it all differs on which route you take, what kind of medication and injections you will be taking during the process.

if you want to take the public route, you will need a referral letter from the polyclinic where they will contact you for an appt.

if you are willing to pay more, normally $100-200 for an appt, you can call their appt hotline straight to make the appt.

even after the grants, you will be paying additional 1-2k which of course there are other necessities you will need to pay without the deduction of grants.

best is you call the hospital to clarify!

No weird symptoms and don't intend to symptom spot too. Shall just try to take things easy and don't overthink.

Quite a few mommies told me it’s normal. My doc didn’t say much of it but to be on the safe side, she gave me progesterone for the next 2 weeks. Managed to see the doc this past Mon, as I was worried about having low progesterone and she did a scan. It places me at 5w4d, which was 2 days earlier than I expected. But I can’t tell the dates accurately cos my O came one week late this cycle. I have to go back for another scan in 1.5 weeks cos this scan was abit too early to see the heartbeat.

Not severe symptoms yet! Had mild cramps and a feeling of pressure in the lower abdomen but that got better after taking progesterone. Fatigue and sore boobs is constant. No nausea yet too, I’m 6 weeks plus now.

Does your hubby take vitamins too? That might help sperm quality. My hubby also saw the TCM and was prescribed once a day meds for a couple of cycles. I got preggers on SMEP. You can try it and see if it works for you.

If you don’t mind me asking, how far along were you when you discovered the blighted ovum? I did my first scan at 5w4d, and there was no yolk sac or fetal pole yet. It might be too early or might be bad news, could swing either way as it’s too early to tell.

Hellos! I started blackmores conceive well gold for about 6 months or so but my periods became rather irregular (I'm mostly regular) so I stopped. Haven't conceive yet also haha.

From the reviews I gathered online this comment is quite consistent, but good for some ladies so I think it's dependent on individual also.

Egg retrieval (I started my first ivf cycle). Previously I was on Blackmore conceive too and I realised my cycle is always late compared to when I didn't take any so I stopped too.

Not yet, waiting for period to come before I can start.

Usually its <5 days. The reviews are always quite mixed.. some said it worked for them and some delayed menses.

Age is one concern and I read alot and also understand from the other girls from various forum platforms on the low success rate with SOIUI. Felt like the experience of gg thru the pain is rather similar in terms of the jabs so might as well go straight to IVF.

My SO is actually 2 years younger than me, but my biological clock is ticking..

Historically i am not regular, ranging from 40-99 days, i have PCOS which is why im not hopeful!
But since last nov when i started TCM i have been regular about 30-33 days. So i also think maybe my pcos is “back” since i was not diligent in taking the meds last few weeks

Last cycle is natural. Before that i was on letrozol for 3 cycles but failed so i am taking a break now. Hence no opk and did not take tcm meds etc.

I always have bad nausea, lose of appetite or increased appetite, aversion to certain food and will feel tired, so every month is a struggle for me. Lol

So even though they only provide paltry specialist medical benefits, if cannot be used to defray some fertility related treatment costs.

Hi Reina, you notice any change in discharge? I had more white and sometimes yellow lotion like discharge while pregnant. I also had sore boobs and a feeling of pressure in my lower abdomen.

Btw, just to update that I was diagnosed with mmc last week. Baby stopped growing at around 6 weeks. V v shocking and devastating for hubby and I, cos as you know we have been trying for so long and finally got pregnant. Doc said happens to 1 in 4 pregnancies, and we don’t have any health issues, hence was likely totally random and we couldn’t have done anything to save it

Hey dear, i am soooo sorry to hear about this. I will be devastated too i wish i can give u a big hug... 1 out of 4 is more than i expected, but yes i do have friends who mc at 6 weeks and then smooth the 2nd time. I hope you get some good rest, a mini confinement and ready to try again.
I feel nothing... my CM is kinda creamy white now but i think thats norm for me. No sore boobs nor pressure in abdomen so i really think the blackmores screwed up my cycle... i MIGHT visit the gynae to induce period if i still no period this weekend + BFN.

Hi Sharmin, I’m no expert, just sharing what I found online. Progesterone usually peaks 7 days after ovulation. Hence if you have a textbook 28 day cycle and ovulate on CD14, CD21 would be when your progesterone should peak. However for ladies like us with longer cycles, progesterone test should be take7 days after ovulation. Maybe you can ask your doc for a progesterone test on CD28?

Btw, in case the progesterone measurement units are confusing, usually the sites online reflect Ng/mol but our local test results come back as nmol/l. U can find websites that offer conversion for the units. For 3ng/mol, which is indicative of ovulation is about 10+nmol/l. Hope this helps

Hi @whentwobecomesone , you are right that our local progesterone serums result shows in nmol/L. I did my on CD22 last month the result showed 32.3nmol/L doc said it’s good that i was ovulating and clomid works for me. But I didn’t managed to conceive last month.

today I’m on D16, yesterday I finally got a smiley face. Now I’m entering TWW *fingers crossed*. Doc suggested I try another 2 cycles till Dec by Jan if I still didn’t conceive he suggested I do HSG to check n try IUI.

p/s: I’m 36 and I have PCOS and thyroid (but it’s now normal)

Natural might need to wait couple of weeks since my body dunno that the baby not developing anymore. You did a D&C?

The meds were the worst! I had a lot of side effects like contractions, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Doc said probably sld wait till my period comes back naturally before trying again. Did you doc say that too?

Everyone’s symptoms might be different. If you tried on the days tt you O, then might have chance. One week after your period is late can test already.

Not really sure what to do for mini confinement. I goggled the Chinese websites and they mention stuff like don’t catch chill, don’t eat any cold or Liang stuff, eat healthy, don’t tire yourself out, no moving of heavy objects or exercise. All this I was already doing to prepare for pregnancy, so not sure what else I can do.

I think it’s e emotional hurdle need to get over. But slowly day by day I feel abit better. Just dunno when can be so lucky to be pregnant again. Worse is I keep seeing pple pregnant which reminds me I should be 9 weeks pregnant now

Could you please share with me the reading of BBT? I’m a bit confused... the highest I got was 36.5C was the day before I got smiley face. After that 1 day spike it went down to 36.3C

I’m no expert since I tried it for one cycle only. My typical before ovulation temp is highest 36.4, but most of the time I get 36.3 and below. Once I ovulated, my temp shot up to 36.4 and above. I read that after ovulation your temp should be around 0.2c higher. It will remain high until your period comes. U can try using the fertility friend app to track your daily temp. It generates a chart

Nope mine was natural. When I stopped the progesterone support I started bleeding quite a lot already. So during the next check up my gynae said most are gone already. Just gave me 1 pill to clear any remaining clots.

Ya she told me to wait 2 cycles. My TCM said wait 3 cycles. So I waited coz I rather my body be strong enough first rather than later going through another mc and maybe I might be super depressed after that.

Yes, u will get better emotionally after awhile. Initially I could just start crying when I think about it especially when I shower (coz my hubby can't see) but now I can talk about it relatively normally. You can try Yue Zhi Le confinement if u want to do a mini confinement. I thought their food quite good and the portion is so huge! Could share some with my hubby. They also provide the longan red dates for u.

Hii... I'm also going for the gov subsidy route. Had to go to Polyclinic to get a referral and they will make the appt for you at the hospital of your choosing. If you make the appt, it is considered private, but once they make the appt and you get the sms, you can call and schedule an earlier appt if there is cancellation on the subsidised appt slot. You cannot choose the Dr and every time you go for Dr appt it will be a different Dr unfortunately. But I came from TFC (Thompson Fertility) and the Dr also refer to notes, not like he knows me personally, so on this logic I guess seeing a different Dr every time doesn't make much difference to me. Just had my 1st appt with the random Dr yesterday and she scheduled a mammogram and HyFoSy for me before it can be determined if I can go for IVF. I brought all the tests results with me and the Dr did take into consideration all the tests I had done in TFC before so I don't know if I need to do another blood test when the next random Dr sees me. I also won't know if I qualify for the subisdy until all the test results are in. I need to know as I believe the cost of doing IVF in TFC and KKH are almost same without the subsidy.
I am also in a dilemma as I am already 41 this year. Do share your experience when you go for the subsided route

Hii... I'm also going for the gov subsidy route. Had to go to Polyclinic to get a referral and they will make the appt for you at the hospital of your choosing. If you make the appt, it is considered private, but once they make the appt and you get the sms, you can call and schedule an earlier appt if there is cancellation on the subsidised appt slot. You cannot choose the Dr and every time you go for Dr appt it will be a different Dr unfortunately. But I came from TFC (Thompson Fertility) and the Dr also refer to notes, not like he knows me personally, so on this logic I guess seeing a different Dr every time doesn't make much difference to me. Just had my 1st appt with the random Dr yesterday and she scheduled a mammogram and HyFoSy for me before it can be determined if I can go for IVF. I brought all the tests results with me and the Dr did take into consideration all the tests I had done in TFC before so I don't know if I need to do another blood test when the next random Dr sees me. I have just booked appointment for Polyclinic however. Do I need to book for DH as well or we can visit together during my time slot? I only manage to book the only time slot of the desired day for myself. How about DH? Should he register on the day itself?

What do you mean by DH? Dear Hubby? haha.... I did not make appt at Polyclinic, I went super early at 7.30am, line up and saw the doc at 8am myself, told him I want referral and he just key in the info. Then later that day I received the appt sms, then I called to see if there are earlier appts for the subsidised slots. You and your hubby should go together to see the Dr at the public hospital so Dr can advise.

Just to share, hubby went polyclinic together w me and the doctor asked both of us questions pertaining to our health and tcc journey. Probably good to go together!
