IVF/ICSI Support Group


Hi, i just had my ER done 2 days ago. I’m still spotting a little now, is it normal? And can i check how long after ER will my menses come?
 
Hi everyone, I’ve been following the threads and learning a lot.
I had my FET done at KKH last week and am on Crinone progesterone gel inserts. My blood test is next Wed but today I started bleeding. It’s been about 10 days after FET.
Not sure if I should still continue with progesterone inserts. Can’t call the clinic coz it’s public holiday today.
A little bit sad if this means FET didn’t work. Still hopeful but am preparing for the worst...

Sort of.
Earlier in the day it was pink.
When I went to the toilet, I thought I saw clots but it’s the crinone gel wrapped in blood.

Now it’s getting darker and heavier though.

According to my usual cycle, I’m suppose to get my menses today or tomorrow. It’s always very punctual. But if one has taken all the hormones and shots, would our menses cycle still be like normal timing?

I’m also wondering about the progesterone, coz I’m suppose to take one at night too.

My last fresh cycle was like what you are having now but I still continue with the crinone gel till I know should be menses and I just give up using the Med. Call them tmr and check what u should do, at the meantime just continue with the Med.

I just tested 10dp5dt hpt last night is negative. This is not considered early right ? My blood test is on 14dp. Seems like my first attempt is a failure

Alot of people didn't succeed on 1st attempt. But fret not, blood test is still the gold standard. Just hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.

I didn’t test positive but in my blood test was positive. Forgot the details already so wait for bt.
 
Hi anyone has review on dr zou yu min Tcm at amk? Went to see her las wk. Was told need to take 3mths of medication and weekly acunpture. Was thinking it is necessary to go thru the acunpture for both hb and me for 3mths. Cos the medication and acunpture will be like $500 a mth?

my friend went to see Dr zou and she was told to take 3 months of medication. she is not required to go for acu as she was less than 35 yrs old then. She has seen her for 6 months but did not succeed naturally. she has stopped seeing tcm.

Actually I'm 33 this yr. Not sure why she ask me go acu every wk. Maybe bcos the previous cycle is BFN...

You have a better chance at younger age. I did acpuncture during 3rd ivf cycle n conceive my girl. When I did fet after that and had acupuncture, it was bfn. I Guess different situation and body status at that time yield different results. Do what you are convinced of. All the best !

Hubby no need ba.. last time when I was with her I only did accu, never take her meds. For my successful cycle I didnt do accu or take tcm meds.. so for me I think those didn't make a diff.

I went to Dr Zuo for 6 mths and she told me to go weekly acu every week for the last 1 mth before ivf. I think she is like production line treatment, all the patients who see her will go through the same treatment regardless of any issues. I failed my ivf even after I went for weekly acu but I think depending on individual. I changed my TCM doctor and my TCM doctor heard abt her and told me the same thing.

There are many successful cases under Dr Zuo so no harm trying I guess.
 
I have just failed my first fresh ICSI and period already came. I am left with grade C embryo freezed at the moment. Trying for my first at 40, should I start another fresh cycle if doctor deemed I’m fit or proceed with FET ? I’m not sure how much is the embryo storage fee at KK for that one embryo but I’m not comfortable to use it for the next round. If I fail again I’m left with nothing.

I think it would be good to do what you're most comfortable with, making an informed decision after hearing the doc's views :)

My suggestion is if you have the financial means, do another cycle. See what you can learn from your first cycle and improve your health/odds, then do a second cycle. It could be tcm, womb scrap, massage, exercise, diet change, increased supplementation, change of protocol or drug used. Of cos at end of day, you must remember you did what you can.
Also it depends on if you will be happy to use just this one embryo and if you succeed then you have a kid then stop there. If not, you can do the above and do the second cycle and consolidate the embryos for fet?
Not easy decision but you will have to decide. All the best!

Yes, initially I thought maybe to use up that frozen embryo first but I think I will feel more terrible if this fet fails and I’m back to square one again. Currently I’m not working as well so able to rest 2-3 months and start another fresh cycle.

I was also left with 1 embryo from my previous cycle and went ahead to transfer. So if I want another kid means another fresh cycle. There's no right or wrong, so depends on your comfort level and plans. If your plan is to have more than 1 kid, then doing another fresh might be good cos as we age the quality might be worse.

I do not have plan at the moment for more than 1 kid as now already thinking if I can really have 1 or not. My concern is if I fail again this time I need to restart new cycle again which is more demoralising. Guess I’m more comfortable with banking in embryos first given my age.

I've done a total of 4 fresh cycles, 2 fresh transfer, 4 FETs b4 I got my 1st baby.

Tough journey but we will get there 1 day. Be strong!

Thank you so much! You have been very encouraging to me! Sometimes I feel I am very alone in this journey but lucky there is this place for me to raise my thoughts and concerns. I will be positive and hope for the very best!

We all have a story to tell. Some are fortunate to have one on a shorter journey, some are blessed with one after a longer journey while some don’t regret because all has been tried.

This is also my last fet with a single embryo. It’s time to close chapter and move on. It has been 8years, 5 fresh cycle, 5 fresh transfer, 2 fets, 1 kid and 1 miscarriage. Hoping the best for this.

Hi ladies, would like to get your feedback on natural vs medicated FET. I’m scheduled to do FET in Aug, still waiting for AF. I could not do fresh transfer for my second cycle because of high progesterone. My KK doc recommended me do natural FET with letrozole to help me ovulate as she said medicated FET has more medicine and if I bfp, I’ll need to take medications until 12 week. Is this true?

I have been reading that natural FET is more stressful due to need to catch ovulation window. Hence I feel like calling KKIVF to ask to change to medicated cycle.

But on under hand, I’m unsure if it’s good to have so much medication. I am a Hep B carrier (monitored regularly by my liver specialist) so my worry is taxing my liver too much. After each fresh cycle, my liver values become high because of all the hormone injections and it takes a few months for the values to return to normal again. :( Before I embarked on my second fresh cycle my liver specialist gave his support as he said the liver situation is manageable.

Am I worrying too much about everything? My AF will come end of Aug so I still have time to decide.
