HI all,
Had a fright of my life this morning. Regular contractions at 15min interval from 5am till 8am. Guess it's BH but Gosh, this time round the pain from the contractions was so intense that I cried. My hb was so worried that he quickly called his office to applied for urgent leave. Anyway, now the contractions has sort of stopped but the tummy still has the weird pulling and constricted sensation. Will be going for my gynae visit later and see wat my gynae says. Wow, if it's real labour guess I'd have fainted from the pain.
 


the herb for shower one.. can ask the ppl from medical hall, they all should know.. wat my mum did was boil it with ginger... then shower.. all the clear water i used are boiled before.. she doesn't allow me to use tap water.. and no plain water for me to drink too.. just drink the longgan drink.. but i think the food and drink are too heaty and make me a bit sore throat.. beside longgan drink, can drink milk and milo.. just no plain water lor.. dunno the reason behind it.. and another rule from my mum, no standing while drinking.. she said must sit down when drink.. or else will have urine leakage next time.. even my cousin told me that.. so i just follow lor.. but sometime, for convenience, just stand and drink lor.. just do more pelvic floor exercise to compensate lor.. keke..

Thought BH contractions is not supposed to be painful.. I also experienced quite abit of contractions last night but definately BH cos it is not painful at all..
 
hunniepot, what a steal huh.. cheaper by so much.. when's the taka fair ends huh? i scare by the time i finish my confinement, can go out liao and the fair ends.. my hubby no time to go and buy for me leh.. anyone going to the fair??

I've not gotten anything from Little Dreamers.. as a little bit out of budget after buying so many things for bb n plus next month a huge spending in hospital n gynae's delivery fees.. =p

So, mommy said asked CL how to bath lor.. her times only used boiled water and some flowers in the bucket.

One packet only one bath right? How about hair?? Cannot use body's soap to cleanse body? And shampoo on hair??? Can cfm?

I think most chinese medical store did sell but maybe different packaging lor.... I am thinking to buy 20 pkts coz i also wanted to bath on the 12th days onwards but might still used it to wipe my body before my 1st bath....

Not sure when we will be meeting up.. might not be so soon? Can arrange to pass it to you since your mum's place is near my mum's place.. no problem getting it for you as it is quite light..

The SIM are old designs, Mozart-in-motion (MIM) is the newest design. Saw from the US sites that the retail price in US is the same for all these models, US$39. But I thought the SIM is better 'cos can play 3 different music - Mozart, Bach and Beethoven.

I think can still use your shower gel and shampoo as per normal, but use the herb water to shower off. Yes, 1 packet for 1 time use.

Prefer Symphony In Motion to Mozart In Motion coz got 3 different classical tunes which can choose 2 play 3 tunes consecutively for 15mins or individual one @ 15mins each. Oso for this one, the animals move at a slow constant pace, unlike some cheaper ones in d mkt which spin very fast. So dun tink it will cause bb to become cross-eyed.

Hi Sggal,

I lost 200g in my last visit also. The nurse said I should not lost weight, but my gynae said it is still alright, but got to monitor. Got to see if my weight got gain or lost in my visit this Friday.

Did your gynae said anything abt your weight lost?
 
My contractions is also very painful, just like what preciousbabe has describe. It has slowly come back again but very mint now. Yesterday was like pain every hour.

I have been gainning lots of weight these few week. Something like 1kg per week. I have gain a total of 10kg now.

RE: Cloth Nappies

Dunno who mentioned about the fraying of cloth nappies in the wash last time, but I just did my nappy wash. My machine is those top load kind so tend to twist the clothes {I HATE IT} .... so I put all the nappies in a large laundry bag to prevent the nappies go out of shape. And they all turn out ok, no fraying.....the material quite good, considering so cheap. The brand is KoKoru - bought at the Bugis wholesale shop at $8.
 
jasminetea, same here. nurse also said how come i lost weight, but Dr didn't seem to be concerned. just weighed myself on my home scale today. seems like gained

Now still have lah coz I saw it yesterday in First Few Years @ KKH. I bot @ 48 (R.P 79.90). Dat time I oso enquired from cheong choon tink d lady is able to give some disc for tinylove pdts if I remember correctly.
 
koalarie, no leh. i sleep like pig (well, pig who goes to toilet in the middle of the nite, but goes back to sleep again) n no problem eating
 
Evon, me same as Sggal leh. Still sleep quite okay except on certain days if my heartburn get too serious. Definitely no change to my eating habit also. So puzzled when I weighed and the nurse said huh? weight loss by 200g.

Sggal, I weigh myself everyday since tt day, so far never gain anymore weight. Haaa.. also getting a bit worry. Now eager for Friday to come so that I will know if my bb growing or not.
 
Lost weight??? How i wish i'll b able to lost weight at tis stage! Than after delivery don hv to shed off so much...

yukie, 15kg is still normal, don't worry. i oso put on 14kg already. from what i read, from 36/37 weeks, unlikely to put on more, should probably maintain
 
Hi all,
Just returned from my gynae visit. Had VE and was attached to CTG to track for contractions and also had a scan to check water level in amiontic sac. Gynae confirmed that I'm experiencing real contractions, interval of 1 in every 20min. Cervix has yet to dilate though. The water level is also dropping and I have to go back to KKH to monitor bb heartbeat and water level twice a week starting from tdy. Gynae also mentioned that if water level continues to drop, I'll be induced next week liao

Thx for replying.. just trying to figure out as well since i not been sleeping really well n constantly experiencing pains on my body all over @ nite.. but not weigh yet.. yet, got ppl said i seem 2 lose weigh on face. =p

Hope it wouldn't affect bb.

Take care of yourself.. and contact your gynae as soon as you experience any symptoms.. for all we know.. you might be the next one to pop!

The water level refers to the water in the amniotic sac.

Actually wanted bb to wait till at least 38weeks then come out leh but now looking at the situation, don't think it's possible liao. Anyway, didn't want him to come out so early coz he's still very small size lor. Estimated weight as of tdy is only 2kg.

I was very upset and worried after seeing gynae. My gynae asked if tdy bb moved alot tdy and I told her that bb movement has decreased alot. And when I went to see her, my contractions r still coming strong. That's y she put me on the CTG to monitor contractions as well as bb heartbeat.

I'll be using shampoo & shower gel with the herbs for shower, after which will apply the "bai-jiu" (whie wine) to prevent "wind" from getting into the body (was taught ;p) Wow, seems like a no. of the gals are gonna deliver real soon...me getting nervous tho tis my 2nd time, think my imagination is running wild, always worry that the epidural jab may yet to take effect & the gynae had oredi 'sliced' my tummy open..urrgghhh....

Dont be too upset.. if Jayden were to come out next week.. you would be ard 37 weeks already right? Full term liao.. think so long as bb is 2 kg and above.. shouldnt be a prob..

Asked my mum if I need herbs and stuffs for confinement.. she gave me the incredulous look and said: "whatever for?" hehe.. luckily my mum is going to do confinement for me.. and she wont insist on me following the traditional confinement practices

hunniepot and chenoa, had my 2nd session with kathija this afternoon, today can feel that she had use more force on my tummy, other parts are just ok liao.. but certain can feel the pain..
as usual, i on the fan today and i asked her is it ok, she said actually not good lor.. but she understand that these days very hot.. all ladies who did massage session with her either on aircon or fan.. she get used to it.. and tat's why use a big towel to cover those massaged part to prevent the wind from entering.. the massage oil she using is made by her mum.. it is made of ginger and lemon grass.. i asked her the alternative beside massage oil, she said use cream but oil's better cos get rid of wind.. for the bind, it is for me, i dun have to return her.. but she said after the whole session (after 7th session) if i would to continue, i have to buy a new bind cos tummy will be loose for the bind.. but wat i think is cos the elastic bind's loose liao.. keke.. for the jamu herbs, she used jamu cream for me cos i'm at 3rd weeks liao.. she said it is better to start massage at 3rd day after delivery and jamu herb will be used instead of the cream..

hunniepot, i'm also lucky to have mum to do confinement for me.. but she is very traditional type.. alot of DON'T.. but i always one ear in, one ear out.. but i love my mum's confinement food.. nvr sick of it leh.. but she can handle nixon very well.. these few days dunno wat happened to nixon, keep crying for nothing and making me frustrated.. and everytime, i will throw him to my mum.. keke.. but strange lor.. whevener my mum carry him, he will stop crying.. love my mum so much.. my saviour.. keke

Yeah.. really lucky to have our mums to help do confinement.. my mum is a great cook too and her thinking is very modern.. told her some of the advises my MIL gave with regards to confinement practices.. and she had a good time laughing away ;p

Aye....Why don't you on the air-con instead? Air-con is actually better 'cos it maintains the room temperature better and no blowing wind.

The bind she use is not the traditional cloth ah? Is it the elastic type like this

My mum says no need to use the chinese herbs wor. She also din know about the herbs for bathing.

Your mum must be very good with babies....or the massage oil on your body really stinks

Your baby is a bit small (could it be because you also small built?) but as long as he's healthy, don't worry. Not good for yourself and baby if you think too much. Stay positive!

suddenly remember someone mentioned that consuming pao sheng will make baby bigger. Maybe you wanna try? Even if not for baby's sake, take it for yourself. Pao sheng is for pu qi, you will need a lot of qi during delivery.

Contractions still coming every now and then though not that intense anymore. Anyway, don't think consuming any tonic now will help increase my bb size as my gynae did mention that bb is not absorbing nutrients well from me due to my placenta. That's y affects the water level in the amiontic sac too. I don't know wat's the relation too. Anyway, will just ask my mum to buy that for me to eat. Thanks for the recommendation!
