids on mandarin, better make sure both spoken and written are given enough attention.

As long as yr bb is healthy...n other factors such as amniotic fluid n placenta r ok...dun worry too much abt the wt...my bb is on the small side too...as both my hb n I r small...my hb weighs oni abt 53kg after losin wt fm stress recently...when my hb asked my gynae the ways to hv a bigger bb...she told my hb to change his genes...whahaaaaaaaaa...on a more serious note...she recommended me to drink 3 cups of milk a day...I stil cant manage 3...so Im tryin 2...n eat an egg n fish everyday...fish is gd for depression...as I hv slight depression...

I think those fruit stalls should have.... supermarket got sell lah, but dunno nice or not only.... supermarket one is white in colour, cos they shave away the green skin and left the white skin... unless u r talking abt this one earlier and not the small hard brown husk kind...

And hubby's grasp of language/dialects is pretty bad.. so kind of up to me and my sisters loh (one of my sis teaches Chinese).... now come and think of it..maybe should psycho my sis to teach Mandarin to little children ...then all of us attend

u tried durian b4? there was a period of time where i kept eating durian.. both me n bb grow very fast..
i oso dun let my hubby view the forum.. it's my outlet to vent any frustration.. so cannot let him see.. heee~ but dunnoe he got peek anot.. he work in IT sector while me IT idiot.. so it's so easy for him to "check" on me if he wants.. i sure leave alot of "clues" in the computer one..

Thanks for your concern.. i m better already.. now back at work although am still on MC.. but today accts closing.. so no choice got to come back...
busy till now then can come in and post...
doc did a varginal check yesterday and he say tat there's no more bleeding already and it did not show tat its dilating anytime now.. so we can rest our minds..
he just asked me to rest more..
Shihui, i also got our cot already... got a second hand one.. but nt as cheap as urs la.. we paid $130.. saw the cot, its looks veri new and the wood is good wood, so we confirm without much thought...
ladies, i remembered someone mentioned abt tiny love imitation musical mobile selling at kovan right?
tat day i went to buy liao.. on the box it looks like its almost identitical, except tat the hanging soft toys are diff... so we decided to buy la.. since its so much cheaper..
but after we got home, lucky me hand itchy went to open the box and play the music... realised that the music are nt as wat was indicated on the box.. no mozart nor bach... i dun remember mozart playing 'old macdonald' lor
lucky tat shop allows me to change.. so brought back to change..

i heard from friends tat bb dun need to give them musical mobile so early. they cant see things when newly born and if introduce too early, it may affect their eyesight... heard its best to give after 3 mths.. is it true?

yah, actually some books recommend that u can start stimulating bb's vision from birth. they can only see very close and contrasting colours, so the musical mobile is preferrably hung low and hv contrasting colours. The Tiny Love one looks ok. I've tested it out. Of course, not just musical mobile, other toys can also be used to stimulate bb vision...and yes, it starts from birth, not 3mths.

Really ah happen to your friend's bb too. Quite thankful we didn't shave our bb, sometimes those pantang thingy really get people into trouble leh. Somemore no give reason why cannot do.

my hb wanted to throw away the box and i stopped him cos i said its so exp, must store it properly! next time can either let other ppl use or if God decides we hv #2, can let #2 use!
U know ah, i never realised such mobiles can be so expensive. =P In fact, i never realised bb things are so exp! even tho have lots of hand me downs, still spend quite a bit of money leh...
haha! yah, the gym is a good buy for 12 mths of use!
i didnt buy...thinking of asking pple to buy cos frens keep asking wat they can get...but we oredi bot most things during sales...=P
