Me gonna laze another day away... Long 2ww.. 5th day already but I'm getting real bored... Can't wait for next wed to come...
 


Girls going for ER and Et, all the best, hope u hv lot of good eggs. Girls going for bt, goodluck and spread the babydust! Durg this two weeks, I was only dreaming of carrying babies. Yestdy night got a cute little baby girl in my dream whom Iam carrying in my arms and hugging and kissing her. God, where r u? Hope u r listening to us!

Hi morning gals,
I got bad cramps last nite and woke up in midnite. This morning I found some brown spotting and when I wipe got pink color.. Call kk she ask me to go dw nw for bt. My bt suppose to be on 26th. Now going kk to hv bt. But I knw deep in my heart it a neg.

Totally agreed on whether bfp od bfn doesn't depends on long or short protocol. For myself I had made very big changes in order to get bfp during my second fresh. So jus wan to share with some of the sisters here sometimes make certain changes do help to increase bfp

Sisters, I just went for my wk 6 scan. It's a singleton! Really a relief for me. But the heartbeat was so tiny I can hardly see. Saw the flicker but was small and slow. I don't know if it's normal. Sonographer said considered ok since heartbeat detected but will need to continue monitoring.

Hope all the sisters going for BT this week will BFP!

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I have just completed my 1st ivf in Sept. Did ER on 8th Sept and ET on 10 Sept. Now in 2ww.. very worried because i'm down with flu, sore throat and cough. I know this is the worst thing that can happen during the 2ww. Doc has advised not to fall sick during this period. I'm so worried

My blood test is next Tues, 27th Sept but I keep thinking that it will be a negative result. Wanted to prep myself and not hear it straight from the nurse that it is a negative result, I bought home preg test kit and tested it yesterday (10dp2dt), there was a very faint vertical line. Decided to try another one this morning and again it is very faint vertical line. I guess no hope right? I have attached the pic I took.
Any advise? I still have 7 more days to go till the blood test and the wait is killing me.

Jane - looks like a positive - not faint at all-lah! If you were not on any meds that contained HCG, then likely a true positive. Maybe can call clinic & let them know you tested +ve on the CB. So depends what medication you are on.
 
Dear all,

I came bk from KK after the Beta BT and waiting for nurse to call. The moment I step into my house, I started to cry... I cry so hard... When I check my pad it really a full AF kind. I already kw the result..I dont feel disappointed. I feel sad, becos I feel my embbies just die inside me...I kw get preggie thru IVF is no easy. I am not sure I hv the courage to do another cycle. But no matter what I will still try. I dont kw what else I can do...

Btw, need some advise. If I wa to change doc. When is the time I should change, cos I think I hv to see my current doc before doing the 2nd cycle. I still hv 14 frozen embbies all in grade 3 and above.
 
Fatefully - hope for the best, prepare for the worst. But if looks like AF has come then likely negative, sorry not good news. Go ahead and be sad, cry it out. Take some time off for yourself.

Also, before you consider changing doctors - ask yourself why? Personally, i think shouldn't change doctor after 1 fresh cycle unless you think your existing doctor was incompetent. Your doctor has your records & protocol knowledge.

IVF is a numbers game. Probability of each cycle is only around 30% success rate (each embbie transferred back has around 10-15% success rate). Statistically, some may need around 3-4 transfers to succeed.

But don't give up. You have such good number of snowbabies! Can do many rounds of FET - maybe these 2 embbies didn't make it, but the next 2 are the ones.

Fatefully, it is sad to know the sad truth... go to see your doctor and look back and see what changes you could do on your side next time. Perhaps sticking to the same doctor will be better. Just my 2 cents worth..

Linda, what big changes have you done this time?

I don noe anything n didnt do anything for my 1st fresh not even google n don noe got tis forum exist.
After tat I came to know tis forum n learn that some sisters here actually went thru like acupuncture, taking multivit, follow the do n donts, n quite a number of them actually got preggy under dr Loh. So deep inside me I decided to take up all the changes as stated above. But it reali depends on individual whether u comfortable to do all the changes

My 1st time when I saw dr Loh I actually self prepared a typed summary wat was happened / wat was the meds dosing during my 1st Ivf. Thats y he suggested to me try short protocol.

Btw my 1st Ivf I was using gonal f then 2nd Ivf using puregon. Again it depends on individual body towards this 2 types of stimulation effect

Fatefully, as you nick suggest stay on the road of fate and believe it will happen. I only succeed on my 3rd fresh ivf. You xan make it.

Linda: my son is 2yrs 3 mths. He us in child care, but I bring him to school and play with him as well. I sun bed rest cos understand that walking round is good for blood circulation. But of course not too long. Can u send ur son to ur mum to take care or do u have Helper?

Seems that the only thing I can do is to wait till 27th Sept and can't ask KK to have a earlier BT? I have used clomid, 2 failed IUI and this is my 1st IVF in KK. I had 16 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilized but only 4 usable embryos of grade 3 and 4. That means I can only have 1 FET.

Fatefully, give you a very big hug! Have a good rest. Be brave and prep yourself for next cycle ok? Don't give up!
 
Hey jane, congrats. Don't worry abt remaing embryos or think abt future fet. Start enjoying ur beautiful period now. May god bless u with healthy pregnancy and cute and healthy babies.
 
Forgot to say but I'm on progesterone 3 times a day, 2 pills each time. I'm also taking folic acid, prenatal multi vits and fish oil. Don't think those contain HCG right?
 
Thanks hope283! I'm so happy to find this forum. Great to have people to talk to and heard everyone's experience!! I was so bored at home and went back to work yesterday. Guess I have to be good and stay home for the rest of the week to recover from my cough.

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt and above...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
 
Jane - suggest you call KK today & let them you u tested positive on the clearblue & ask for early bhcg (& confirm with them none of your meds contain hcg), to collect the pregnancy support meds. Also, for rest of the week you have a peace of mind of positive results with the beta BT.

Stage 1 (Lucrin)
- Cut off cold drinks
- water intake 2L/day
- drink DOM to build up the body
- chicken essence X 1 3x/week
- egg white x 1 daily
Stage 2 (Puregon / Gonal-F)
- Ensure milk or Anmum milk
- chicken essence x 1 alternate day
- Soya products (high proetin food)
- water intake 2L/day
- Brazil nuts
- egg whites x 2
Stage 3 (2WW)
- increase egg whites intake
- Ensure milk or Anmum milk
- 2-3 pieces of Brazil nuts daily, some take 5 pcs per day.
- can also take sunflower seed, pumkin seed, and flax seed
- No pineapple and water melon
- No squatting or carrying of heavy weights (anything that stresses the abdominal muscle)
- No hot sauna or soaking of lower half body in bathtub
- No intercourse
- Do not stand or sit in a position too long. Good to walk a bit to promote circulation
- No raw food and avoid oily and spicy foods as it may cause an upset stomach. High hormone levels cause bloatedness and hence add to discomfort
- No strenuous exercise
- No other medication (eg. TCM) other than those given by your Dr
- May have white to brownish pasty discharge. If feel itchy, to drink cranberry juice and use shower head to spray warm water on the "area" thoroughly

fet is much easier, you just need to inform your doctor when you would like to start your fet. you need to wait 2 months or more to let you body flush out of all the medication. the doc will let you know the rest. dont think so much now. just focus to get your body back to normal

Just that during the initial egg retrieval, extra healthy embryos will be frozen for future use. E.g. For myself, I only have 4 healthy embryos. 2 embryos were put in this cycle. Remaining 2 are frozen (Up to 5 years). If the first cycle is not successful, I can make use of my frozen embryos (it will go through thawing process). The embryos are then transferred to me. I will not have to go through purgeon injections.

My mil is staying wf me. She is 60 yrs old Liao . So at times she does feel tired but she reali a great helper for me. Cos she will cook n feed my son. I had tried not to carry my boy tis period so much. Hopefully my 2 embies are reali strong

dear all, i've not been on ivf, but have been contemplating on it since i have tried for 1.5yrs since my last miscarriage and no news after trying clomid and puregon. May i ask:
1 )costs of the process (i read somewhere that we can use medisave and govt subisidy?)
2 ) How long does it take to start the ivf cycle? I have not done any tests before..
3 ) Do i need to get any referral letter?

hope283, I did not bed rest at all... but when I go to bed at night I am like that lady... hahaha... but did not read a book and also no TV in my bedroom. As such, I think it is really a misery for me if I am going to stay on the bed the whole day!

Like you, this 2ww has not been easy... fear is setting in now... I am trying to be positive... but I have not got a sweet dream like you leh...

oh yes, I discovered a nice korean show on E City every morning at 9am.. Love and Obsession...

It will show how much government grant (co-funding) you can received if do IVF at government hosp, also how much medisave you can use to cover the balance cost.

Cost depends on where you do it (govnt vs pte), as well as the dosage of stimulation (gonal-F, puregon) required do it will vary.

Suggest you start by making a consultation appointment with your doctor (or a fertility specialist) to ask about the IVF process before you decide.
 
Hi Linda, I've a qn, for egg white consumption during 2ww, it's the half boiled kind or... Coz half boiled is raw while fully cook loses its protein... How how? Any advice anyone?

As for e egg white sometimes I make it half boil ( not always ) cos as u know tis period we don wan to get ourself fall sick/ stomach pain.
And u cook actuaaly cook the egg in many ways too, e.g steam, fry with vege, meanced meat, etc. Some gals when they make a cup of hot Milo then jus throw in the egg and swallow it down. And reassured the protein will still intact.
