Hehe hope so. Today thh told me, u cannot half hearted. I have to believe in it, you as a patient also have to believe in it. Oh my nearly fainted under his charms. No wonder he is so popular. Teeheehee
Lol! Really sound like korean drama! But he is really vv charismatic. Jiayou muff!

I'm just wondering why kkivf patients are scan by sonographers and the main doc doesn't review the results? The scan results are reviewed by a group of doctors? Then who decide abt the medication dosage?
I asked tth too. He said for him, he makes it a point to see the scans of all his patients. So not to worry.
wa, again he has so many girl fans in this thread too. He's our Bae!

I ordered confinement food for 2 weeks, had LDT, some had herbal bath I did not cause I was down with chicken pox at the same time. Most impt have plenty of rest. Keep urself warm, wear socks to slp, wear slippers at home if u want is to prevent ur bare feet from the cool flooring.
I also try to have more home cooked meals and avoided all raw, cold, spicy and cooling foods. Took the advice of milogal, also taking red bean soup and red date soup every other day. She also suggested soaking feet in warm water every other day.

Hi,

I have been a silent reader of this forum ever since we decided to embark on IVF 2 years ago. Am with with THH at KKH.

History of my journey so far:
- 1st fresh cycle in mid 2014. Retrieved 27 eggs. Got 17 successfully fertilized to 2-day embryos. Transferred 2 but BFN. Balance 15 snow babies.

- 1st FET in end 2014. Transfer was aborted as the 5 snow babies defrosted did not make it to blastocyst.

- 2nd FET immediately the next month. Of the 5 defrost, transferred 1 blastocyst and BFP. However, pregnancy was terminated at 14weeks due to multiple organ defects. Basically, baby wouldn't survive outside the womb. Experienced my worse heartache ever and felt like a murderer ever since. The only good outcome of the whole process was that we found out that the defects were not due to abnormal chromosomes. He was a perfectly normal chromosome baby, just unlucky in the process of cell-division. Took 1 yr to recuperate physically and emotionally.

- 3rd FET done recently. Of our last batch of snow babies, only one made it to morula stage on our transfer date. However we just confirmed yest that it is a BFN even though I experienced what I think is implantation spotting few days before blood test. Now waiting for AF to arrive.

Feeling really down right now and needed a place where I can (privately yet) openly express my feelings so thought I post here. Will be seeing THH next week to plan our next fresh cycle.

In the meantime, let's all continue to jiayou and good luck to all the ladies here.
Dear, you have come so far and I hope you continue to stay strong and will succeed with a viable pregnancy eventually soon. May the strength that carry you this far carry you through the rest of the journey. Take good care and recover well physically, emotionally & mentally and try again when you feel ready. Jia you!

Hi,
I'm also a THH patient at KKH. Just started consultations with THH and my first impression was he was really young and wondered if he was perhaps not experienced enough to help me. But I did see all the success stories pinned on his wall so I guess the least I can do is to start off with a positive mindset that I could be one of them.

Anyway, I've done my tests, hsg shows left tube may be blocked. Despite having a working right tube, I've TTC for 2.5 years and nothing resulted. My husband has good commandos but due to his other health issue, he may not be able to produce fresh loads of sperms for an entire year. So THH advised to go straight for IVF and for my husband to freeze his sperms.

Long story on background but just introducing myself since I see fellow IVF comrades here and likely I will be posting my progress and looking for support here. Lined up for IVF in July. Yup someone mentioned earliest IVF is in July, that's true, just got my dates last wk at KKH.

My first worry is the quality of my eggs because I have no cysts, one tube but no news when trying naturally for 2 years. Turning 34 this year.

Just wondering how to tiao or prepare the body for IVF? When u girls go to Tcm, what do they do? Medication? Acupuncture?

Thanks DawnBB. Although, i have been a silent reader, reading this forum has given me alot of support and positivity.

Hi, sorry for your heartaching history. It's always not an easy journey even after we get pregnant. But I see that your fertilization rate is really good so jiayou for your next cycle! This forum has a lot of warriors and I always find comfort here. Good luck for your next discussion with thh!

Thanks Muff. While my fertilisation rate is good, they don't survive past blastocyst. Not sure if there is anything we can do to bring the rate of survival up.

Hi almondearie, im also 34 this yr, and tried 2.5 yrs with only a left tube. Doing my 2nd ivf in july too, can be cycle buddies. After my failed cycle, i added more supplements to improve egg quality. Also started seeing tcm and doing accupuncture twice a week as recommended by her.

Actually I don't even make it to blastocyst level. But if you see the cases studies of so many ppl globally, day 2/3 embryos have equal chances to blast as well though the rave about blast is that if they survive in a lab harsh environment that many days and grow beautifully they have higher chance to be implanted.

Hi almond! I think over the years he has gained really quite good experience with ivf cases. I know from nurses he sees up to 75 patients a day. If you add up over the months, he sees more patients than private plus hospital always have more complex cases. Initially when I decided to go kkh I was also skeptical but I think his knowledge is definitely there. The rest you have to leave it to the lab. Good luck for your cycle ! I'm 36 liao!

Anyone here in your stimming phase? I currently did my second scan, have many many more follicles at my right ovary than my left.. Is that normal? Probably going for retrieval this coming week. Very nervous!

Normal. I also have more on right than left. Usually you will have one pre domineering ovary good luck!

So sorry to ask this, but I wish to find out more for those whose preg are not viable and need to terminate their preg.
@shiro_ger had share she chose natural mc, how about ladies who with similar experience? Did the doc give u any options? I asked a few friends, most say doc just tell them d&c, no other options given.

After the mc is mini confinement necessary? How Long is mini confinement?

Hi rainbowdream, great, let's keep each other posted on progress in July ya! Good luck and baby dust! I'm still tinkering with the idea to go for Tcm, which I understand will take time and perhaps for this round, it won't be helpful yet. I've been taking folic acid that's all. Will research on diet or other supplements that can help egg quality too! Thanks for the tip!

Hi muff! Thanks! Needed the positivity about this doc. Some friends were asking me why I didn't go TMC or somewhere else since I'm paying private anyway. Cause THH has been packed. Even fixing my next appt was easily a month away. Not blaming him of course, I've seen him rush back flushed from his rounds to start off his consultations at clinic D for the day. I understand that many couples need his help.
Anyway hang in there! I guess it will all be worth it when we finally strike gold!

I recommend the book "it starts with the egg" for a good read on how to improve egg quality and recommended supplements. My decisions on the supplements to take were largely based on this book. I only just started accupuncture a couple of weeks ago, and my tcm recommended doing it for 3 months with the 3rd month being ivf month. So may not be too late if u decide to give tcm a try.

Haha true for the queue. By the way, I've did cycles with tmc and tfc before. Kkh is really good with all the facilities except the wait is a killer. Sometimes I feel like murdering someone. Haha

How's Tmc and tfc? Under sf Loh?
I was under LC Cheng for tmc and SF Loh in tfc. LC is good doc, analytical but too conservative for me. Repeated same protocol on two cycles. My lab with LC Cheng was under CARE Novena and another cycle was done at mount e. Mount e lab is really good. They focus on blastocyst and very knowledgable but expensiveeee..

Sorry to SF Loh fans but I do not think I have any affinity with him. I personally won't go back to him hand I find him overly complacent. His lab to me is so so only.

SF knows I came from tmc under LC, they have some unspoken competition between LC and SF. So he told me my case is very simple and clear cut, if I dn make you pregnant I don't be Doctor liao. I didn't expect any doctor to commit to me so I thought he shouldn't have said that to me. In the end never bfp at all. Embryos were more crappy than what I did at tmc ...

Tfc is cheaper than tmc for my cases.

For me, i was not given any option and did D&C. My doc just wanted me to get it out asap. I think he felt that the longer i wait, i will get more depressed/emotional. After that, i sort of did mini confinement for 2 weeks. Basically focusing on the food i ate and drank lots of LRD tea.

Yes, but the HL was more for me to take time off to heal emotionally. Doc said the womb actually only needed a few days to recover. So I went straight back to work after resting for 3 days as i needed the distraction.
Ya I can imagine alone at home.. Make it worse. So your mini confinement is more like the food u eat?

Dr Loh suggested to insert med for miscarriage but he did explain there may be a risk that sac may not flush out properly n if so d&c is still needed. He felt if can use med to flush out is better than doing d&c cos afterall it's still a surgery. I did asked if in the end need to do d&c then I bleed for nothing. His reply is touching. He said in life there are risk to take n to hope for right. Just like when we do every cycle there are always new hope.

Waiting for it to naturally mc have its disadvantage depending on condition. The sac may grow bigger as U wait n by the time U decide to insert med it may be too big to flush out n need d&c. Discuss with your dr before decide.

I did a mini confinement using herbs to bath n cooking ginger dishes. I didn't do for long only two weeks. I was give three weeks HL to rest mentally and physically

So u managed to fully bleed out with the meds? How will u know whether u fully bleed out the sac? How long is the entire bleed out process?

Yes I managed to bleed out clean. I was asked to back scan after few days to check. Dr said all clean but still insert another med to flush it cos lining thick.

I inserted med at 6pm and cramp start around 11pm but no bleed so I put on pad n go to sleep. I wokeup at 4am pad fully soak with blood n keep bleeding so total change 5 pads. By morning 10am bleeding lessen n cramp subside. It depends on individual tolerance level. I feel cramps like normal menses cramp. However before insert med dr Loh did ask me if I can endure cramp.
I think to insert med or not also depends on the size of your sac so better to consult your dr and see which option is the best.

I see, just insert the meds once? My doc say insert meds once every 3 hours... Also don't know need how many..
That time you were at which week? in total u bleed for how many days? Sounds quite scary to need to change so many pad within that few hours..

No I insert two meds at night only. Not every three hours but I cannot remember the med name. I was week 8 or 9 I think. The most heavy bleeding was after inserting the med. Infact I sat at toilet bowl cos the clots kept coming out. After that it was just normal bleeding like menses ending kind. I can't remember last for how long.

Sigh.. Sounds quite traumatising..

Hello fellow sis, curious to know if after blood test came back positive how fast would the clinic arrange appt with our dr? Is it like the following week or after 3 weeks later?

Hi @Dreamscometrue I'm now with TMC, under LC Cheng as well. Just to add on the experience with TMC and LC Cheng for yr consideration. LC is a very nice and kind doc, like what muff mentioned. I'm comfortable with him, that's why I'm doing my 3rd cycle with him. 1st fresh cycle we have 3 nice 5day blastocysts, 1 I used during fresh, and 2 later during a frozen cycle last Jul.

For my current cycle, he moderated and added a third medication for injection, after my 2nd scan a few days ago, we compared to the last cycle and noticed that there are now more follicles and developing faster.

Overall my experience with TMC is quite good, waiting time is short (15 mins to 25 mins).. LC's nurse is very responsive over whatsapp and calls, so I just contact her whenever I'm in doubt (he pays for a dedicated phone line for her to talk to patients). I'm going for my retrieval this week, fingers crossed that it'll be smooth and there'll be good and many follicles ready to be harvested.
