IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

whitetiger: i think on and off can eat as part of diet... oyster omelette etc... but not overdose too, cos cholesterol..

yeah its on and off... but effect only take place 30-60 days later as new sperms take around this time to reproduce. Tat's y it's very good to clear them ev 3-5days to allow new reproduction of soldiers.

Wud also mean more BD. hahaha.....

All the best Whitetiger! Do u still remember that we did our 1st iui at around the same time, and with Dr Cheng too. I still do not have the courage to go for the 2nd one. Hope that u will be successful this time. Good luck!

thanks for the encouragement!

babybun - yes i remember. both of us blur blur abt the medication given to us, but luckily got ladies on this forum who tell us what ovidrel and dupsaton is for. jia-you!

Natural iui didn't work for me. Tried abt 6 rounds between 2 doctors. Hv moved on to so iui. But I've heard of friends who strike first round natural iui

hi ladies, quite new to iui/soiui. Hb and i decided to go for a iui as suggested as my gynae. may i ask do i have to go to specialist in iui or i can proceed with my gynae?

any doctors to recommend for gleneagles/mount a?

thanks.

Hi all, been a silent reader for a long, long time and just wanted to join in with you gals here.

I just did my 6th IUI last week and immediately after it, I started crying, it was so embarrassing. Not sure if it’s all those hormones in me or what. Sigh. Somemore hubs wasn’t with me.

I did 3 excruciatingly painful iuis with my previous gynae (she dilated me manually!!) and when they failed, she basically told me it was hopeless and to try for IVF. What made me angry was that she didn’t do anything else to check on our health: no blood tests, no hsg, and only 1 SA (which was why she asked us to start on iui). Decided to seek a second opinion and thank goodness I did! Current doc ran all the tests, I did a lap and this is my first iui after the lap. Fingers crossed!

Good luck to all those embarking on a cycle or in 2ww like I am.

Hi star

Wow which Gynae is that?
I am starting my 1st IUI. I hope it is a smooth procedure and BFP in this cycle.

Were you on any meds?

hey foodieshare - it was a female gynae in East Shore hospital, Dr H. Just the mention of her makes me mad!

I've been on Clomid for all my cycles, responded pretty well, always 3-4 follies. Didn't question that until my current doc did a blood test and said I have mild PCOS! Hubs' SA is not great either, poor motility and morphology.

Good luck on your SO-IUI! I'm super scared of injections and I think all the ladies here who are doing IVF and SO-IUI really really brave. I don't know if I will ever muster the strength to do this. But I've read through Dr F's thread (all the way back to 2006 heh) and he seems to be a really great doctor so you are in good hands!

Hi Star_Baby,
Care to share which gynae you are with now? I read that you have done lap before? May I know why do you need to go for Lap?

hi foodieshare, not sure when i can start my 1st cycle though i hope to start next mth but my gynae doesnt seem to have the intentions. currently still running through the series of test, SA, Blood test and HCG.

how's everything with Dr Foong?

so far, i had not heard anyone with IUI/IVF with my gynae. so abit skeptical.

What is Lap???

Hi QQ
I think ur Gynae just want to make sure that all problems that can be detected by other tests are ruled out first. Elimination rule...

I hvt seen dr Foong since Jan haha...

Next week will go see him...

Hello whitetiger
Which dpo u are now? Possible to be implantation??

I am also confused. Could be af coming. Still not familiar with terms used. It is now 12 days after iui. Does that mean dpo12?

Just realised I made a terrible boo boo... Hope it doesn't affect my chances. Only today did I realise I am supposed to take dupsathan twice a day. Have been taking only once a day. My heart dropped when I read the label this morning....

tub, haven't seen u ard for long time. How have you been? I had natural IUI last Sept with PC Wong and striked 1st time. Now cruising to my 7mths and really keeping fingers crossed that no major hiccup happening as this preg seem really diff from my 1st.

whitetiger, dun worry, u should be fine. The duphaston is just an additional progesterone support if u strike. So now that u know, just take it twice a day. Btw, do u have any side effects taking it?

Tweetie, minor side effects- I get abdomminal cramps when I take dupsathon.

Foodie - mine was gonal f jabs. Had 5 jabs done at the dr, 1 more 2 days before iui procedure and 2 ovidrel jabs after few days after iui.

Hihi!

I am searching for active SO-IUI threads, so that we can all encourage each other.

Hi

Cos I was put on clomid so have to monitor womb lining.
It is done together with the follicle scan.

Vivi: is it a KK practice to have briefing? I dun have any briefing.

hi ladies....

glad that i found this thread.

my dr has suggested that i should try SO-IUI. i've been TTC-ing for the past 3 years. done HSG in 2009, done a laporoscopy and took clomid for 6mths in 2010. kinda dishearted and feeling lost. i do not wish to go through IVF.. considering the 'pain' i've to go through.

reading this thread and i have mixed feelings about SO-IUI... should i just go for it or should i just give up trying?

Hi sonel

Welcome. I also have tried for 2 yrs +, and did all the same things that you did.

Did you manage to find any problem?

I belong to the unexplained category. Same feeling as you. So I suggested to my doc that I want to try IUI.

Give yourself a chance...

Hello ladies,

Hi Foodieshare, me also been TTC for almost 2 years too... and did every tests... but I still falls under the "unexplain" category... I am getting tired abt the whole thing and told doc I want a "faster way".... so gynae suggest SO-IUI ...
happy.gif
scared but I think just try 1 time and see how ba....

HI Sonel, give yourself a chance ... Jia you and dun give up okay?

hi foodieshare, diamond

thanks for the encouragements.

i believe i fall under the 'explainable' category as well. DH did his SA in late 2009 and my dr said his results was 'okay'. however when i see the chinese physician, she said its not good. sigh~

i was seeing the supposedly famous physician at Thong Chai Medical, but she told me to stop seeing her until i've complete my clomid intake. i thought its good to 'zhong xi he ping'? i was taken aback and stop seeing any physician even though friends did recommend another 'well known' physicians.

dr asked me to think about it and see him again in 6 mths. having some thoughts to do the SO-IUI soon if i dont get any good news this month.

i hope, i pray, i wish.

Hi diamond

I same case as u. Tired le though doc believes I can conceive naturally. But it just take too long, every month go to scan ovulation also cost $$. Might as well ...

hi ladies,

I've also been TTC for more than 6 months and because of my age, the doc recommended me to undergo IUI. So I did and was not successful the first time round.

Yesterday was my second attempt. During the procedure, the doc found a fibriod located at the back of the uterus hence it is pushing the entire uterus to the front. This made it much harder for the doc to put the catheter in.

I told the doc if this second IUI is unsuccessful, I will want the fibriod to be removed. The fibriod has been causing me alot of discomfort everytime my menses arrive.

I will only know after 2ww. Hiaz.

nevertheless, baby dust to everyone!
