Your hospital don't provide anything for baby? Yeah not sure if hospital want to use cloth nappy for you because who is going to clean the soiled cloth? Plus the nurses no time to check all the time. If that's the case, your baby's cloth diapers might be left wet. I think better you check with the hospital first if they willing to use. If no, they you don't have to pack them.

How come I don't see anybody putting on the list camera?

Wow, you really got lots of things to bring leh..... are you sure you can manage so much thing when you discharge coz dun forget that there will be hampers, flowers and some goodies bag that hospital going to give you....... its better that you check with the hospital what are the things they need you to bring!!!!

Oh yaya, i almost forget about the camera but who is going to take for me if hubby not inside the ward huh???
 
Wah...! Ssgal, tats alot of thing u r bring...! Hv not heard of others bringing nappy cloth n nappy liner leh... wat i knw is the nurse will bathe our bb for us...

RE: Post-natal Massage
I am thinking to change my massage to either Katijah or Nisah coz they seem cheaper and quite good too.... anyone has got any comment on these two massage lady??? Katijah: 10 sessions - $500 incl. 3 days bb massage than Nisah: 10 session - $400 and Rokiah: $570 - 10 sessions..... i am thinking to save abit so which one do you think i should take? I think only Katijah doing bb massage which i feel is quite good lor

I don't think our BM come in so early, usually around the 4th day. But maybe our breasts will leak colostrum by then. So if you don't put breastpad, then maybe your bra will kena the sticky liquid. It's really up to you.

Wait for Jumbo to give her report first before you decide? Still have a bit more time. I think by next week Jumbo would be able to let us know.

re : baby stuff from hosp. from what i know, we get 1 bathtub (actually already bought!) + 1 pack baby wipes + 1 pack diapers. but i really dun wanna use the disposable diapers on baby leh. must go call them n check abt cloth nappies

yukie, breast pads no need so many ah? how to know how many we will need. mine is not the re-usable kind leh

jilian, thanks for reminding about the camera. i'm sure my hubby will want to take lots of photos. already told him cannot take when i look un-glam :p

1sttimemum, get the midwive to help u take? or else put on those small tripod n use remote control if yr camera has this feature?

hey winnie, ya lor, alot of ppl said nixon look like me.. especially his cheeks and mouth.. keke.. but he has thick hair like daddy..

had postpone the massage session to next monday.. keep changing the appointment.. keke.. cos tomolo going to do baby birth cert.. tomolo last day to submit liao.. will definately let u all know how's khatija's skill :p

try to rest as much as u can while in the labour ward.. cos the pushing part really tiring.. i spent an hour pushing the baby out.. gosh.. was keep telling hubby to ask doc just pull baby out.. keke.. lying flat after delivery..
 
Hunniepot, thanks for your help. I still have not contacted the lady. Was feeling very very down and upset these few days. One of my dog has passed away suddenly and another one is in critical condition. Rushing up and down the clinic and hospital (dog) these few days. Have to be monitor closely. I was so devasasted! I missed her alot. I really thank god that my hubby is here for me. I know its hard for him but yet he has to act strong for me and baby. M now at home resting and looking for my 2nd dog w/ close monitoring. I hope I don't break down again when I back to office looking at my gal's photo.

Really sorry to hear about your gal dog.. what happened exactly if you dont mind sharing? My female doggie ate ant poison last week but she is alright now after having her stomach washed.. Try to take things easy.. esp for the sake of your little one..

I really feel very lethargic nowdays after my hb forbidded me from swimming alone.. really feel very good after each session.. Think drinking abit of the pool water accidentally is fine.. the most impt part is to be careful when walking ard the swimming pool.. wanna join us? Where you stay?

Hunniepot and terrier,

M still coping hard to overcome the loss of my precious gal. It happened too sudden. Sent her to emergency clinic on sat nite and she passed away on sun morning w/o waiting for us to arrive. Vet said there's water in her lungs. She had difficulty in breathing. My 2nd gal oso develops the same symptoms as her. Luckily, her symptons are slow as compared to my 1st gal. However, my 2nd gal almost couldn't make it. She has oso developed lungs problem and its too sudden. Thou now is in stable condition, she needs to be monitor closely on her breathing. This week is a critical week. I really hope that she can win the fight. If not, I really cant imagine having to lose 2 dogs even before my baby is born.

Stay strong for your dog and for your bb.. they both need you most at this time..

Just monitor her closely and I am sure she will fight and win the battle ahead..
 
Hunniepot, Yishun Safra also fine with me, but earliest i reach there is 7.00pm. is it crowded in the evenings? TP Safra also can, i can reach there ard 6.30pm. The place i go is a country club in Seletar - very few pple. can swim until 9pm. if i not wrong, u staying in TP rite. so i guess TP will be most convenient.

What hunniepot say is true, you got to stay strong for both of them.... your dog can feel so you must be brave so she is able to win the battle, never feel discourage!!! She can feel your love and will win the battle just for you!!!!
 
Thanks for the encouragement. I need some time to cope with the loss of her and I think I have scared my 2nd gal. She dun dare to come near to me. I better not post too much of this sad news. Sorry for all these grieving. Just needed to pour out again.

TP safra's swimming pool is very small and pathetic.. the only other swimming pool available is the public pool which I think will be very crowded in the evenings..

Yishun safra.. I have never been there on weekdays evenings though.. Was there on a sunday afternoon.. not crowded at all.. are you a member? If not can use my hb's card to gain access

No worries.. if you need to let it out.. just let it out.. it is unhealthy to keep it all inside you.. at least you know for sure your gal did not have to suffer long b4 she departed right? Just lavish your love and attention on those who need it most right now..
 
des, no problem. i think more importantly is take care of your emotions. will affect your baby. even your 2nd gal can feel it, dat's y afraid to go near u. take care.
 
hunniepot, i got no problem with yishun safra, but do u have a problem, swimming so late. i can only be there by 7pm. btw, me not member, so you'll probaby have to sign me in. thks

Today, just went to see my gynae and bb now is 33wks and weigh 2.177kg. Gynae say its a big bb and if continue to grow at this speed, she dun advise me to go nature and suggested me to go for C-section. Abit sad coz really dun want to opt for c-section leh...... and bb confirm is a boy but still cannot see the face. He always turn the other way and the head has go down liao but gynae say will turn again!! Hope that he won't grow too big and stay at this position......

My bb actually weighs 2.1kg @ 32 wks already, but my gynae never talk the similiar thing as wat ur gynae told u...

I oso dunwan c-section, n my gynae says we can't predict anything now, if the bb comes out earlier, then the size may still be okay to go thr natural birth...

Me kept packing n unpacking of my stuff and then kept changing maternity bags.. normal or not?? Just can't seem 2 make my mind what to bring and wish tat I can just tag the whole luaggage there then I no need scared that I forget what and what at home and blame myself for carelessness.

1sttimemum, my baby weighed 2.04kg at 32 weeks. that was with my old gyne. but she didn't mention c-section. now i changed to new gyne (cos i want a pro-natural gyne), and going to see him for 2nd visit on sat, so dunno how much baby weighs now (almost 35 weeks). but i know he has delivered big babies natural too. guess a lot depends on yr gyne's style. maybe u can talk with her and discuss yr preference v yr options?

Think the only form of exercise I can do right now is to walk my dog round and round the neighbourhood.. Think would be a good idea to bring our babies to go swimming together next time? Think it will be fun

Don't worry too much now. Still left a bit of time. If scared, can watch your diet. Stay away from the sugar stuff. It works! 2 weeks back my gynae said baby was a bit big. Then I watch what I eat, and last Fri baby didn't put on that much and is back to the average range. So you ladies can do that too.

Whether you have a c-sect is really up to you. Your gynae can advise but the decision is yours to make. People with 4.55kg baby can go for natural birth without epidural, so means it's not impossible! If you really want natural birth, don't give up.

Re: Maternity bag
Koalarie, I'm sure you have a list in hand. Just double check your list and once you confirm your list, pack your bags and strike the things from your list. In the weeks to come, if you need to add then you just add but with the list you know what's already inside so you odn't have to keep on checking if it's already in.

Hehe. I'm a list person. I have lists for everything.

My bb was 2.5 kg @ 33 weeks and 2.7 kg @ 35 weeks but my gynae did not mention anything about c-section leh.. he just said that my bb is bigger than average but not extremely big.. so no cause for worries yet.. like what sggal mentioned.. it is good to let your gynae know about your preference whether you are ok with c-section.. (i told my gynae I hope not to have c-section and he had it jotted down in my notes).. perhaps in that case, gynae might chose to induce if bb is getting too big for natural?

Looks nice but I 4get 2 bring my notebook on the measurement of my current pooh set.

Ask u.. how u intend 2 wash the bedding? The bumper set? The blanket cover? The pillow case, bolster cover, I still can wash.. but the quilt cover seems fixed .. so is the bumper set.

Just shared /w u folks... think bb weight @ ard 3kg and above seem normal these days. One of my friend's wife juz delivered the bb gal @ 3.4kg at 38th week. Then at the thread "avoiding epidual" seems like some mothers managed 2 do so even w/o epidural n bb weighs ard 3kg and above!

I threw everything into the washing machine.. but cant throw in too many things at one go.. just throw in 1 bumper for each round.. the quilt can throw in with other things like the pillow case and bolster case etc..

jilian/mummies, any reason to get the special pre-made sarong sling? i'm thinking to use a normal sarong cos i got so many of those and in the old days, that's what people carry babies in.

Then your normal sarong then you tie a knot? Will the knot hold? For me, I bought the sarong sling cos it's the proper size (not too big or long like a normal sarong) and it has the rings for securing the sarong. Or are you planning to sew the rings on yourself onto your sarong?

Also the premade one come with nicer fabric. Cos you know the older sarong prints quite obiang. But that's just my thinking. If you don't see anything wrong with it, then no problem. The only main thing to consider is how you're going to secure the sarong.
