hi Jumbo, the decision really depends on u. As for me, my bb will b staying wif my mum when i'm back to work n we will bring her home every fri after work n bring her back to my mum place on Sun nite. It's easier for me cos my workplace is near my mum place n i can drop by to c bb after work if i wan to. Than hubby will come over to pick me up n c bb at the same time after work. It's not gd/healthy for the relationship to leave out or get yr hubby.

yukie, i've the same plan as u have.. my work place near my mum and i think of coming my mum's place to see him everyday.. but my hubby wont be able to do tat as he doesn't drive, work place so far and by the time he reach my mum's place will be mid-nite liao.. my hubby also mentioned to me that he's feeling a distance between our relationship now.. but i told him this will be time-being thingy

Hi Jumbo, your situation reminds me of those days..btw, how abt your own house? Me, hubby and BB stayed with in-laws since BB was born & it has been 3 yrs, not easy initially, lotsa conflicts but now thgs have been much better, it takes time, really. I juz find them contradicting with the way they handle BB initially...hubby & me oso quarrel bcos of BB esp when she cried for no reason..now prob still do arise but we've learnt to iron thgs out openly, try nt to bottle up cos it'll create more misunderstandings....me got phobia staying at in-laws' place dat time too, part of my post-natal blues period...
I agree wif Yukie, the 3 of u should be together esp at tis period of time, so seems like your mil's place is the solution, she doesn't mind does she? If ur mil likes to probe into your ways of handling BB, juz do it your way if u think it's rite but reason out with her amiably, it may not work but at least u've tried..think +vely, maybe some of her sugg may not make sense but I believe their intentions are gd juz dat they dunno how to put avross in a better way.

Maybe u discuss wif your hubby again & weigh the pros aand cons before u guys decide?

My suspision only lah.....now there's so many "entrepreneurs" (mummies or not) in the marketplace, making it a v sensitive issue for Chin Leng, so I'll rather not comment too much on the other threads. I already curious when she first posted as she's a new user, but reserved my doubts since she may be just selling 1 set...she din mention got so many sets....so just wait and see how she replies.....then it seems that she can fulfill so many requests. Dubious. A mummy says she got email from 3 different supplies willing to sell at $75 somemore.....think could be the same person using diff. identity. Don't you think it's too much of coincidence that these "suppliers" know about our purchase intent and can act upon it so fast, and all within the same period of time frame leh. I believe that real businessman / dealer would not monitor our marketplace so closely for such petty gains lor....... otherwise, how come during the first few bulk purchases, no one step out to say she got better lobang at $75? Must be some opportunistic "mummy" (I doubt if she's really a genuine SB mummy at that.)
But, you got yourself a better deal than at $92. So, maybe be happy about it?

Jumbo, I feel that since your hubby already feel the distance, you shouldnt leave him alone..
maybe try to bear with your MIL and stay on in her house? When she try to probe or ask you to do this do that, just close one eye or ask your hubby to talk to her?

For me, my mom move in with me recently to help me take care of my gal and the newborn. so it's easier. Today, keep feeling a pressure pressing down there.. so scare the waterbag will brust when i'm outside. wonder if i should take leave earlier

thanks alot juzmaine and irene for your advices, we havent got our own place yet.. that's why have to stay with my in-law since married.. To my in-laws, i might a good "DIL" as i always listen to them.. cos i understand it isn't easy to stay with in-laws, i've been trying to prevent any dispute get started , dun want my hubby to sandwich between us.. so, have to bear with everything.. everything was peaceful initially as i seldom see my in-laws cos all of us working.. but now on maternity leave.. somehow will face them everyday if i stay with them.. will talk to my hubby again... have to settle it asap..

How about getting your mum to go over to your place during the day time to help you look after Nixon? It is a good thing that your MIL is working.. so your mum will have some peace while helping you take care of Nixon? The good thing is that you stay quite near your mum's place.. so travelling shouldnt be an issue for her right? Not a good idea to stay apart from your hb since he mentioned he already felt the distance

thx. But Citibank no promo for 2bedded leh. But nevertheless, working out 2 c how especially if bb continues to grow too big then think i better drop the idea 2 go for natural delivery n go straight to C section.

Ur gynae really did u quite a lot of good deal leh.. mine if do C section, at least 1.8k leh.

Ask u... my friend was telling me one induction injection costs ard 100+? Which is the one in ur list?

the limit depends on what was performed. For GlenE, max. medisave claims for C section is 2.3k n for natural delivery is 1.050k and if assisted is 1.4k.
But if any complications or medical conditions to be treated not related to the three, can claim the everyday medisave one.. which currently is 300 per day and would increase in the month of april to 450 per day (if i m correct).

I've used Nepia, Pampers, Mammypoko, Drypers and Huggies. Heee...I try out coz got samples for the last 3 brands that I mentioned. Nepia not good leh, not absorbent (leaks twice liao) and I need to change abt 9 times per day, basically after every feed coz Jayden poos alot. Drypers also cannot make it lor, wet after 3h. Pampers, Mammypoko and Huggies is good but Mammypoko has no urine indicator so has to use hands to feel if the diaper is wet or not lor. Wat brand is Amanda using now?

Wah.. you tried so many liao.. I tried pampers and mamypoko pants so far.. pampers is definately thumbs up but ex.. mamypoko pants like you said.. no urine indicator.. and I find it a little too thick though..

Amanda pees and poos non stop esp during night time.. we can change diaper for her.. and she will either pee and poo when we are changing her or right after we change her.. so got to change again.. you intending to use cloth nappies?

Ya, planning to use cloth diapers but not so soon lor. Coz my mum says bb poos and pees alot during the first 3 mths. Mayb wait till next mth then I will try using cloth diapers during the day.
Currently I experiment using nappy liners with the diapers coz sometimes diapers not very wet but got to change due to poo poo. So if got poo poo then I'll change the nappy liner only. Imagine, Nepia is wet even though I put nappy liner leh. So I will not recommend Nepia lor. Luckily I only bought 1 pack of NB and S.

hmm...u try the nappy liner method first lor. Actually I was thinking of using the cheaper diapers too but hor, heard many stories dat the material not suitable for bb and results in rash leh. So bo bianz, just hang on to pampers and nepia first. When they get older like 2 mths onwards then poo poo not so much then wont cost so much $$

I'm trying so hard to catch up with his demand for my BM. Tdy only manage to express 70ml for his 2nd feed. So drained from all the expressing....

I see. Well if you want to win him back to your breasts I read a few suggestions from another forum. One is to try to latch him before he gets really hungry so he won't be so frustrated. Another is to stop using the teats to avoid nipple confusion. Can try to feed using teaspoon or small cup. Well just suggestions lah.

I know how you feel.. I could only express out 30 ml every time during the 1st week.. very very frustrated.. guess my MS was low as I didnt have much appetite and was quite weak then.. then I started taking alot of fluids.. and ate more.. and SS more liao.. I dont express so much now.. direct latch on.. TBF.. feed about 5 to 6 times a day each time 1 hour.. and she pees and poos like nobody's business.. and has been putting on weight.. so I think it is enough..

Got to persevere! Try your best to latch Jayden on as much as possible..

Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. Have tried to latch him 1h before his feed but still doesn't work out. Furthermore, my mum will start to nag at me when he cries so no choice, give him FM to stop his wailing lor. Luckily my hb is very supportive, unlike my mum, and told me to hang on and continue expressing. So everyday I continue to live my life like a cow lor, eat, drink and pump. haaa...

Yeah.. support is very important.. luckily my mum and my hb both are very supportive.. my MIL still claims that I dont have enough milk.. even though my darling is growing well.. irritating

You've got to keep trying.. my girl didnt know how to suck properly the other time.. always gave me sore and almost bleeding nipples.. but now she can latch on quite well.. its thru training yeah..

I have popped on 31st March at 39 weeks! This is my birth story:

5.05am: Contractions started at 7 min interval. Not very sure at first, so started recording down to further monitor.

6.15am: Hubby woke up, so told him that baby might be coming out liao. Continued monitoring. Contractions increased in frequency to 5 min, then 3 min...

7.15am: Decided to go to TMC. Took a nice shower and washed my hair.

8.15am: Reached TMC. Put me on observation. Confirmed me on labour. Have dilated 2.5 cm.

10am: Gynae visited me and burst my waterbag. OUCH!!! Decided that I cannot stand the cervix checks plus the contractions. Asked for anaesthetist cos nurse said she will only arrive half an hour later.

10.20am: Anaesthetist arrived. Gave me my epidural. Instant relief. Could not feel any contractions after that.

11 plus to 1 plus: Slept

1 plus: Gynae visited me again and said my contractions slowed down. Asked nurse to give me oxytoxin.

2.55 pm: Nurse said already dilated to 9 cm. Baby's heartbeat irregular.

3.05pm: BB's heartbeat still irregular, sometimes falling below 100. Gynae confirmed cervix dilated 10cm. Going to give me assisted delivery by vacuum cos she said long labour might not be good for bb. Quite worried about baby so she asked for paeditrician to be on standby. Started pushing.

3.22pm: Gladys is out!!! She weighed 7.8 pounds (3.405kg, 49 cm) Couldn't feel any pain at all. Epidural was sooo good!

Saw gynae doing the stitches. Did not expect the more I see her sewing, the more I was going to suffer.

Suffered badly after epi lost its effect after 6 hours. Could not walk, could not urniate. Nurse had to put cathether to drain urine out at 3am. OUCH again!

2nd day still could not really walk. But could pass urine already. Stitches still hurt. Until today still cannot pass motion =(

Suffering from breast engorgement, sore nipples, pain from stitches, body aches, swollen legs now. (looks like pig's trotters)

Breastfeeding problems: nipples too sore for Gladys to latch on. Pumping out about 20ml from right breast only every 2 hours. Left breast no milk yet, maybe cos of inverted nipple. Both breats engorged quite badly. Really painful! Scared Gladys too hungry so I feed her with my 20ml of EBM then supplement with FM.

Congrats on the birth of Gladys!

Hmm.. I could not pass motion after my c-section as well.. so asked doc for medication and it really helped..

Sore nipples.. tried using the nipple cream? Personally I use both medela and avent nipple cream and also used a bit of breast milk to apply on nipple as it contains antibiotics

Engorged breasts.. I used hot compress to place on my breasts and did massages to help ease the pain and flow of the milk.. drinking a glass of hot drink will help too..

just came back from jurong point.. spending the whole afternoon there.. but spending more time at kiddy palace.. keke..

hunniepot, i've tried Pampers, Mammypoko, Drypers and Huggies.. didn't try Nepia.. of all, drypers the worst.. prefer pampers and huggies.. mammypoko so-so nia.. beside pampers have the urine indicator, Fitti has urine indicated too.. I would buy Fitti to try out the next time cos hubby bought alot.. all stock at home.. during the day time, will let bb put on dryper.. cos cheap cheap nia, during nite time then put on pamper or huggies.. Nixon has used 3 packs of huggies and 1 pack of pampers for the past 1 month plus..

i've stopped given nix ebm liao.. no more flow
