(2005/10) Oct 2005 MTB???

regret i can't join all of you on dec 10.. esp since there's a gathering..

carole, tammi's new word is bear - everything that she doesn't have a name for - is bear! she pointed to my neighbour (big sized lady) and said bear! so embarssing!

i heard that kids who can walk earlier will speak later n vice versa. Tammi is still crawling too. if there's someone there to catch her she can walk wobbly 5 - 6 steps on her own.

fushiarstar - Tammi progressed to Nan3 already since she turned 1 so I wont be using Nan2. I use Nan2 night feed tho' cos' it's more filling i heard. if u have nan 3 i dont mind taking from u..

sneaky: whaha ya lor.. she better hide in tt meeting. kekeke

my kitchen has had a war.. whahaha i baking just now.. so funny! now super messy! let my maid clean.. i am sure she will tell me, Mdm, can next time dun bake. whahahahahhaha

pammie: clarisse is still crawling, but learning to stand by herself.

Fushia: like many already walking our girl still crawling. we dun pressure them to learn, cos its nature. just take things slowly.
happy.gif

carole,
tammi has the habit of throwing herself back while in standing position.. and she's soooo into books, waking up at 5am calling out "books" "books" but actually when u open the book she's not interested to listen! she jsut wants alot of books everywhere..

sneaky: yah!! one day mtg fly for more 24 hrs for 1 mtg...but it's major customer so cannot say no.

walking/talking: xaby walks when held but hasn't been brave enough to walk on her own yet..and can't say coherent words yet!

patsy

Give her a stool or toy storage box to walk with it.. Alden uses such to train himself for abt 2 weeks
happy.gif
now he dares to walk alone liao :D

carole, hide in the meeting? unfortunately, she's assigned to APPEAR ah...patsy, nevermind...go there and enjoy yourself during your free time. bring home some goodies for Xaby!!!

talking: samuel can say mama, dare dare, por por, kng kng (for gong gong), duck ah duck ah duck, jiak (peek a boo), bubbles, elmo, nai nai, dah dah dah (eldest auntie) and other words that make no sense....he's such a talkative baby! makes the house so noisy nowadays especially with our scoldings "no this, no that"

fun: whaha.. ya manz.. SB cha at home.. she can yell at 11pm.. gosh..

my banana cake finally out.... nice looking but wet inside.
sad.gif

Yippee,

oh issit?? didnt really think of that.
maybe go japan cos i have a japanese friend there
happy.gif
but exp lor. so see how lah. maybe go back to NZ or perth or europe cos hubby likes it.

Brennan also cant walk too. only can stand and when someone wants to lead him to walk, he sit down immediately. hopefully the infantcare center can train him to walk la
happy.gif

carole: i v KS hor :p

patsy.. oh.. how's xaby now? the bruising gone?..

pammie: is there a nan3 in the market?? didn't know that.. hubby said to just get the set of 12 tins if the expiry date is more than 12m later.. save us the hassle of having to source for cheap nan.. the price he can get now is about $20 for a large tin..

Re Positive Tots trial..
just to clarify.. the positive babies class is up to 15m and the positive tots class is fr 15m onwards.. i've signed us up for the positive Tots class.. but i've told them our babies age so the instructor will conduct the class with that in mind.. they are aware that some babies can walk/run and others are at the crawling stage..
happy.gif

fushia: nt too good to be too KS. Ks little is ok. too much, kids may nt be able to take. if they learn naturally, it is God's gift. They pick up things as and when. through play usually

Subject: Isaiah 65:24 This will give you the chills...
>
>
>This story was written by a doctor who worked in South
>Africa ..
>
>One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the
>labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died
>leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying
>two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty
>keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator (we had
>no electricity to run an incubator).
>
>We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we
>lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with
>treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the
>box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that
>the baby would be wrapped in.
>
>Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water
>bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me
>that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber
>perishes easily in tropical climates). "And it is our
>last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the West,
>it is no good crying over spilled milk so in Central
>Africa it might be considered no good crying over
>burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and
>there are no drugstores down forest pathways.
>
>"All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire as
>you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the
>door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep
>the baby warm."
>
>The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have
>prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose
>to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various
>suggestions of things to pray about and told them
>about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about
>keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water
>bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it
>got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old
>sister, crying because her mother had died.
>
>During prayer time, one ten-year old girl, Ruth,
>prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African
>children. "Please, God" she prayed, "send us a water
>bottle. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby
>will be dead, so please send it this afternoon."
>
>While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer,
>she added, "And while You are about it, would You
>please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know
>You really love her?"
>
>As often with children's prayers, I was put on the
>spot. Could I honestly say, "Amen". I just did not
>believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that
>He can do everything, the Bible says so. But
>there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could
>answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a
>parcel from homeland. I had been in Africa for almost
>four years at that time, and I had never, ever
>received a parcel from home.
>
>Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put
>in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator! Halfway
>through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the
>nurses' training school, a message was sent that there
>was a car at my front door.
>
>By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but
>there, on the veranda, was a large twenty-two pound
>parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not
>open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage
>children.
>
>Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing
>each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to
>tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting.
>
>Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the
>large cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out
>brightly colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I
>gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages
>for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a
>little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and
>sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the
>weekend.
>
>Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the ... could
>it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out - yes, a
>brand-new, rubber hot water bottle. I cried. I had not
>asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He
>could Ruth was in the front row of the children.
>She rushed forward, crying out, "If God has sent the
>bottle, He must have sent the dolly too!"
>
>Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled
>out the small, beautifully dressed dolly. Her eyes
>shone! She had never doubted!
>
>Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you
>and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll
>know that Jesus really loves her?"
>
>That parcel had been on the way for five whole months.
>Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose
>leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a
>hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the
>girls had put in a dolly for an African child -five
>months before, in answer to the believing prayer of a
>ten-year-old to bring it "that afternoon."
>
>"Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 65:24).
>This awesome prayer takes less than a minute. When you
>receive this, say the prayer, that's all you have to
>do. No strings attached. Just send it on to whomever
>you want - but do send it on. Prayer is one of the
>best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot
>of rewards.
>
>Let's continue praying for one another: Father, I ask
>you to bless my friends reading this right now. I am
>asking You to minister to their spirit at this very
>moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and
>mercy. Where there is self doubting, release a renewed
>confidence to work through them. Where there is
>tiredness or exhaustion, I ask You to give them
>understanding, guidance, and strength as they learn
>submission to Your leading. Where there is spiritual
>stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your
>nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy
>with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and
>release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin
>blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold
>over my friend's life.
>
>Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and
>raise up leaders and friends to support and encourage
>them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the
>evil forces around them, and reveal to them the power
>they have in You to defeat it. I ask you to do these
>things in Jesus' name.
>
>P.S. Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend
>will bless you both. Passing this on to one not
>considered a friend is something Christ would do.
>
>"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're
>not willing to move your feet."

fushiastar: thank yo so much for that... you don't know how much i needed a reminder of God's love... but this came just in time! It is blessed how God sends his message sometimes. Xaby's doing well... still a lot of bruising but otherwise, she's well. I'm attaching a picture of her bruises (quite gory, sorry) but also a more cheerful picture of her with my mum beside the Christmas tree at my home.

Oh gosh! i see liao also heart pain for u ah.. if u carry her hor, will she feel the pain with her legs are squeeze close together huh???

fun, yah, very heart pain... but I think now not so painful for her anymore, only last friday - sunday. just the bruising still quite bad but the doctors warned us about it.

patsy:
I know the heart pain.. cos that time Sherisse need to take some blood for blood test the nurse kept us out of the room by the time they finish she cried like hell man.. then hor cry until cannot catch her breath.. then the area where they took the blood got blue black.. very heart pain to see her suffer like that but we dun have the choice loh cos the tests need to be done.. so after that we brought her out to shop to cheer her up..

patsy,

wat words can xaby say? she called you already? grace still dun want to call me mummy... although i know she know i am called mummy....hee

sweetie, she can say baba, and can call mummy but only when she's in distress, i.e. having blood drawn, changing her dressing, etc. she hasn't voluntarily called me mummy yet but does call her baba. She does know who everyone is tho, coz when i say feed kong kong, she feeds my dad, etc

Hi fushiastar - yes got Nan 3, got Nan 4 even nan 5! I just started Tammi on Nan 3 when she turned 1 because that's what it states on the tin - for 1 -3 years. didn't know i could carry on with Nan2.

Patsy - heart breaking.. but i believe it looks more painful than it feels. Don't worry. Your xaby will be a very strong girl !! what can she not endure after this?

Tammi started to call her daddy around 9 or 10months voluntarily.. I could only stand aside and watch in envy.. on the day she turned 14 months, she started to call Mummy. Now she only wants Mummy... I must say it feels good.

Carole - wet banana cake? hmmm sounds yummy to me.
happy.gif

pammie: lol. the cake apparently was little less wet.. dunno why...

Patsy: my heart drops when i see those blue blacks.
