i have the bumper playmat but mine is in the animal print. i think it's a gd investment, i spend a lot of the evening on the mat with baby, like i'll read newspapers while she plays. also, next time can teach her all the diff types of animals printed on the mat

it's also v handy now that my girl is trying to flip.

mommies who have taken their babies for this in the 3rd month, when's the 2nd jab due?? is it the 5th month? i can't remember and i need to make an appt with the PD soon.

the helpful salesperson at First Few Years told me that when starting yr baby in any exersaucer, start putting them in for 5 mins each time and increase the time after a few days so that they won't get frightened or bored. after long deliberation, i think i'm gonna wait to get the Evenflo exersaucer cos it's soooo expensive .

starry, maybe ur baby prefer u to carry rather than sitting inside the carrier.. but kinda tiring to carry, right.. i can't carry nix long cos hand aching after a while and my wrists still hurt, when his chin pressed against my wrist, the pain macam gonna kill me.. gosh..

Starry, my boy seems alright lei.. his leg also open. Personally i like it coz' he will doze off while i shop / take mrt. compare to another brand - mothercare one.. i like Ergo better.

Jumbo, at first i'm also very reluctant to get Ergo coz' is not outward but then when i use it i find that Isaac tends to slp (maybe rocking motion) so if my carrier face front his head got no support and he can still explore side ways. so in the end i guess Ergo is not a bad carrier after all.

In fact, as Nix grow older like 7 to 9 mths u can carry him side ways using the same Ergo then he can see more things then

Tiffany, Isaac has start to flip quite sometime back alr. and he loves it coz' each time he flip his grandparents will praise him and he likes when pple praise him (GNS) hahaha

He now flip and "crawl" but when he realise he cant move much he will be very extremely angry. As for changing, last sunday i sudden realize that actually he kws start to kws when i'm angry and frustrated. Coz while trying to change him then, he keeps "moving" / "flipping". i scold him and lightly pat on his thigh tell him not to do that. Right away he pout his mouth and appears very very sad..

next moment he try his luck again, and again i pat him thigh.. this time although he stays still but tears start to flow out. aiyo my heart also cry ... *SOB SOB* adding to my wounds my stupid hb laughs at him.. saying "bar li good mami beat beat har" Grrrgghh

But ever since then he will stay put and let me change his clothes &amp; diapers HAHAHA.. so after all this little rascal do kws how to bully pple.

As for the leapfrog, he can sit for 10 mins.. but me or my maid has to sit next to him talk and play with him.. if not he will scream now his next fav toy is crawl &amp; pat friend.. from fisherprice. He sees the things rolling, he will scream with excitement.. weird boy strange interest.

U have to be patient with Lucas lor. Try let him sit and keep singing and play the toys with him.. that probably will catch his attention.

Hb bought the Combi bb carrier 4way8systems one... with some discount on the kiddy palace vouchers he has frm dbs n so paid for $130+.

Looks complicated. We tried the night 2.5h trying to figure out the common ways to carry Xuanting... using a dummy bear.

Frankly, I think MOM Sling is the most easiest... no need to assemble so many buckles.

U may want to take note when u getting a bb carrier for ur bb lo.

O.. Xuanting can't go into pools or ponds or seaside till she's 3 years old plus according to a shi fu le.. so can't bring her to swim. =(

koalarie, nix is the oldest here leh.. reaching 6 months liao.. of course mature lor.. keke.. wanna buy those full body swimming suit but all too big.. cos the water really cold + wind blow = icy cold..

i used to use MOM sling.. but dunno how to use.. kinda complicated and my mil keep nagging at me saying macam maid and asked me dun use.. so, in the end bought baby bjorn carrier.. but now nix outgrown liao.. gonna buy new one..

Mom_yam,
Bbs love praises and encouragement. They are smart creatures! I am "training" Lucas to flip, hopefully he can do it on his own soon. I believe it will be fun when he can flip. Handling Lucas really need lots of patience, he wants attention and needs companion, cant play on his own for long, will start to scream when he gets bored. Notty Lucas loves to scream at the top of his voice, and open 1 eye to see if i am coming to attend to him.

Jumbo, Ergo is super easy! one person system, except the back buckle at times i will need help to buckle if not i can just bukle my waist pad and put on one side of the shoulder pad then put Isaac inside and put on the other shoulder pad, buckle my back and go.

Tiffany, ya Isaac is exactly like Lucas, need atten, will peep see whether got pple "rescue" him. now i'm able to differentiate his "cries", coz' most of them are attn seeker type haha!

miu66, actually u can call yr PD and check when is the next best time for yr bb injection. They will advice and from there u can make your appt with them.

u can try to buckle the back first and loosen it. after u position him and put the buckle behind yr head and use one hand to pull the belt to fasten it.

RE: Rice Cereal

Healthy Times is available at NTUC. It's organic so more expensive. Brown rice cereal $6.80 per packet (~200g) made in USA. I bought a packet to standby. Intend to start when she hit 4mos. There’s other flavours - oatmeal, barley and mixed grain but I din see them – either out of stock or not carried at that branch. There's another Aussie brand, also organic in NTUC, cannot remember the name but it's even more expensive but I vaguely remember that it’s white rice cereal. Also saw the local Moon Rabbit brand brown rice cereal, no milk and got variety leh…got plain brown rice, got added ingredients ones like si shen, ikan bilis, yang shen, cordyceps….

re: frozen BM. i just let it stand in a bowl/cup of hot water until it is warm. remember not to shake the milk, just swirl it around.

How to Warm the Milk (From BMSG site)

Thaw and/or heat under warm, running water; do not bring temperature of milk to boiling point; shake before testing the temperature; do not use a microwave oven to heat human milk.

tiffany - the nurse at TMC told me that if BB has not consumed the milk, it is ok to put back to fridge aft it has been warmed but it cannot be refrozen.

After you warm up the milk fm fridge, you can only leave it for 1/2 an hour and you gotta throw it away liao. Cannot put back into the fridge. Me too have the same problem, after warming up the milk, JJ dun drink and after half an hour, i got to dispose it... heart so painful and worst is after coming back to work, my suppy drop liao. Now i so scare not enough to feed JJ until 1 yr old.

OHH OHH.... sometimes, i will put back in the fridge for later use. normally, i will smell it b4 feeding him, smells ok lei... at times, when i put outside for too long, i will discard, very very heart pain. once, i drank it up the full 150ml, when hb knew it, said i disgusting.

My mum in law ask me to drink the excess milk, she said sayang to discard. Honestly, i dun quite dare to drink it... i have to take deep breath then gobble it..

ET (winky), i dun really know why my BM supply increase. no special change in diet also. And some more my boy is taking less milk now...

previously, my supply is just nice. I always express into milk bottles and put in the fridge. But now i'm running out of milk bottles, so i've started to store in the Avent VIA storage cups (the transluscent ones with the blue lids). But the storage cups are too big to use with the Avent warmer. So does this mean i have to thaw it in a bowl of hot water?

miu66, how long does it take to completely thaw and warm up frozen BM so that it's ready for consumption?

I normally bring the frozen milk 1 nite b4 and thaw it below (fridge). by morning, it shd be 75% thawed alrdy, then use tat to heat up for the morning feed. is this method ok? somehow, i read abt this somewhere....anyone can advise? thanks

tiffany - yes ok to put back as long as BB has not consume it. If consume means come into contact with saliva = bateria.

i think it's ok to do that, but after it's been thawed and warmed, it should not be refrozen and as 1sttimemum mentioned, you should dispose of it if bb does not want to drink it.

hmmm i'm not sure, i usually just put the packet of BM in hot water and keep adding fresh hot water till it feels like it's the right temp. maybe abt 10mins?
