Today is my 7th day of embryo transfer, but my progesterone level is 25, which consider low according to doctor.

Anyone has any idea any food can increase the progesterone level ?

    Hi all,

Can i ask if anyone knows why is mercilon (birth control) pill given before fet cycle starts? What is the purpose of the birth control pill? Not very comfortable with taking it heard will decrease response to future stimulants. Can just take prognova?

I suggest you listen and take it in an open mind... Going through ivf most importantly no doubt no stress no worry... And possible don't ask... Doc has planned for you... They don't anyhow prescribed medicine to us...

Only 5 follicles can be seen at day 6 stim , does it mean I low response to the med? Thinking should I cancel the cycle or not ? Some more they want to cultivate the embryies to D5, the. Frozen after that to do FET, really worry about it

Number seems alright. I had around the same number on d6 also. Follicles will still continue to grow and you will know the number of follicles and eggs on day of ER

Don't feel bad or unhappy about that. Prof is very reasonable most of the time. He was invited back to NUH from private to head this ivf clinic, so to a certain extent he has some pride and authority in this field. I guess when you are so high up there, you probably will feel the advice you provide is what is the best interest for the patient. People at his status might not like being challenged. Usually when you still have one frozen one logically they will want you to do the FET, unless this fail then the next step is another fresh cycle. The purpose is also to discourage multiple births because it come with more risk. Also probably you didn't follow him through hence the rapport wasn't there. If you're more familiar and comfortable with Dr Chew then see him again and see if he agrees for you to start fresh or he prefers you to do a FET. Generally for FET the purpose is to build lining to receive your embryo if you are doing medicated cycle, if you do a natural cycle, the rationale is only you can ovulate by yourself, more unpredictable if you didn't ovulate that month.

I also failed 3 iui and my first ivf I didn't get to transfer because I might develop OHSS. The first FET also failed then I took 3 months to do acupuncture and TCM medicine. You might want to consider this option while waiting for next cycle. I was skeptical and not true believer of it in the beginning.

Ladies from kkh anyone did Et alone without presence of husband? Or have anyone suggest to dr to do Et on Saturday instead after maximal lining achieve due to special timing needed?

  18. I did without husband's presence, although they strongly encourage husbands to sit in the procedure. It was smooth and quick.

Thanks for your reply sister . Just feel like that if only 5 follicles , no point to spend another more than $15 for ER. Thinking if need to cancel the cycle

    Help help ladies!

Want to ask those who have went through medicated fet. I was supposed to have my et next Tuesday afternoon. But due to a miscommunication mistake from the nurse, I took the duphaston in the morning instead of at night. The doc called me n to my horror, he said the timing is off and asked me to cancel the cycle. I blew up and after which he told me he can continue but need to change the timing of the et to morning instead.

Want to check is the timing of taking duphaston that crucial? I googled but none of the sites expressed that precise a timing of the meds. So need some advise from those who has done medicated FET. I rem for KKH the wait for et can be a few hours so it was never that precise to begin with. I am with private now.

FYI, my doctor ask me to take 1 tab 8 hourly, so I eat it at 7am, 3pm and 11pm. I strictly follow the timing and set an alarm in my phone to remind me.

Can I check what time u started the duphaston and what time is your et? Ya the duphaston is 3x a day to be spread out. But the starting time I read should be the day 16 or 3 days before the et but none said if the trf time is afternoon then pill taken at night.

It's to regulate your ovary and follicle so they won't be active. In medicated cycle you do not want to ovulate, they prime the follicles so they can start you the next cycle to receive the embryo. Every hospital has different protocol even doc within the same hosp has different protocol at times.

Hahaha I started seeing him only 2016, he will greet and tell you the facts, not those super friendly and talkative kind but that's his character, if you have question and ask politely and not like accusing or impolite he usually answers most of them. Of course do filter what you want to ask, he has an busy schedule and he doesn't like to run late. That's what I like about him, waiting time is minimal, only occasionally runs late. He doesn't do delivery hence he won't have to rush away and keep you waited for 2-4 hours like other gynae.

I think the head thing is a rotation one, cannot be always the same person. Then it is fair for people in your department to have he leadership role and groom the younger generations also.

I always like that he starts at 8 am, usually not long wait. I ever waited for other gynae there the whole day cos she has to go for delivery. And he will say sorry if he sees you late

Yah he was late for my first appointment with him and he apologised. He was friendly at 1st appointment in fact. Just dont know why on the 2nd and 3rd appts his moods not very good. I never dare to challenge or be impolite to any doctors. On the fateful 3rd appointment i didnt challenge him or sound impolite and just asked him one very simple question on any option to help ovulation if i still choose natural fet. I asked him with a smile but he wasnt very patient. Maybe he in a rush or wasnt in good moods that week. Well doctors are human they have their moods also.

He don't believe anything on Google, I asked him before about endo scratch and he says Google does not have medical proof haha... since then I know that I will just leave it to him and don't ask those questions, he will know what is best for us. I am 12 weeks pregnant n first time ivf did by prof.

Hello! Baby dust to all who are trying to get pregnant! Am pregnant again through ivf and am currently 4 weeks pregnant. My doctor wants to do a scan at week 5 to make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy and another scan at week 6/7 to check for heartbeat. Do you think it's ok if I request to skip the scan at week 5 and just do a scan at week 6/7 to check for heartbeat? The risks of ectopic pregnancies are after all very low..it should be ok to take that little bit of risk, right?

In my case, pill taking timing doesn't relate to the ET timing..

Hi finesse9702.. I removed multiple fibroids last month through laparoscopy. Did hysteroscopy at the same time and removed some polyps which was never detected on scans. Can reach out to me if you have any specific queries.
