Hi kymkym how come I don't see any pharmacy selling Dhea? Is it not approved in Sg?

yes. it is not approved item in SIN although many dr recommend n recognise the result. that's why dr only recommend and dun prescripted.

Hi sisters,can i check which place is egg retrieval done at kkh?is it at e day surgery ward?
For sedation at kkh, is it ask u to breathe to a gas can le? Or they also inject somethg to yr vein?

at their treatment room in Kkivf centre. i was asked to breathe via mask.

Im not emotionally & physically ready to go work tmrw. HL ends today & AF is still not on full flow, only dark brown discharge & cramping like MAD 
btw just asking for those who have experienced a failed cycle, did kkh explain on the spot why the failure? Coz when I did my beta on Saturday, the nurse called me and pass me the results & merely said sorry it was negative, & gave me a follow up appt. it was over & done in less than 2 minutes. I find them not showing empathy at all. Is this normal practice actually?

Hi ,i did at private for my 1st ivf. The nursd also announced to me like wat u said. My no review at all. Nurse just say doc says call back on yr day 2 when u are ready to try. So nothing inserted into yr hand vein? Just a mask for breathing then a few minutes later u are asleep liao?

they did insert something on my hand, one is meant for drip. i just know that when i breath, i choked and zzzzz le..

for my case, kk dr see me and husband n told us on the result also for 5 mins but nvr set next appt yet (2 weeks passed le). so disappointed with their 'svc'. Connie_hopeful is right. good to back to work to recover from sadness but beware that colleagues will ask lot of questions. ...after cried for 3 full days..i also cut short my HL by 1 wk plus.Im not emotionally & physically ready to go work tmrw. Yes , some doctors here do prescribe DHEA .I have taken DHEA before , prescribed by Dr christopher Chen . However my present Doctor told me it does not help in improving egg quality , though some drs believe that it help patients with low egg reserves. my dr also mentioned that there is no scientific proof that DHEA is effective

Thanks for e feedback ladies. I was on ga for e hysteroscopy. There is a difference of kkh ga and tt of private. Kkh ga gas was so smelly! Private ga no smell..

ya , they will not explain to u why your ivf failed. i was told that the doctor will go through my BT result with a panel of dunno who, and dr will speak to me on the day i go back for review and recommend the best next step for me from then onwardsIm not emotionally & physically ready to go work tmrw. @ preciousbeanie,
d&c prior to ivf is for removal of polyps that some of us is diagnosed with unfortunately after scanning/sis scan. D&c is not a must for ivf. Its best not to go through it and its best to smoothly can proceed to ivf. If doc didnt tell u anythg n give u greenlight to ivf,dun worry abt this dnc

KKIVF (where you do your scans while growing your follicles) has surgery theatres hidden behind closed doors, right in the same area. Very smart architecture to make it so accessible to patients at KKIVF yet private and away from the crowd. I didn't smell anything from the mask.

Hi,e smelly gas is from general anesthesia from my hysteroscopy at kkh,not from ivf. Maybi thats y kkivf use sedation for their ivf?

I have tiny veins and on my first fresh cycle, the nurse who put the drip on me was incompetent. She put the needle in my hand and poked around for a good one minute hoping to find the vein. I was in so much sharp pain I clasped my mouth and cried. Finally she called for another nurse, who did it in about 5 - 10 seconds. My vein was still in pain all the way until I got knocked out from sedation. The whole thing was definitely more painful than a blood test for me. I'm not saying this to scare you, pigletlyn, just to share my personal experience. My second fresh was much better and had little pain due to a different nurse doing the drip. I think it really depends on whether you have tiny veins like me and the competency of the nurse. If she cannot find your vein and it's painful, don't suffer in silence, immediately demand another nurse to do it.
True, but I still feel it's the size of your veins and the competency of the nurse that determine how you feel. Just don't look at it when it's being done; close your eyes, take deep breaths and relax. It'll all be worth it if/when you BFP and you'll forget about it in no time!

I am just logging in to share my experience with IVF. I have a boy who just turned 14 months from IVF under dr sf loh and gotten a lot of support in this forum.
I had the short protocol and during egg retriever gotten 23 eggs but when I need to do ET, only 2 embryos and 1 survived. So don't worry if you don't have a lot, 1 is enough
All ladies please jiayou and one thing I didn't do is to look for signs that I m pregnant and when time to test for bfp then I wip out a stick

Ttc77 : don't worry I have only 2 follicles too during my day 2 scan. I didn't eat anything different to increase but I was doing acupuncture at the same time. I think that might have helped

At private hospital, no empathy too. Nurse only called to inform results negative and request patient to arrange for failed discussion with doctor. I followed another lady who spoke to me offline from this forum and she has successful BFP recently too I feel so happy to be with her when she needs me. so if I can help I will be glad to I am also with dr jerry chan. Similarly, he also didnt ask me to take vitamins. But he did mention he had patients who went tcm, but he put disclaimer that he dont know how effective that is.

When my cycle failed, i also cried all day at home. It didnt help that i have so heavy AF flow.
The nurse who called me also just tell me it is negative. I didnt start crying until she ended the call. I even asked her abt what to do with the medicine.
Dont think doc or nurse will be able to tell why fail. When i went for my review, the doc also simply say, seems it didnt work for u. And nothing much he said, just prescribe medicine and ask me to schedule with ivf centre for next cycle.
I also didnt go back to work immediately. Physically was in bad shape and i might as well utilise my HL fully and do things normally, as a non-preggy. I can walk faster, and do hair, and go shopping....
When i went back to work, many people came to ask me abt why i was away for so long. I chose to share with my team, as they asked me during a catch up meeting. First time i felt they are so "close". When there are people who really cares, it doesnt feel so bad, i think.
As you said, you wont give up. So let's put this behind and look forward to the next round.

Hi, sori to check, did dr loh explained why only 1 survived embryo out of your 23 eggs? recently i did a 2nd opinion with him (i intended to shift to his clinic from Kk), and he commented that it is not possible that out of my 17 eggs, none produce a good embryo. He insist me to take dhea+Q10 and try one more time at his clinic instead of go for donor eggs. But look like these med dun work on you as well? hiaz...shld i just go straight for donor eggs instead of trial and error again?Hello ladies,

I also faced with same problem for my failed ivf. My AMH is on the high side. Wonder if I can consume DHEA?

i googled website and it stated that one shld not take too much folic acid per day. However i have been taking 5mg and the blackmores Per-conception also contains 500pg. Is that ok and not consider overdose right? after taking all supplyments (dhea+q10+conceive well+folic acid+eye nutrition+glucosamine), somehow i feel slight heavy on my head and chest.

Not sure abt pg but i think we need 4 to 5mg of folic acid to prepare for conception. I am prescribed 5mg from my doc
