Hi mummies,
anyone have give yr kid outside food liao? cos next week, we are gg for the studio photoshot and then will be out the whole day fr 1130am onwards. we did not have any thermal flask, hubby is saying that we can buy outside porriage for tx to consume, just tell the seller not to put those seasoning etc. for me, i am thinking, maybe I will give tx porriage at 1030am and then take cereal out. after that, will go KFC and buy their potato to add into her cereal instead with some milk. for me, I would not want to let tx consume outside porriage, think the porriage will tend to have some salty or whatever in it.hmm...any advice?

my col is also giving her son (now 2.5yr old) Master Pura brand. wondering will fresh milk make bb fat? is fresh milk more nutrient compare to fm (which has DHA,AA, prebiotic etc). what do PD said abt nutrient fr fresh milk?

bec i dun have that mind set of weaning off. for me weaning off bec I think I can't take it due to tiredness.now, I only pump alternate day for tx to have her dessert. dunno why, I have the urge of pumping, maybe too addited liao....

yeah once in a blue moon when Lucas is very cranky or wat he may bite me but only happened twice before. I cried like siao cos it was just so painful!!! hahah. but nowadays i latch on only in the morning and sometimes in the car when he's sleepy when we go out but he can't fall asleep... very bad i know to use mommy as pacifier but wat to do... i will do anything to get him to sleep!!!

Didn't log in for these 2 days cos JT has started to walk and walking all over the house... but she's not very stable yet, so it's so tiring having to watch her every sec!!!
Hubby survived the day with JT on mon.. so proud of him!! But when I came back, a lot of things to do lah... like he never wipe the high chair clean.. the floor also not clean... and there were a few ants when I came home...and dunno where he left JT's spoon, couldn't find it for dinner gotta hunt high and low for it... but other than these small hiccups, he managed to take care of her quite well... so proud of hubby!
But he say he dun wan to do this everyday... can die chasing after her!!

Actually why dun you buy a thermal flask? If you buy those unbranded ones, its not very ex... I bought and endo one at a sale and it's only $10. No sale also about $20+. It can keep warm for about 3-4hrs... Those branded ones can keep warm for abt 8hrs... I actually have 2... cos I go out the whole day on weekends and JT has both her meals outside...I think as they grow older, we have to bring them out more often, so its useful...
If you dun wan to buy the thermal flask, then buy the baby bottled food for TX, then mix with cereals. Definitely healthier then outside food. THe porridge outside has all the seasonings cooked together already, unless you are talking abt plain teochew porridge... KFC mashed potato is a highly processed food. It has such a smooth texture, it's probably reconstituted from powder, and not made from fresh potatoes... It's junk food afterall. I think it's ok to let them taste a bit of outside food, but not let them eat it as a whole meal cos they are still too young for all those seasonings and preservatives..... So far I've only let JT tasted boiled potatoes and broccoli from Ikea and plain japanese rice.
Wah... TX sleeps soooo much!! JT only sleeps every 3-4 hours, so she only has 2 naps a day... each lasting from 30min-2hrs, depending on her mood.. but she sleeps only abt 12hrs the whole day...

I got a food warmer but no use one, place the food in, can only last 1-2hr or even lesser cos she wanted to play.yup, thinking and looking for offer on thermal food jar. hubby said no need to buy.man....hai..

I bought the stainless steel thermal mug for food/beverages. The brand is Endo. It's 0.5L, more than enough for JT. I bought it at Tangs during a sale for $10. But I've seen it at other places such as OG, BHG and john little(but not endo brand), selling at around $20. What I do is to scoop out some onto a bowl and then close the remaining so that it will remain hot... if you just expose everything of course will turn cold lor... esp JT who sometimes take 1hr to finish her food. This one can last abt 3-4hrs... Got to put the porridge in when its very very hot... I got another tiger lunchbox that I bought at $49 at a sale, that one has 2 compartments... that can last up to 8 hrs, but it will just be lukewarm, not hot lah... but good enuf lor...Aiyo.. dun listen to men lah... sometimes they no logic one.... just go and buy lor.. its not like a few hundred dollars....actually outside food is really unhealthy....esp food court and fast food... I'll still bring food out for JT often when she is older next time...

shihui, yes..sometimes the kids will see our reaction..if we gan cheong they will cry even if its a slight knock... hahaha.... the hair will take very long to grow back...

My boy learning to walk lar but he is v cautious...refuse to walk if we dun hold one of his hands. Last nite finally take 1-2 steps on his own then fast fast hug me liao

lately Ivan can sleep through liao 9plus pm sleep til 5 plus or 6plus in the morning but now one new problem.his mami poko seem to be leaking these few days!!
ald asked hubby not to give him too much water in the evening.last time when he stil wake up one or two times hardly leak but sleep thru liao kept leak.i kept changing bedsheet n washing his long pants
any solution?

i've never used mami poko before but so far, i use pampers at night and it's good lor. Lucas drinks AAAAAAAALOT of water at night cos he will wake up like 2-3 times a night n cry and will reach for his own bottle and drink! so pampers definitely can hold alot of water!! hahaha

i oso have the same prob with mamy poko when ethan starts to slp thru e nite... sometimes have to change his diapers up to 3x with extremely heavy diapers... now i use nepia n its seems to be better... change him b4 he slp at abt 9+pm... sometimes can last till 7+am with heavy diaper of cos... but usually will change him once ard midnite b4 i slp... so far still ok...

as for the leaking, is it the diaper is not properly secure or adjust to cover his backside. the only time tx got her pant wet during the day is bec the diaper does not cover her backside - shift to side liao. tx use huggies (change to huggies bec offer mah,last time, use pureen dry 5) at night and ok with it. her diaper will be full (no leak so far) when she woke up on her morning feed. also tried the sample mammy poko, gd wor...high quantity can hold the urine more.
many ppls said that tx looked more like hubby than me.can go tx website and see the family photo. I also find that most bb gar in this forum look more like their daddy loh.

as for the leaking, is it the diaper is not properly secure or adjust to cover his backside. the only time tx got her pant wet during the day is bec the diaper does not cover her backside - shift to side liao. tx use huggies (change to huggies bec offer mah,last time, use pureen dry 5) at night and ok with it. her diaper will be full (no leak so far) when she woke up on her morning feed. also tried the sample mammy poko, gd wor...high quantity can hold the urine more.
many ppls said that tx looked more like hubby than me.can go tx website and see the family photo. I also find that most bb gar in this forum look more like their daddy loh.

no need to taste, i can smell that Gain IQ is indeed sweet due to its rich vanilla flavour. Also, I did not left the FM tin with my mom as we take care of hayley everynight since she only get to drink FM only at night for her last feed. Hayley is still on bm for her morn and afternoon feeds.
Agreed with Dora & Kimi, it is good to invest a thermal pot. For me, every morn I'll cook the porridge and put it to boil while I'm expressing. Then I will store the porridge into the thermal pot, pass it to my mum to feed hayley for her lunch. If we need to go out during wkend, usually we will bring her porridge out. If no time, we bring a jar of bottle food + cereal OR cereal + banana. This way, it is very convenient while you are on the move.
I going to introd MEJI fresh milk in another 2-3 wk time. So next time if we out, then no need to bring FM or BM, can just buy from outside.. super convenient as next yr we plan to bring her out for travel.

the thermal flask is really useful.. i bought one during the BP.. it's a food container with 3 compartments.. so i can bring out the porridge n vege seperately..
it's less than $50.. but i feel tt it's a gd investment.. infuture when bb dun need it, i can use it to dabao lunch to my office too.. hehehehe..

Hubby bo bian mah... I trained him from day 1 to take care of JT.... cos there's nobody else to help me if he doesn't.... so he learnt everything from day 1... and every weekend, I'll make him take care of JT while I catch up with my marking/other housework etc...

JT's eating has been ok... average slightly more than 3/4 bowl porridge every meal.... she still needs to play with things lah.. but at least she only need to play with <10 things and finishes her meal in 30min... a great improvement from playing with 20+ things and spending 1 hr to feed her 1/2 bowl of porridge... BUT last thur I tried giving her nutrisoy (the adult calcium enriched soy milk).... she took 1 mouthful and gave the same look when she took isomil... then shake her head vigourously... then she was on hunger strike for the rest of the day!!! Just like when we tried to give her isomil... she only had dragonfruit for lunch and banana for dinner... hubby and I were terrified... we decided not enuf calcium also never mind lah.... not going to give her soy ever again!!! We were so worried that she was going to be on hunger strike for another 3mths!! Luckily this time it only lasted for a day... the next day she ate 1 whole bowl of porridge!!
I also gave JT the appeton multivits during her previous hunger strike. It really works! So I was so happy, gave her everyday for 2mths... then I realised her palms and nose turning yellow... then I realised she is overdosed with Vit A!! So quickly cut down... now I only give her 2x a week... her appetite still ok... and the yellow faded liao ... heng ah....

oic. sometimes, tx also drink rm temp milk.but by giving fresh milk to bb, won't it has lesser nutrients compare to FM?

By e way if u're trying reading to get Lucas to wind down, hv to practise it's only 1 or 2 bks then it's bedtime. I was over-enthu & read so many bks to yang tat it's become habit to read many many many bks b4 he's convinced tat he exhausted all his reading materials.

my 1st boy (Yang) still in yao lan... But he'll sleep with me on my bed when I'm ard. Or he'll sleep w my mil at her hm on matress. Otherwise, he prefers yao lan. My fren advised me no to force him out of yao lan cos kids willingly get out of it once they outgrown it. Hiah praying hard he'll out grow it fast fast so i can sell my yao lans away. Got 3 of them.
Tx so cute. My little Xin Yunnnot not on yao lan cos i find it troublesome if i wan to bring her gai gai. Lucky she very gd at sleepin.. anywhere also can sleep, never get grouchy even with not enuff sleep cos she kpo, tired also wan to kpo with eyes half closed. Really tired eyes just shut zzzz. Problem is she dun like milk.
I also agree with Dora, men no logic one... they think bb can eat any food, incl cold food. Urgh.

oh! i haf bb einstein too. gd tt ur ger likes it. mine seems q bo chap bt it. even when we're watching tv, she oso bo hew e tv which i'm happy bt lah cos i dun really like her watching too much tv anyway. hehehehe... she only turns to look when there's acoustic music on. n only acoustic music like guitar or piano playing or singing. she seems to prefer tt to complicated arrangements. n i'm happy bt tt too cos i'm piano/keyboard player n hubby's guitar player.
oh, i oso tink it's ok 2 gif bb cold stuff leh!

w regards to whether FM or fresh milk has more nutrients, i really can't tell. all i noe is FM has more o e stuff tt i dun wanna let mandy consume n since some bks n PDs recommend fresh milk over FM, i dun mind feeding her fresh milk instead esp since she seems to like it more. those added nutrients in FM can b found in other foods too n since they r dependent on solids 4 nutrients n milk is more like a supplement now, i tink it's ok. i just make sure she eats a variety o food n get wat she needs lor!
oh, she seems to fatten up much faster w fresh milk, think more fatty! hehehe...
when they start to walk, tt means they r ready unless they've been trained too rigorously which is not good. at their own time own pace, there's no need to worry bt whether their spine or any part o their body wld b hurt.

so far so good....no ill feelings.
Meg is very happy when she see the nanny (happier then seeing me n hb when we pick her up).

yup, today, I also give her egg yolk fr the veg (zai) loh mee to keep her entertain or else she will scream. just now, ask hubby to feed tx, after 10mins, hubby 'scream' said tx dun wan to eat. ai-yo...really can't make it man...dunno how he will cope with tx on xmas eve.

Maybe i shld try to give my boy cold stuff cos he very fussy... reject a lot of food... very sian feeding him. My gal doesn't like cold food, turn her nose up at them.

It's ok... I'm 33 this yr... tat's y my gynae wans me to hurry up if i wan no.3. My gynae v nice, v pro family... he's got 7 kids! Ya, my hb also lor... feed my gal anythin... got once she only 1 tooth he fed her big piece of bread! I so scared she choke.

haha...i imagine ur hb's feeding technique, i also laugh. If meg (touch wood) also kena chik pox, at least she dev stronger immune sys to it. Chicken pox can kena again, esp if 1st time is mild case. I keep trying to kena chikcen pox when i was younger, always hang ard ppl who's having it, but never kena.... then my mom tell me cos i kena shingles already. Shingles related to chick pox, only shingles worse. Rem my relatives used lighted joss stick to "burn" e shingles away. Ya they poke e lighted part of joss stick on my skin... Argh like kena branded... very young then but still rem e incident.

Oh today NEW PAPER has a pic of Ivan's
just happened to send in trying my luck.Sort of celebrate his 1st birthday.hubby was surprised when he flipped the paper n saw it!
Now ihave alot of 'gan3 chu4'...time just flies though i myself find it tough..Ivan going to be 1 year old !!i dun know why i had the courage to quit my job,lost my financial freedom just to take care of him..glad to have this forum and so many mummies here to give me so much support/advices..think working is so much easier than taking care of a bb alone! glad that i have overcome obstacles n come this far!
though i stil want a girl but tink of taking care alone scare me hehe
