Pcos patients are suppose to be insulin resistant, so low carbs diet will produce less insulin in your body therefore allowing ovaries to work better, i guess generally translating to better and proper development of follicles. This is my understanding, of cos i might be wrong. Besides, low carbs suppose to be good for health anyway.
And apparently, those with pcos higher risk of getting diabetes, so i guess low carbs for us helps in 1 way or another. Or shld i say, low GI diet. I stopped TCM when i started IVF, but i still continued diet. Only stopped the diet when i feel OHSS beginning to subside. I'm more or less okie from OHSS, but still bloated and occasional nauseous and headache.
I started off with having a lot of follicles/cysts on Day 2 even before starting to stimulate, abt 38 i think, but we were all surprised that all of them grew to a good size.
After a week of puregon, 2 was abt 12mm, the rest abt 8mm? Nurse was sure i was going to need another week, but after 4 days, doctor say im ready. Bigger few reached abt 18mm, had abt 20 above 14mm. Not sure abt the sizes on actual ER though.
Im on the short antagonist protocol, so not sure if thats also the reason, i was on 3 days of cetrotide and started to stimulate on day 4. So not much of a suppression stage.
